I wanted to get a new set of earbuds for when I'm riding my bike so I don't trash my nice ones with sweat, dirt and ear junk. In the past my go to choice have been the SkullCandy Ink'd which are great. When I went into the store I saw these on sale and decided to give them a go.
They work pretty well. Sound quality is good or at least good enough for my purpose. Downsides are a shorter cord than I would like. I would like it to be about six inches longer. Second the rubber cushions do start to hurt my ears after a couple of hours. I don't know if it is the size or material but they other set that came with them is much larger so I don't think those will work. Since I only use them a couple of times a week for a couple of hours I can live with it. I'd probably feel different if I used them daily for several hours.
I don't dislike them but I would probably recommend others for those who want to use them for extended periods.

Fantastic bargain

I recently decided I wanted to upgrade my living room tv from 32" to something a bit larger. I already had an Insignia which my only issue with it was there were only 2 HDMI ports. Outside of that I had no complaints. After looking at several options I decided my choice would be this 40" unit.
Picture quality is excellent for a 1080p unit. I considered going 4k but since I don't watch that much tv I didn't think it would benefit me. I also considered going with the Roku smart tv but I already own a fairly new Roku so I didn't see a real advantage. Although that may be a consideration for those who want to stream content and don't have a device yet.
For the money you cannot beat this tv. I've had great luck with Insignia products over the years and know this one will also serve me well. Well worth the price and five stars.

Basic but overall good

When I got the S8 there was pretty much nothing out for the phone. I just wanted something for basic protection until the case of choice is available. It is really pretty good. It does make using the edge screen a bit challenging, but I'll take that. Nice that it is really clear, since there is little sense in getting an attractive phone if you can't see it. I will be replacing it before too long, but it does what I need it to for the moment. No real complaints.

I'll admit it up front, I wanted these as much for the 'WOW' factor as the actual function. And these certainly have a lot of WOW.
Installation and setup is very simple. attach wall/ceiling plate to surface and then twist sensor into place. Follow the voice prompts for setup and you're done. Really that easy.
Now the features. First and foremost it is an excellent fire/smoke/CO detector. I've only had them set off once and that was while cleaning my oven. The cool thing is that it does not just go off immediately, it gives you a voice warning that there is a detection. So if you're cooking and get a warning you can shut it off via the app before you get the alarm.
Second WOW feature, no more low battery chirps. It checks it own status daily without any fuss. It will alert you via app that you need to change batteries. I'm sure if you ignore it long enough it will eventually make noise, but why would you?
Third WOW feature is the pathlight. If you get up in the middle of the night it will light up the glow ring on the unit so you can see. I love that feature. It is nice when I walk to the kitchen it turns on a light on the way. Same in the hallway to the bathroom. Sure you can buy a $2 nightlight but it's on all the time and not nearly as cool.
These are just the most notable and noticeable features. While most more behind-the-scenes they make this the best in class. I didn't even mention how well it looks. Design is elegant yet it blends seamlessly into the rooms. Brilliant.

Great once you get it setup

There were two items in my house that I felt would benefit from a smart switch. One fan and one humidifier. Since I have already installed Hue lights I have a very limited use.
Setup is a pain. I purchased these two separately about a month apart. I figured the issues I had installing the first one might not be a problem with the second. Wrong. Same issues, mostly with getting the WeMo app to recognize the new devices. Required a force quit and restart to get it to work.
But on the plus side, once you get over the setup they work great. Programming routines is straight forward and simple. And both have worked flawlessly since. I really have no complaints with them as far as function. Plus the mini size lets you actually use both plugs in the outlet.
If Belkin would just resolve the installation issue (which is all that bad by comparison) it would be five stars. For some they may work better in their home for lights and such.

Spendy, but worth the investment

Most people are interested in the Nest Thermostat when you discuss features. Which there are a lot of. But there is a hesitation when they see the price. Understandable.
After two months I do have to say it is worth the investment. Living in Oklahoma I set it in Heat/Cool mode and haven't touched it since. I set the upper and lower temps and it handles it. Does a better than fair job keeping my house comfortable without my intervention. It knows when I'm home and when I'm away. And to be honest, I'm really impressed when how well the 'learning' part of this thermostat works.
Why only four stars? Let's be honest, price. For most of us $250 is a lot to spend for a thermostat. Even if it does do some very smart things. Would I purchase another one in the future? Probably. Would I replace my current one with the next new version? Probably not. It would have to be pretty compelling new features to do that. For right now it seems to do a good job managing the climate of my home.

