Verified Purchase:Yes
I replaced the factory default 500 gb conventional drive with this 240 BG SSD and the replacement was a breeze but what followed is what really thrilled me. My notebook with Windows 8.1 now boots up in under 10 seconds flat. It's easy to suspend and wakes up quickly. The time saving is worth every penny paid to upgrade to SSD.
The drive is well built and encased that fits in snugly to replace the conventional drive. Fully satisfied with this purchase.

Hard drive

My hard drive Samsung Mod SP1614C has finally died and I need a replacement.
Would I be better off getting a refurbished unit?
My HP has a CD burner that I really miss.
Suggestion.
I was trying to find the form factor and size for your SP1614C but did not find it easily but I "believe" any SATA disk can be replaced with this. I wouldn't suggest getting a refurbished SDD if that's what you were asking. It's just not worth it. These drives are becoming cheaper every day. I use a similar SDD on a desktop as well and it works flawlessly. Check that your existing HDD is not thinner than 7mm. If not, then you should be good to go with this one. Use any off the shelf cloning software to migrate your data from existing HDD to new SDD and enjoy the blazing fast speed and performance.
