I am not crazy when it comes to sound and just needed something that was cheap and sounded good. Went to the store and picked these up and they are a good set of speakers for a little over $20 that I paid for them. Good clear sound with adjustable bass. Alternative power source?
I see that this drive is powered via 12v power supply. Can it possibly also power itself via USB 3 only, without requiring that the power supply be attached?
That would allow max portability when used with laptop, but allow it with power source attached, to utilize USB 2 for data, such as with a WDTV Live unit

this is a standard hard drive with generic drivers for use therefor it will work fine
