I love toasted sandwiches, I could live off them. Having gone without a toaster for a few years I decided to buy this one. Well I have done a load of experiments and this product totally fails at its job. If your sandwich has cheese in it, it melts out...everytime. I followed the recipes suggested exactly, weighing each ingredient. The only way to keep it in is to gently rest the lid on the bread....the cheese sometimes stays in, but then the sandwich is not sealed and falls about when you take it out. Toasted tuna....same thing. Chicken Mayo, same thing. You have to be so stingy on the ingredients to make this work (like 1 tbls of tuna mix for a whole sandwich!). Plus the bread plates don't fit any known brand of bread sold in my County! (trust me, I measured!) so if it seals at the top, the sides are open.
Then the clean up comes. For some reason it has been designed with nooks and crannies everywhere that fill up with gunk. It took me about 20 minutes to clean after each time, using sponges, paper towels and toothpicks. I still can't get it out of the coiled electrical thing at the back....that can't be bad right?
Overall a waste of time completely.
What's great about it: It was cheap and it arrived quickly.
