Amazing laptop for creatives, office or school
on July 28, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
Summary:
This laptop is outstanding in almost every way! It is perfect for creatives but also amazing for everyone else. The new Ryzen 9HX 370 processor is something to behold. I primarily do photo editing, light video edits, gaming, and office work and this is the perfect laptop for my needs!
Pros:
-Amazing screen
-Powerful and efficient processor
-Fast SSD and RAM
-Loud and clear speakers
-Durability
-Upgradable and easily repairable
Cons:
-Screen is very reflective
-NPU is not widely supported yet
-Front-facing camera low quality
Build quality:
The laptop feels more like a 15” laptop to me thanks to the minimal bezels on the screen. The overall build is hard to tell what it is made out of in various areas because of the new “nano-black” coating which covers the entirety of the unit. Still, the build is either a lightweight metal or sturdy plastic. Either way, this unit is built to last as Asus claims that it exceeds MIL-STD 810H specifications and can withstand dust, sand, and 95% relative humidity. The only part which showed any flex was the keyboard, but only slightly. The overall style is very professional with minimal “showy” aesthetics. The monitor is sturdy in whichever position it is in.
Speakers:
The six speakers sound amazing and get LOUD! 50% was a bit too loud for me so I never went past that in my testing. The system only supports 16bit 48khz through the speakers. Plugging in my headphones, it allows for 24bit 96khz which was nice. The speakers sound best with Dolby Atmos enabled in the settings.
Screen:
This screen is amazing! The only feature the screen is lacking is a high refresh rate. It is limited to 60hz, but it does feel smoother than other laptops I have tried with 60hz and was rarely an issue in my testing. The OLED is stunning at 3840x2400 4k resolution. The screen supports 10bit HDR at 500 nits but if you use this it will disable DC Dimming which can be controlled in the MyAsus app.
The touchscreen is great and supports MPP 2.0, so I could use my Surface Pen Slim with it with no issues. The screen also has Gorilla Glass NBT for added durability and scratch resistance. It supports 100% DCP-P3, so with the large canvas and amazing color accuracy, you will love editing photos and videos on this. Though the screen has high reflectivity, I would have preferred a matte finish.
Performance:
The new Ryzen HX370 series is amazing! Benchmarks are at the bottom of the review, but I was stunned by how well it performs and how efficient it is for x86. The SSD is extremely fast providing read speeds around 5000 MB/s and the included LPDDR5X RAM is going at a fast 7500mhz. there is nothing you will not be able to do with this machine. The GeForce 4060 is wonderful for rendering and gaming and the integrated Radeon 860M is plenty quick while running on battery. The laptop mostly runs silent unless you are rendering, gaming, or exporting photos with the only part getting hot being the back. The device used liquid metal which is great for transferring heat.
Of note, the NPU does not get much of a workout at the time of this review. There are multiple AI apps included with the device, but they all use the CPU and not the NPU as demonstrated in the performance tab of task manager. I was not able to find “Studio Effects” which usually supports the NPU for camera features, maybe this will roll out later.
The NPU supports 50 TOPS, but the laptop does not currently support any copilot features even though there is a copilot key on the keyboard. This is supposed to roll out in a future update to x86 machines.
Battery life:
With a very efficient processor, it runs at a base of 2 GHz and can boost up to 5.1 GHz. When set to whisper mode (in the MyAsus app) and best power efficiency in Windows, a 45-minute show streamed on the Edge browser only drained 6% of battery. I then watched a 60-minute show on Standard / balanced settings which drained a bit more at 11%. If you ensure you are using the proper power mode for your needs, this laptop will easily run all day for office work and light editing. At high power, it will drain fairly fast with the high-powered hardware.
Connectivity:
All the ports you need are here including HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 C, USB 3.2 A (x2,), USB 4.0 C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an SD Express 7.0 card reader. The power uses a proprietary port for the 200W adaptor, but you can use USB-C if you wish, I wouldn’t expect to do anything power-intensive with that option. After opening the device, there is a removable MediaTek MT7925 adaptor providing Wi-Fi 7 and BT 5.4 so this will be future-proof for a decent amount of time.
Keyboard and mouse:
The keyboard is great, but it took a little getting used to due to the placement of the large speaker grills. Buttons are nicely placed and had good travel. The mouse is accurate and very large. The DialPad is a neat feature, but it will take some tweaking with the included software to get the full use out of it. When using it, you can change brush sizes, font sizes, volume control, scroll through photos, or anything else you might wish to assign to it. It can easily be turned off when not in use with a swipe from the upper right.
Repairability:
The laptop is extremely easy to open with 11 six-sided star screws (two are hidden under rubber feet). Once you pry it open, most components are easily accessible and easily replaceable with various Phillips screws.
The SSD and Wi-Fi module are replaceable and there is an extra slot for a 2280 NVME drive on the left side. The RAM is soldered on and is not replaceable. All other components such as the battery, fans, etc. are replaceable.
Benchmarks:

