Only Good for Standard Sized Wine Bottle - Caution

Starting off, I really like this unit bang for buck, however, ran into 2 issues. First is delivery issue and second is design flaw so to speak.
I ordered this online and both units came damaged, so I am working on getting my 3rd one, except I'll go pick this up at the store vs UPS shipping. I think it is well packed, but both units were trashed upon arrival with major concealed damage - my suggestion, do a pickup at store. But this is not why I am giving 2 stars.
If you have standard 750ml wine bottles, you are in business. This cooler WILL NOT hold a Syrah or Pinot Noir bottle (bulbous bottom style), nor will it hold a high end Cab in a thicker glass bottle or taller red wine bottle. Don't even think of putting champagne or a magnum of any type as you will be removing shelves and stacking bottles on top of each other. I am not a wine snob and don't buy $100 bottles, but something as simple as a $34 bottle of Hess Cabernet in a taller bottle won't fit between the shelves (too tight) or the depth (too long).
There is more room up top and I thought I would flip the temps and put reds up top (to hold the big bottles) and whites down below but you cannot do that either as the unit will not allow temps to match up. Whites have to go on top and Reds on the bottom.
I read the reviews before buying and nobody has mentioned this, so hopefully this helps you decide.

Are the shelves removable on this model (38 bottle wood shelving).
Yes they are. There are 5 wooden shelves which slide out and can be removed. The bottom has the small 2 shelf unit and that is removable too. I had to remove half of my shelves to stack odd shaped bottles to get them to fit.

Can this wine cooler be built in a cabinet?
I am purchasing a wine cooler to be built in my new home. Can this one be built in? I am not sure how to purchase one. It is the new Fidgedaire 38 bottle one.i need one that is nice looking, duel zone, stainless
No it can not. It does not have the proper cooling system or fans to be built into a cabinet. You will need to buy a specific type of unit which is designed for built-ins and be prepared to spend a minimum of 2x for one of those.

I see that the description says 5 wooden shelves. Does it come with the additional 2 shelve rack on the bottom that is shown I n the picture?
Yes it does. It is a unit all pre-assembled into a small 1/2 depth shelf with the top and bottom like the picture. That area holds 1/2 bottles really nicely
