Good value for basic home wifi

One Saturday my old router finally kicked the bucket. Since I only have a Roku for TV service without wi-fi I've got nothing. Did some quick browsing and came across this one. I have been a big fan of Linksys/Cisco for years so this was my first choice.
Plenty of throughput for both streaming and using my tablet at the same time. For the price range it's great. I love that you can set up a guest login as well so you don't have to change your password every time you let someone login.
Setup is about as easy as you can make it. Just pop in the CD and follow the prompts. There is an option for more advanced users but most will probably do just fine with the CD.
The only con with this router is signal strength in a crowded environment. If you live in an apartment complex with several other routers in the same building you can get quite a bit of interference. I mostly noticed it when playing games on my tablet. If you are in a single family house you should be fine. Not sure what the max range is but I have no dead spots in my 2bd apartment.
Overall I like it. No major complaints and like I said above, I've been a fan of the brand(s) for years. Maybe not for the hardcore gamer or super hd streaming but works fine with my Roku, tablet and laptop.

Can I control my lights when my device with the app is not on my home network? Everything is working great while my phone (Android with the Hue app) is on the same network as the bridge, but I've had no luck at all when away.

How many bulbs can you use with the bridge? I see another starter kit for $99 and says up to 50.

I see the light kit comes with 2 bulbs & a hub. If I want more bulbs do I need to buy that kit with the hub again or do they just sell bulbs only? Do I need more hubs to control 2 floors of house?
You should just be able to add bulbs and switches without needing another hub. You may need another hub for a two story house depending on the how much material is between the hub and lights. In my place I only need one, but the hub had issues going though 3 walls to my kitchen. If I could relocate the hub that would solve the problem but I can't where I'm at. I haven't tried controlling my upstairs neighbors lights with my hub as it would cost me money and freak them out. :)
