Using this lens with the a7Rii
I've seen photos of what this lens can do. Read many reviews about quality. My only hesitation was dropping this much dough on a lens. I've never invested in (non-kit) lens because photography was just a casual hobby. This is my first serious investment in a professional-level lens and have no regrets! The crispness! The softness in bokeh! The ability to shot in lower light scenarios! New possibilities to explore which makes me want to shoot even more!

I had outgrown my old Nikon (entry-level DSLR) and was ready for an upgrade. Did a ton of research on what would fit my needs. Didn't think I would end up with a mirrorless system and have no regrets. My main requirements were:
1. weight
2. great image quality (especially during low-light scenarios)
3. great lens family (something I had not done in the past, but knew I was going to do going forward).

I've been shooting in various location and lighting scenarios over the last month and LOVE the image quality. Night shots are beautiful too! ISO range allows me to capture small details with no/little graininess. My entry-level camera night shots always left me wanting more clarity. I can't look at night shots taken on my mobile phones anymore. Why did I ever bother? Haven't done much with video yet so can't speak to that....yet.

CONS
Batteries don't last long. Two full batteries lasted a half-day excursion at a forest in Fire Island. Just ordered more for days I know will last longer, but for $50 a pop, this adds to the overall price of the system. This does keep the camera weight down though. A tradeoff for wanting a lighter camera.

price? This is some pricey equipment. Something cheaper might be good for what I currently do, but this is also something I want to grow with as I step up my photography game.
