The dumbest smart TV I’ve owned yet

In this case, you get what you pay for. I cursed Toshiba, Best Buy and Google for hours after discovering that unless you pair this TV with the internet (Googlecast) via a WiFi device, every time you turn the TV back on the input is reset to Google cast (not your desired HDMI input) and the Google cast setup screen reappears. I called Toshiba customer service to ask how to disable the Google cast setup, and they told me that many customers had complained about this, but that GOOGLE CAST SETUP CANNOT BE DISABLED. Refresh rate is only 60Hz. Internet and other web content options menu don’t nearly compare with other smart TV’s I’ve owned. The only nice thing I can say about this TV is that it was cheap. I’ll never buy another Google cast enabled TV if I can help it.

Great value, big screen

Love the biometric log-in/security and website log-on feature.
A good value. A bit large, but easier to work on spreadsheets with the larger screen.

Average TV for the price. The Chrome Cast is kind of a pain. It starts on that input menu when you turn it on, so you have to select your input for TV every time.

I too cursed this TV when I discovered the input would switch from HDMI back to Googler cast/Chromcast every time I turned on the TV. I called Toshiba customer support to ask how to disable this and they said IT CANNOT BE DISABLED. I finally relented to pairing the TV with my iPhone, and only then would the TV return to my selected HDMI input upon powering-up, instead of that damned Google cast setup screen. I'll never buy another TV with built-in Google cast if I can help it.

This TV sucks save your money. That have cast form your phone and does not even do it in 4k. Not able to get apps or setup to wifi

Toshiba customer support 855-527-2411. The answer to my question was honest, but left me outraged.

what is chromecast built in.
Sorry, I can't resist being a wiseguy here. Chomecast is a feature that will force a Chromecast setup screen on you na return your input setting to Goolge cast every time you turn your TV on unless/until you submit to pairing this TV with the internet via your Apple or Android device. I'll never buy another TV with built-in Chromecast or Google cast.

My 55 toshiba turns itself on. HELP
A real pain isn't it? I called Toshiba customer service and they told me that the Google cast/Chromecast setup screen appearing upon turning on the TV, and worse, changing your input to Google cast instead of your desired HDMI input, could NOT BE DISABLED. Only after I relented and setup the TV's WiFi and paired with my iPhone did that Google cast setup screen stop coming up and the TV retain the last selected HDMI input. I was not warned about this when I purchased the TV and was madder than a wet hen when I encountered this problem.
