I hated the surrounds, as they do not go fully around my ears, and were not very breathable. The top band is extremely large, and will sit uncomfortably if you wear a hat. Certain high pitch frequencies are amplified in such a way that you may experience permanent hearing damage. Whenever I joined a group call in Skype, the extended, horrifying and cacaphonous noise was unbearable.
Additionally, the button and usb port placement on this headset was terrible. Logitech's designs are simply better.

Most reliable wireless headset on the market

I'll start by saying I have two of this headset. The vinyl on the headset pads cracked and started flaking off into my hair after over 4000 hours of use. The headset itself worked great, still. While I was being lazy about ordering replacement pads, which were around $14 shipped, I tried a few replacement headsets, including the Logitech G933 and the Razer Man o' War. Both of those had significant flaws, which I've covered in reviews on those product pages.
After much frustration with those models, bought this headset once again. It's comfortable, and it sounds great. The only caveat I have for you: don't install the logitech gaming software, as it can cause frequent disconnection issues.

Review after almost five months of ownership

My first review raved about how great this headset is, which I stand by when the product works. Since upgrading the firmware on the headset, which is required to modify the 5-minute auto-off feature, I have had two headsets cease to function in the last month.
First the headset stopping output/input functionality entirely. The lighting on the side stopped working at the same time. The red indicator on the microphone illuminated. There are dozens of reports of the same issue on Logitech's forums. Every purported fix: unplugging power and removing the battery for 15 minutes, updating firmware through LGS, and updating firmware through the command-line updater failed to resolve this issue for me.
After replacing the first dead headset less than one month ago, the replacement quit working and showed the same symptoms last night. I can no longer recommend this headset if it's something you'll be relying on, as I do for my job. Thank goodness for the Geek Squad Protection Plan, or I'd be in a much worse position. Thank you, Geek Squad.
I'm testing out the Razer Man O' War now. It's nowhere near as comfortable, and does not sound as good as the G933, but if it works, its shortcomings will be a fair price to pay.

Does your computer have to have bluetooth in order for the headset to pair up? Or how does that work?
The G933 comes with a usb dongle, which is shipped behind a removable panel on the left earpiece. Simply plug it in and it pairs instantly with the headset. For full control of settings, you'll want to install the Logitech Gaming Software.

How do these compare to the previous logitech g930 wireless edition? Is it worth the extra money you put out for it?
I've owned both the G933 and G930 headsets. The sound quality on the G930 is more pleasing to me, especially in bass frequencies. I find the G933 to be more comfortable, as it is slightly lighter and the surround material is woven cloth instead of that vinyl covering on the G930 surrounds. The bar across the top also has better and fuller padding on the G933. The G930 had better range for me by about fifteen feet, but the battery life was slightly shorter in my usage.
If you like lighting (which you certainly won't see on a headset while you're wearing it, the G933 offers that as a feature. Cool, but ultimately useless. Due to reliability issues with the current firmware for the G933, I'd recommend holding off on this headset for now. Other than the firmware issues I've had, and the slight difference in bass response, I really did like the G933 better.

Quick question, it says that this headset works for Xbox 360 and Xbox one is this true? Kudos, Sean
This headset will work with the Xbox One and 360 via the 3.5 mm audio port on the controller. Keep in mind this will only give you 2-ch audio, not 7.1 surround. If you intend to only use this headset with an XBOX, you may want to save a bit of coin and gain more functionality by considering a fully wireless alternative like the Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 420x (link below).
