Good budget robot vacuum with missing features

I had a good first impression upon unboxing this iRobot, as they included an extra filter, so that's one less product I have to worry about. Setup was painless, considering I already have the app installed on my phone. I quickly connected it to my wifi, and the app did the rest.
I had two robot vacuums before getting this model. One of my vacuums bounces around rooms in a random pattern, while the other one moves in straight, parallel lines. This model of vacuum is like the former; however, it still does a great job of covering the entire area. I'm impressed that this vacuum maneuvers around obstacles well and does a good job with cleaning awkward areas. It moves over thresholds more smoothly than my other robot vacuums; however, it did get stuck twice: under a dresser and while lost in a closet.
These instances were disappointing, because I wish there was an included sensor that detects whether or not it has high enough clearance (for going under furniture, for example), and the entrance to the closet was rather wide, so it was odd that it got lost. Other things that missed the mark with this model were the lack of ability to change vacuum preferences (via the app) and the dustbin door was a little difficult to unlatch - there wasn't just a lever to slide to open the dustbin door. In other words, it was somewhat obvious where iRobot has cut corners to make this a lower-end robot vacuum.
Overall, if you prefer to stick with a company that produces cutting-edge robot vacuum technology, then I'd recommend this model. However, there may be better options at this price point, so happy hunting.

Great food processor for a newbie

I already own a small food chopper to cut up an occasional onion, but I did not have a way to slice a lot of carrots or cucumbers so I figured I would give this a try.
I was more interested in using this to slice up vegetables using the slicing disks than using the chopper part. I included a picture of a cucumber processed through this device (see photo). I really liked the suction cups on the bottom to keep in unit in place which in operation.
I would recommend this for anyone looking for a high-volume chopper and slicer. I understand that this kitchen tool has many different purposes and I can wait to see what else I can use this for.

Impressive technology minus a few flaws

I already own Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells, and was curious how these JAXJOX DumbbellConnect compared. I liked how the dumbbells’ weight selection was controlled by an app and these weights included programs to help get fit, so I wanted to give them a try.
Setup
Setup was easy enough, as one of the dumbbells was easily added within the app, but the other one took some tinkering to get to add.

I liked how I had the option to change the weight of the dumbbell from either the app or the dumbbell base. It made my workout easy to be able to transition from one exercise to another without needing to be near the base to change the weight. I really liked how the app keeps track of your workout schedule. I also liked how this weight system changed weights to a lower one without keeping an awkwardly lengthened bar where the heavier weights would go. This allows for a compact dumbbell, especially compared to the competition (see photo of both dumbbells at 20lbs). The only issue I ran into with these dumbbells was when I changed from 20lb to a heaver weight. The additional weights in the base were leaning outward, and when I placed the handle back on the base, the tracks did not align properly and there was a gap (see photo). I did not attempt to see if the weight could be changed, but would worry that if it could, the next weight in the series would not be properly tied into the handle and could cause it to fall off and cause an injury. I hope JAXJOX has a failsafe to prevent this, but I was afraid of testing this.

Great Spotlight Security Camera

I’ve used Arlo’s cameras for awhile and have been amazed by how much they’ve advanced over the years. This is my fourth Arlo product: the first couple were single cameras, then I got a doorbell camera, and now I have this spotlight camera. Unlike older Arlo cameras, this one doesn’t require a hub and can be tied into your home Wi-Fi. Picture quality is impressive; not only is it clear during the day, but the added spotlight also makes it just as clear at night. I installed the camera in a corner of my house to focus on my back deck, and the angle was so wide, I may consider installing it on a flat surface instead. Similar to the doorbell camera, it detects objects in motion (such as a human, animal, or vehicle), and it starts recording almost instantaneously. Installation was straightforward. Since I already had a base station for a previous model, I used it to install this camera as well. It was so easy to install with the base, I assume it would be just as easy without a base. I cannot comment on the battery life because it is so long – my other cameras have had great battery life, and this one claims to be even better. The only improvement I would suggest is increased volume on both ends of the two-way microphone audio. (It seemed a little quiet.)
Because this is a fairly inexpensive camera, can be installed without a base station, and has such a great picture and a wide angle, I would highly recommend it for a wireless home security camera system.

