Good budget headphones for everyday use.
on December 4, 2023
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
These won't blow you away with their sound quality, but for the retail price they are an excellent option for ANC wireless headphones for everyday use for those people who don't feel like spending several hundred dollars on ANC headphones.
The overall sound quality is fairly balanced, but these don't get extremely loud. You may find that you have the volume turned up higher than other similar headphones you have used in the past. This is kind of par for the course for Soundcore wireless headphones. The bass capability on these is decent, but they won't be the headphones to pick if you really want bumping bass.
The ANC on these headphones is above average in this price range. It won't completely block out the outside noise, but it does a good job of lessening the world around you to a certain degree. These also have an ambient mode that allows you to hear the world around you, which I find I use as much or more than the ANC. The sound quality doesn't change much when the ANC is turned on, which seems to be an issue with some of the lesser priced ANC headphones. These are also co.parible with the Soundcore app.

Solid external HDD for many uses
on October 12, 2023
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
First thing I noticed when picking up the box was how light it was. Unpacking the box you find the USB 3.0 cable and the drive. When I picked up the drive out of the packaging I honestly thought it was an empty case. The drive is incredibly light weight and fairly small form factor.
It's been a few years since I got a new external HDD and those I have, even the 1TB capacity, are much heavier than this easystore drive. There are no lights on the drive to indicate activity or power status. When I plugged it in I really did think it was an empty case and no drive inside. Once plugged in the drive popped up on my PC as active. Clicking on the drive and going to properties, the drive has 931 GB of free space and there are Wester Digital applications ore-installed for both PC and Mac if you want to use those. I never do that and just use the drive freely for storage of personal files, pictures and downloads.
The drive transfers at a speedy rate and I have had no issues playing anything off the drive installed when connected to my home PC or laptop. This is a nice and simple drive for many uses.

Good speaker with a few faults
on September 19, 2023
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
I'll get the elephant in the room out of the way first. This speaker"s retail price is very pricey. At this price it's hard to recommend unless there is a substantial sale forthcoming. It's not a huge speaker, but also not small..
The Epicboom charges via ISB-C, which is pretty standard the past few years. This was in question due to their release last year with micro-usb. There is no 3.5mm jack for wired.use, so this is Bluetooth only. That's disappointing to see and limits the connectivity of the speaker. There is a strap on back to carry the speaker, but the rubber end is magnetic and sticks to the speaker, so it can be at times hard to get the strap separated to put your hand in-between. Mesh covered body with an odd matte black plastic base with white specs. This makes it look like it's dirty or dusty.
Performance wise the speaker uses the UE app and you can set custom EQ through that, which is a good thing. You can also pair multiples of these speakers together and it will even play wireless with other certain UE speakers such as the Hyperboom..sound quality is good overall, but bass heavy music can create some distortion.
So overall this is a pretty good speaker for most music, but not really optimal for bass heavy music. The price is really what makes me not want to recommend this one.

Needs a refresh to be up to date.
on September 2, 2023
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
The first thing noticed when taking this out of the box was how heavily it is. It's thicker than I expected chassis and the overall feel doesn't seem to be of the best quality. The included power brick is on the large size and you will need it to charge, since this laptop has no USB- C charging option.
As for USB- C goes there is only one port on this and three USB -A, so not really up to date with the ports. It would have been better to have more C ports than A.
The laptop itself, as a gaming laptop, is decent for average gaming. The Ryzen 7 processor is surprisingly peppy, but the AMD Radeon EX 655CM Graphics Card probably isn't up to par with it. This results in graphics intensive games being too taxing on the system unless you turn down the quality. So it's best for basic games and general use, certainly not a blazing performer for serious gaming.
Other positives are the things such as the nice keyboard with number pad, backlit to look slick. The battery life seems very respectable. The fans keep the system cool and don't sound like a prop plane ready for take off. 512gb SSD is just enough, but would be nice to have 1tb. Screen resolution1920x1080 seems sharp and no noticeable blurring.

Performance just doesn't match the price tag.
on May 5, 2023
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
First off, this isn't a bad speaker by any means. It has some good features and the build quality is nice. If you are familiar with other Marshall speakers, then you know they always make a quality looking speaker with that retro amp look to them. They are definitely eye catchers for the older crowd.
This Middleton is a medium sized portable speaker, meaning it does have an internal battery that can be recharged. A red battery indicator on top will let you easily see the battery life as the speaker is being used. There is an included carrying strap in the box that you can attach , but the plastic screw it is held on by might make it a little iffy to hang the speaker by, particularly if it is being moved around.
This speaker, much like the Emberton II, features active drivers on both the front and back of the cabinet. I'm not a big fan of this design, but it will give you equal sound both front and back if you place it say in the middle of a room. Sound quality is pretty solid, with bass and treble adjustments on the speaker, or via the app. The app is very bare bones, which is a bit of a disappointment.
The real issue with this speaker is price. For what you get, it's just really hard to justify the price tag. It doesn't really do anything great, with only decent bass capability and it doesn't get as loud as you might expect, partly because you never get the full power of the speaker in your direction. The bass does thin out and treble gets brighter when you turn it up to it's louder levels. So this speaker might appeal more to the older crowd that has enough money that the price on the Middleton really doesn't deter them.