Not all that I was hoping for

Don't misunderstand me, I enjoyed the movie. I've enjoyed the whole series. But of the four this one seems to bring up more questions than it answers. Sure I know the characters, but I don't really get why some of the plot points are there. Even on a couple of occasions I wasn't sure where the story was going.
Is Peeta good or bad? Is President Coyne really wanting change or staging a coup? How is President Snow still alive? I mean if you can get people into the capital then take him out! Problem solved.
I guess that is why this is part 1 and there is a part 2. I much prefer that to going all LOTR and having a four hour movie that I'll never be able to get through. Still it seemed like 3/4 of this movie was setting up the finale in the last one.
I didn't hate it, I'm not going to groan about it. I'm glad I now have seen them all and they do a good job of telling a story I like to see. But if this were the first one I saw I would be hopelessly lost and probably never watch another one. This series definitely has to be viewed in release order.

I will start off by saying that I did not read the books. So I don't know if anything was changed for the movies. But this being the fourth and final installment in the series I thought it was a good ending to a good story.
I really liked the first movie, felt the second was kind of disjointed and felt a bit confused after the third. So I was really hoping that this would answer some of the questions and explain some of the plot lines. And it does. Was it everything I was hoping? Yes, pretty much but I won't rank it up there with the Marvel movies or Star Wars saga.
It would have been nice to know some of the story about how the games started. It would have been nice to learn a bit more about the characters prior to the first film. Heck, maybe even get a better grasp on what the underlying issues were between the districts and the capital. None of that was really answered. Truth be told, it might not have made as good a film to watch. Sometimes too much backstory ruins the story. Especially if you are having to make it up after you've done three other films.
I am glad that I bought and watched all of the series. No regrets putting up money to own them. I'm sure I will watch them again in the future for pure enjoyment. I doubt I'll ever read the books now that I've watched the DVDs. Maybe that's where some of the things get fleshed out more.

I bought this so that I could use it in the bedroom for streaming from the Google Home. Pretty much the perfect solution. I connected it to an inexpensive portable speaker, connected it via the app and it has been flawless since then. You can use it by itself or group multiples and have a whole home sound system. I plan on adding one in my kitchen and another in my garage. No doubt this is the best value streaming audio product available.

Good as an add-on but not as the only device

First off, I have a Roku that is my primary media device on my TV. I wanted the Chromecast to cast from media stored on my tablet like movies and the like. I also wanted one to play with my new Google Home. I have a Chromecast Audio that I use for streaming music around my place to various speakers and I love that, so this was a logical choice.
The good. It works flawlessly with the Google Home. Youtube integration is fantastic. Since there are some documentaries that I like on YT that works for me. While I think it would be ridiculous to watch cat videos or mannequin challenge stuff you could do that also. Like I said above I have a Roku so I have no need to see about using Netflix or Hulu on it.
The bad, or actually not all that bad. It is an incredible inconvenience to have to use your phone or tablet as the remote. Once or twice I've had it just flake out and not cast even though the phone app says it is working. Currently with the Google Home you can only cast from Youtube. Fine for me, but does kind of limit its usability. I'm sure that will change in the future.
I really can't complain as it is an amazing device. Especially at only $35 full retail. I would probably have a love/hate relationship with it if it were my only media device. The lack of a remote is a big issue with me. But even with those things, it is pretty awesome overall.

The Galaxy S6 plus uses a micro USB cable, so no this will not work. If you meant the S8 plus then yes it will work.

For the battery version, if one alarm goes off in one room will it be able to communicate with other battery versions in other rooms to make them go off as well? Would like to the know the answer whether the wifi network is up or if its down.
Yes, it does communicate with the other Protects in the home. Does it work without the Wifi? Never tested that. But I would say that unless it is your router that catches on fire you will probably be alerted long before the WiFi gives out. But since they have a built-in ad hoc wifi they have probably considered that as well.

Chromecast and Bluetooth options?
If I'm using this through my home stereo, and controlling with my iPad, can I still use bluetooth speakers at the same time?
No, at least not practically. If the app you are using is sending to the chromecast it will not be able to send to a different set of BT speakers. That is an app/phone limitation not chromecast. I guess you could play from two different music sources but I would know why you would want to.
