Have a split ac/heat pump in the family room. Only control is with the remote control. If we are away for a few days, we come home to a hot or cold home.
Tado allows us to turn the ac or heat pump on before we get home, with a few simple taps on a smartphone or tablet. Really simple.
The set up is very easy...but two steps are very time-consuming. Just wait them out while the software is "Loading" then "Updating."
This product gives you the ability to monitor and change the temp of a room with an ac/heat pump remotely, when previously you could only adjust with a remote control while in that room.

Great Solution for weak signal

WiFi router is at far end of the house and one floor above where I use my Android tablet and Chromecast on TV. Normally get 1-2 Mbps. Now it's 54 Mbps. Fantastic improvement. NetGear's free Analytics app helped me pick a good spot for the extender.
Set up problem required call to tech support. When it came time to connect a device to the new extended net it just hung, unable to get an IP address. Tech agent had me reset the device. The setup Genie had a field to enter the WEP password. The agent told me to leave that blank, and instead enter the password as a network key. It worked after that. Strange workaround, but who cares!

What's great about it: Increased signal from 1-2 Mbps tp 54 Mbps!
What's not so great: Had setup problem with WEP. Phone support fixed it.

where should i put the device next to my router or the opposite side of the house
During setup you need the device in the same room as the router. Once setup is complete you want to deploy it somewhere between the router and where you want a stronger signal. Netgear has a neat Analytics app to help you figure where to put the extender. Check their website for more info on how to do this. Netgear.com.