Excellent 1080P gaming monitor, but a bit pricey.
on January 30, 2023
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
This Sony monitor is optimized for PS5, but weill work great for just about anything needing a monitor. We have a PS5, gaming PC and XBox One in the house and this monitor is aces with them all. The styling of the monitor is designed to look like the PS5 cabinet. You don't really notice this so much from the front, but the tripod leg and the back of the monitor has the white finish like the PS5. The bezel is also very thin, giving the monitor a clean, sharp look overall. It can also be raised or lowered to your preference.
Performance wise this is a top level 1080p monitor. The 1ms response time and 240Hz refresh rate offer performance that's hard to beat. Try going from a 10ms response and 60Hz monitor to this and it's like going from dial up internet to broadband. It's just a remarkable difference and makes gaming that much more enjoyable. The colors are vibrant and really pop, particularly on games that have a lot of brighter colors. I've not noticed any issues with ghosting or screen tearing while gaming.
So this has all sounded very positive, so why not 5 stars? The tripod stand, while looking cool, really uses up more footprint space than any other monitor I've ever used. The built-in speakers aren't up to what you would expect from Sony. And lastly, this monitor is a bit pricey in the 1080p market for 27" size compared to similar performing competitor 27" 1080p monitors.
Performance wise this is a top level 1080p monitor

Not a phone I would recommend for daily use
on November 19, 2022
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
First off, the phone itself feels fairly cheap. It has a more squared off style corner design, a little on the thick side and the plastic housing seems cheap. It reminds me of the size and build of cheap Windows phone I had years ago. Even the power/volume buttons and the way the feedback responds when you hit screen buttons feels cheap. At first glance this certainly doesn't look like a premium phone.
When setting this phone up you have the option to set up a fingerprint scan. I've done this with other phones without issue, but with this phone it is nearly impossible to get it set up. I tried on two different occasions and finally just gave up. It shouldn't be that hard to do, but Sony somehow managed to do just that.
This phone seems to have quite possibly the worst flashlight of any phone. It is a more yellowish light and dim. I use my phone flashlight fairly often and this one is awful. Worse than that, there is no option to adjust the brightness, which should be standard on Android, but not this phone. The audio offers several different customization options like Dolby Surround, 360 reality and DSEE Ultimate, which upscales compressed audio. That's all good and well, but this phone maximum output is about 60% of other phones I have tried. The audio is just low output and I see no way to change that. So if you were to have been using say a Bluetooth speaker on a different Android and switch to this, chances are the volume output of the Xperia 1 IX will be MUCH lower. For me, someone who listens to a lot of Bluetooth audio, this is a HUGE negative. No excuse for that.
Now the phone does have some pluses. The phone camera is outstanding and offers many customization options for video and photos. Games play without any significant issues and the screen is very nice.....but not durable. I found this the hard way and already have a cracked screen. Buy the thickest and most shock resistant screen protector/case you can find for this fragile phone.
So in the end, this premium priced phone has some impressive photo/video and processor options you would expect. It's the little things that this phone gets wrong, so wrong. For me this is a really bad fit and not a phone I would recommend.

A very nice smart 4k projector
on October 23, 2022
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
A very nice smart 4k projector for about any use. I know this is advertised as a gaming projector, but I'm not really sure why. Nothing on the box states anything about it being a gaming projector. It does claim less than 20ms response time, which for a serious or competitive gamer is still not really good. For casual gaming this will be perfectly acceptable. From my experience with PS5 on this, the controller response is solid, but not impressive.
This projector has Android TV and comes with two separate remotes for the projector itself and the Android TV. So you will have access to all your favorite apps and everything runs smoothly with no real lag when scrolling through media menus on various platforms. I think the app junkie will be more than pleased with what this projector has to offer.
The picture quality is very nice on the 2350. I'm running this on a 90" screen in a small room and the entire picture is sharp from middle to edge. No blurring or issues on corners or edges. This replaces my 1080p projector I've had for several years and the picture is a noticeable improvement, even with 1080p video. Streaming movies and also playing Blu-Ray and 4k UHD discs off my set top unit look great. Sports also look great, with no ghosting or other issues. Definitely a nice 4K projector for a variety of uses.