Spectacular Small Drone for Beginners or Pros

I have owned many toy drones, with the ability to have laser dog fights, take videos/pictures, and perform stunts in the air, but I have never owned anything close to professional grade. In other words, I would rate my drone flying as experienced, but not professional. I still make a lot of rookie errors when flying and have a hard time taking video and photos from a drone. I read many impressive reviews about the Mavic Mini and was excited to try out this latest upgrade.
DJI gives you a lot for the money with the DJI Mini 2 Fly More combo. I was amazed at the quality of the drone and remote and how the package included 3 batteries for such a reasonable price.
The app was easy to install and get the drone ready to fly. There are step-by-step tutorials which guide you all the way through getting the drone set up, to basic flight operations. There was even an onscreen reminder to add accidental damage protection before the 48 hour period was up. I elected to purchase the added protection since it’s likely I’ll crash while experimenting with all the features this drone offers.
The last few days have been very windy, and I read that this drone can handle very windy conditions easily, but I was afraid to push my limited experience with wind gusts over 16 mph. Today the wind was 13 mph, and it didn’t even seem to faze this drone.
I have an Otterbox Defender case on my phone and could not plug the remote directly into my phone without removing it from the case. I found an old micro USB to USB-C connector adapter and used it to connect the remote to my phone. My phone is still able to fit in the remote’s phone holder with the case still in place.

I would highly recommend this drone. The battery fly time is awesome, it can be used easily by beginners, and satisfy the experienced flyer with all of the advanced features.

Great sound and a well thought out app

Over the past few years, I have read about Jabra and been impressed with reviews of the Elite 75t earbuds. I was very curious to try these out myself.
I was quickly impressed by how solid these felt. The materials that the buds and case are made from feel of a higher quality than all its competitors.
Setup was typical of just about all other earbuds: download app, connect via Bluetooth, update firmware, and explore customizable options. However, I was impressed that Jabra’s app performed a hearing test to make sure I got the most out of my listening experience.
The only minor flaw I discovered while testing these was that during a vigorous workout while moving my head, the buds became loose and fell out. I should note that I was intentionally trying to see what it took to get them to fall out.

Great video doorbell

This is the third doorbell camera I’ve tested in the last few years, and I’ve been amazed by the progress in their development. Arlo initially had a camera-less doorbell, and I wasn’t interested, but after becoming familiar and pleased with their other home security cameras, I was excited to add this new doorbell camera to the family.
Installation was a breeze. Since I already had the app, I was able to follow the in-app instructions for proper installation. The only hiccup was near the end when I was trying to add the doorbell camera to the app: apparently Arlo had already added the camera without my knowing and thus couldn’t find it when I tried to add it. Thus I would advise checking the list of cameras to make sure your new camera hasn’t already been added.
The doorbell camera has a few nifty features that I haven’t seen before. Visitors can leave recorded messages (such as on an answering machine), the camera can detect whether something is a human or a vehicle and alerts accordingly, and activity zones can be modified to exclude certain motions (such as a busy road).
There are a few opportunities for improvement with this camera. It doesn’t include an LED light for nighttime purposes, so the night vision is not as clear as my other doorbell cameras. Also, although you can set zones of activity, you can’t set proximity parameters (ie, I can set one of my other cameras to start recording within 20 feet of the frame).
I would definitely recommend this doorbell camera. The new features are impressive, the interface is solid, load time is quicker than my other cameras, and the image quality is better.

Large printer that can do it all.

