Well, we will see how this refrigerator works out. Normally I am a Samsung and/or LG fan however after looking at this refrigerator online and in the stores along with some substantial due diligence about KitchenAid products and reading all of the great reviews I decided to pull the trigger on purchasing this unit along with a really nice four door LG unit at nearly the same time. This Kitchenaid unit has had some challenges with frost building up in the bottom freezer area about every month. I have had two different repair specialists look at the unit and no one can find where the air is leaking into the bottom freezer. The next time this happens I will ask them to replace the entire bottom freezer draw and the freezer gasket. mean while the LG four door unit has had no problems what so ever. I will update this review as time passes to see just how KitchenAid decides how to deal with this unit and if they are going to make me wait a year or more before I have a problem free refrigerator.

Unit broke in less than 3 days after delivery. Contacted Samsung support twice. Was speaking to someone each time they put me on hold to do some research on why my frig was telling me one or more doors were open when they were not. I opened and closed each door several times with no change in the beeping or error codes. The frig temperature was 7 degrees above where I set it (38f) and one freezer was also 7 degrees above (-2). The other freezer was at temp (-2). Then both times got disconnected from Samsung support with no call back attempts. What is super funny is that is the very first question they ask you; what number can we contact you back at if for some reason we are disconnected. After two disconnects with no call back from Samsung, I thought no way in "you know what" I will keep this frig being that Samsung has horrible customer service and customer support. I really wished this frig worked out because it is the one both my wife and I wanted from the start however there was no way at all I was going to pay $5500 for this unit; have it break in less than one week and then depend upon Samsung for support. I swapped this unit out for a Kitchen Aid 5 draw unit. It is a bit smaller in cubic feet but I feel assured that Kitchen Aid will support me. I sent the Samsung executive management team an e-mail Officeofthepresident@sea.samsung.com explaining why I had returned their frizz which was basically a complete lack of trust in their ability to support the unit. When on the phone with the support tech, I was under the impression that I knew more about the unit than they did. When I asked tough questions, I was put on hold for "research" and then the line went dead. They are also hard to understand as Samsung must have offshore'd their support to another country. KitchenAid support resources speak English that I could completely understand. And here is the very best part... Samsung makes a very cool application for a smart phone that allows the owner to remote into the unit and see what is going on with the Frig. I downloaded the app, installed it and attempted to connect it to my wifi. No go. The app would never see my wifi (I have 7 routers BTW so the gas station 1 mile away can see my routers). When I contacted Samsung support, they told me yes that they had an Apple App for the frig but that it did not work. If I wanted to have this app, I would need to (Wait for it..... Wait for it....) Buy a Samsung cell phone. :-) This is how Samsung hopes to corner the cell phone market. Force you to buy their cell phones if you want any of their apps to work. OMG... too funny... Anyway I will take Samsung off of my manufacture list for future purchases. Yea! less work for me.

I spent a lot of time researching this and other drives; prob too much time.
I finally jumped in and purchased the drive thinking that the drive speed would be less than stellar as compared to the newer 1GB Flash drives.
I plugged this into my laptop and holy shnikey... This drive halls butt.
I wish I had made this purchase about a year earlier!!! Fast, cheap enough and very easy to use.

Why does my LG french door refrigerator icemaker only make about three glasses full of ice in a day?
There only two of us living here, myself and my husband. We have had to purchase an additional portable icemaker in order to have ice. Ridiculous, you spend a couple thousand dollars and you expect it to produce. The rest of the fridge is great. Just the icemaker is #@;(.
Mine makes as much ice as I need and we use a lot of ice. My guess is that you do not have the freezer temperature turned down enough. I have mine set at 0 degrees which I think is the default temp for the freezer area.

Does the Samsung 22.5 Cu. Ft. counter depth come without the in door water and ice dispenser?
Yes, the through the door water and ice is there and works well. There is a button to press to change from water to ice. Ice is either cubed or crushed. If you use crushed ice, make sure your glass is high enough to capture all of the ice as if not you will end up with crushed ice everywhere.

Does the fridge come with a filter for the water?
Yes, the unit comes with a water filter and filter replacements are very reasonable in price.