Great ANC Capability and Great App Support
on October 20, 2022
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
First off I will get the bad out of the way according to how I feel about these headphones. The sound quality is overall good, but these just aren't great headphones for bass lovers. So if you are somebody who really loves and craves deep and thumping bass in your headphones, please look elsewhere. Not that the bass is really lacking, however. The Q45 is just a more balanced sound. The build quality while good overall, still is lacking a bit in some areas. Not much padding in the top of the headband and these are a bit on the heavy side. The earpads are fairly soft, but the vinyl will get your ears sweating when it's hot outside or inside. These are also a bit bulky looking on your head and there is quite a bit of space between the side of your head and the headband.
So with that out of the way, on to the positives. Balanced sound, as previously mentioned. That is a good thing to some people. I strongly suggest downloading the Soundcore app as it has a slew of EQ options for the Q45 and you can set multiple custom EQ's and name them whatever you want. I do wish the custom EQ went lower than 100Hz, which isn't very deep in lower range.
The ANC is the real star of the show here. At this price point these have outstanding ANC. You also have ambient/transparency and normal modes which can be switched from the headphones themselves or the app. The sound signature doesn't really change when you switch ANC on like you might find in other headphones in this price range. Anker just nailed the ANC for the Q45 mid range headphones.
So overall the Q45 is a really nice pair of ANC headphones with impressive battery life and LDAC hi-res support, as well. The app has other options like wind reduction, custom noise cancellation and safe volume setting. Again, definitely DL the Soundcore app if you haven't already. So I would recommend the Q45 to anybody who wants a rock solid pair of ANC headphones at a very fair price for what you get. They just aren't the most stylish or comfortable ones out there.

Good overall, but could be better.
on September 17, 2022
Posted by: MIXMASTERICE
To start with, out of the box you only get a disposable bag that these come in. It would have been nice if these at least came in a protective cloth pouch with a drawstring, or even better a zippered case. So if you want to take these on the go with you it might be wise to buy a carrying case. The headset is a mix of plastic and metal, with a little weight to them. The overall build quality is decent enough, but not premium. Earcups appear to just be foam, not memory foam. They can get a little hot after extended use. Comfort is pretty decent and these don't have excessive clamping force.
Perforamce wise these are good, but not great. I think the overall volume could be a little louder. If you like your games or audio loud, these aren't the loudest. You can download the Steelseries software and do quite a bit of tweaking to the sound, however. The controls are fairly well laid out, but I'm not the biggest fan of the push-button to mute. Microphone is just okay and it seems to pick up too much ambient noise.
So overall these are worth a look, but there is room for improvement. I think these would hold up well to a teenager who tends to abuse their equipment

Great quality non-smart tv

Really like the tv. Picture and sound quality are great and the tv is a good value because it isn't burdened with "smart" tv features or 3D. I was disappointed that it didn't have PIP. I didn't even think to look twice as I thought that was a pretty basic feature.

Excellent considering the price
By HABABONE from New Berlin, WI
Pros: Paid $50 for a pair during Black Friday which is one heck of an deal. Polk makes nice looking speakers with pretty good audio quality. T15 are perfect computer speakers, small enough to be placed almost any where, and more powerful than your typical Creative or Logitech speakers. The biggest downside I had was using bookshelf speakers as part of my home theater 7.1 setup, something T15s cannot handle.
Cons: I purchased T15s speakers to complete my 7.1 Surround Sound setup. I'm using Polk Monitor 75s for my front, Polk 70S for my rear, Polk TSX150C for my center, and BIC F12 for my Subs. Upon testing my floor standing speakers completely drowns out these book shelf speakers, I couldn't even tell they were on unless I put my ears right next to them or turn all speakers volume down to -2 and kept the T15 at 10. So I sold this model to my brother for the same price to upgrade his PC speakers, at which they sound great.
Other Thoughts
For PC speakers I would rate these and 5 out of 5, but for home theater setups with floor standing speakers, you will be better off going with Polk Monitors 40-45 for $120-80.

I have the Monitor 70 Series II for fronts, as well as Monitor 50 Series II for side surrounds. I'm currently using the T15's for rear surround. You must have set up your system wrong or something. I have my surround setup perfectly balanced and in no way do the T15's not hold up their end of the sound chain. Run an auto setup or tweak it yourself, but there should be no reason you can't hear the T15's clearly. Perhaps you were using a receiver mode that didn't properly use the speakers?

Great compact stereo
By GrannyandGrampy247
Our 14 yr. old grandson had picked this stereo out after testing ALL the stereos on ALL the shelves. He is very meticulous about his musical instruments, speakers, headphones and ear buds and when he heard the sounds, tones and bass come out of this compact stereo he was gleaming. Just as they were about to close his brother reached up and found the button that turned on the lights in the speaker! That was priceless!! He had asked for a speaker with lights in it. It works great! People were awesome, got a price match ad, they helped us wrap it up to hide it the day we purchased it! The quality and sound and functionality is a 10 out 10. We have had it for about a month now.