I’ve had my old Epson WorkForce WF-3530 printer for more than 5 years now and have been happy with it, but my old printer lacked a touch screen and other modern features. This printer has an easier-to-use touchscreen and is able to use larger printer paper than legal.
This printer is a beast at a height of 13.75”, width of 20.25”, and depth of 17.75.” These measurements are with the printer tray closed (otherwise, add another 8.5”), so make sure you have enough space to accommodate it.
The set up was pretty easy to figure out and went smoothly. The only issue I had was finding the menu where to update the firmware. The printer is advanced enough to detect a new firmware version and alert the user, but only stated it was in setting and not where to find it. I am a little puzzled why Epson would not make it more user-friendly and just allow the user to tap update on the touchscreen.
As for options, this printer has it all. I won’t bore you with all the functions since it is in the product’s features, but I am amazed that this printer works with Alexa. Also, I am pleased that the printer automatically extends the printer tray so the prints don’t end up on the floor, if you forgot to extend it.
The main thing to consider when purchasing this printer is the cost of the ink. I have read many articles about how Epson and other printer companies make their money on selling ink and will update their firmware to not allow 3rd party ink cartridges to work. Even if you find a company that has a workaround, the cartridges may be worthless after an update.
I would highly recommend this printer. It has so many features, I cannot think of any it’s missing. The printer has so far worked flawlessly, and I am very happy with it.

Great Espresso Machine for an at Home Barista

This is my first espresso machine, so I was eager to give this a try.
The setup was pretty easy, but since there are limited buttons and lights, you must use the instruction manual to make sure you are modifying the correct feature such as water hardness, espresso temperature, and stand-by mode. These 3 buttons/lights also are used to diagnose issues with the machine.
I like how this machine includes 3 coffee filter holders: 1 cup, 2 cup, and coffee pod. I used the scoop to determine how many coffee beans I would need to make the correct amount of grounds. At the other end of the scoop there is a presser to help compact the grounds into the coffee filter holder. How much pressure is applied to the grounds can determine how strong or weak the espresso will be. Since the presser does not have any way to determine the correct pressure, there is a short learning curve to determine the correct technique.
The only things that need improvement are how long the steamer/froth takes to warm the milk, and the light weight of the machine. Since the machine is so light, it moves around while tightening the filter holder in place.
Overall, I would recommend this espresso machine to a non-connoisseur of espresso who does not like to pay steep prices at the coffee shop. If you have a more refined taste or are looking for the perfect cup of espresso, then you should look at the pricier machines.

Great Updated Soundbar with Added Assistant

Bose now has two families of speakers: Soundtouch and Smart Home. The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 is part of the new family, Smart Home. Both families of speakers have their own apps which can control, manage, and even connect multiple speakers within the same family. I used this soundbar to replace the factory TV speakers in my Samsung TV.
The setup was easy since I already had the Bose Music app installed. You can choose between Alexa or Google assistant. I decided on using the optical cable to connect the soundbar to the TV hub since this cable was included in the box. I like how there are some audio controls such as Center Channel, Bass, and Treble. You can also sync this soundbar with your TV or with other Bose speakers grouped within the same family. I was a little disappointed to find that you cannot sync all speakers to your TV at the same time. You either have a delay within the linked speakers or all speakers sound will be delayed with the actual TV dialogue. I hope Bose will come out with an update to allow a surround sound experience with various Bose speakers without the delay.
I would recommend this soundbar as a replacement for the stock TV sound. I would, however, recommend adding a Bass module for a more full sound.

We have thick pads under our area rugs, will the ION-Robot be able to get over the height of the area rugs? We have several of them throughout the house. We bought a RUMBA and it was not able to get over them.
It really depends on the height it must climb. I have rugs over a half inch thick and mine made it over with no problem.

Why advertise it as only available for VERIZON if it is unlocked and can be used on other networks? Sounds like poor advertising by Best Buy, buyers will just go directly to google since they don't make it confusing. Just my thoughts.
Google decided to allow Verizon to lock some of their phones on their network. Best Buy is currently only allowed to sell phones locked on Verizon networks. If you want to be able to purchase an unlocked phone to use on any other network, then you must purchase directly from Google. Maybe Google will allow Best Buy to sell unlocked phones later, but I don't know.

so i wanna get the pixel but with out getting a verizon contract how would i do so?
If you want to buy it unlocked, you will have to purchase directly from google or maybe BestBuy has that option too. If you want to buy it without a contract, you can do that through BestBuy or any vendor. Even Verizon's website allows you to purchase the phone without a contract.

I have not noticed a difference when charging my wife's iPhone with the OEM lightning cable vs the cable which came with this charger.
