This kit includes both local and remote units to display a VGA signal on up to 4 monitors at once from 1 source using standard Cat-5 network patch cable.

Set this up over the weekend for a hotel client. The DVR for the hotels security cameras was located on a second floor which had all the live camera feeds displayed on a monitor connected directly to the DVR VGA out port. An existing identical monitor was located in the lobby area on the first floor near the check-in desks. The StarTech VGA video extender was used to duplicate the DVR live video feed to the lobby monitor over an existing network cable run. The network cable run was cat6 at a little over 100ft. Picture at the local and remote ends was nice and clear. For the local unit you will need to use a VGA video extension cable which has male and female ends to connect to the local unit VGA input port which is male.

Simple setup, just in time for speed upgrade

Time Warner cable in Hawaii recently bumped up their monthly modem lease fee to $5.99 from $3.99. Seemed like a good time to buy my own modem. I picked this one based on TW cable supported modem list and the numerous positive reviews. This modem also supports all the internet service levels available from TW cable in Hawaii including Turbo and Extreme. The setup was straightforward, coax, power in and Ethernet cable to router. Opened a chat with TW cable through my phone hotspot and laptop, provided the mac address and serial # and that was it. Up and running from my desktop in a matter of minutes. After switching from tech support chat to sales chat, I had the service upgraded to the next speed level. Reset the modem and was up and running again at the faster speed. I did have to reset my router after the speed upgrade. My only minor issue with the modem is the brightness of the lights and especially the orange blinking light. But if that doesn't bother or matter to you then this would be a recommended buy. I was also able to price match this with Amazon in-store.
What's great about it: Small form factor
What's not so great: Lights are too bright

No fuss easy setup and good range

Bought this for my parents 2 story house and set it up right in the middle of the house down stairs. The range covers all of downstairs into the garage as well as all the bedrooms upstairs. I was almost thinking about getting a wifi range booster at the same time just in case but it looks like I wont need to. The web based setup is straightforward. I usually disable the WPS function which was easy to do. I like that this router will check for firmware updates, download and upgrade with just a couple clicks.

Easy, quick replacement for an old XP machine

Picked this up from Best Buy on the way to a customer that had a PC reporting imminent hard drive failure. Opened up the PC, connected this drive with the included Sata cable to an open Sata port on the motherboard and had the failing drive imaged to this new drive in less than 30min. Rebooted the PC from newly imaged drive, logged in and all was well. Drive installed easily and performance was perhaps slightly better than the original drive.