Lightroom AI denoise: 11 seconds

Great for any device
on July 2, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
I love this mouse for Mac and PC. Though it is branded as “for Mac” it works great on both. It is smaller in size for portability and is very reliable with outstanding performance.
Pros:
-Comfort
-Battery life
-Connectivity
-Accuracy
Cons:
-Size
I set it up on my Mac Mini, iPad Pro and a Windows Laptop. Both paired just fine with the mouse having three devices you can pair it to in memory with a button on the bottom to select which one you will connect to. I was initially very impressed with how quiet the mouse clicks are. The scroll wheel has two settings with clicks or smooth scrolling. If you install the Logi Options software, you can adjust the tension in the mouse wheel clicks.
Connectivity is amazing as you pair it via Bluetooth or via the Logi Options dongle (not included). There is a USB-C connection, but it is for charging. My unit arrived with 56% battery, and I have not needed to charge it yet after a week or so of testing.
The mouse is extremely smooth compared to other mice with its 8000 DPI. This is very impressive for a portable travel mouse. When using it with the iPad, the mouse scrolls much smoother than I am used to seeing. On Mac or PC, you can adjust your DPI in the Logi Options software but keep in mind your DPI will affect your scroll speed with a higher setting being more sensitive. The sweet spot I found on my devices was about 5000 DPI. If you have an extremely high-resolution monitor and need additional accuracy, a higher DPI might benefit you more.

Great on desktop and mobile
on June 25, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
The software has been greatly simplified over the years and is overall uncluttered in the latest release. Most included features are extremely easy to access and use. There is also very little clutter and ads in this version, which is extremely welcome as the software is mostly unobtrusive. The number one perk is to be able to use it on unlimited devices.
Installation:
The process is very straightforward. After entering your key (digital version), I downloaded the file and installed it as normal with a reboot after. The software was ready to go after. I do recommend you go into Windows Defender and turn on “Periodic Scanning” as an extra layer of protection as it does not interfere with the McAfee software.
Use:
As stated, the software is very straightforward as per my screenshots. Most of the included features are included in the software and the only web-based features are Identity Monitoring, Online Account Cleanup, and Password Manager. These are all optional. I find that it does not use too many resources (processor time) but does average at about 300mb of RAM usage which I do not consider too bad.
I also tested it on mobile and I was surprised how good the software is on android. Aside from the usual VPN and virus scans (which you may or may not need as some brands include that in their phones), there are many extra features such as social media scans to ensure your accounts are set up properly for your level of interaction, online account cleanup (allowing you to tie a google or yahoo login account and have it scan which accounts you use it to log in are secure or not), credit monitoring (vantage 3), identity restoration, and so much more. I was very surprised by the mobile version as it has more features than the desktop version. You will have to be ok with giving up a lot of access to personal information in order to gain access to all these features though so that is up to you.

Great for any system!
on June 23, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
These are outstanding headphones for pretty much any system. They work best with PS5 and PC but have wide compatibility with the included 3.5mm cable. I got them primarily for PS5 gaming, but I have also started using them as my primary PC headset for gaming and music since they are extremely comfortable for long time wear, have great audio quality and insane battery life.
Pros:
- 50-hour battery life
- 24-bit 96khz audio (PC)
- Wireless and wired compatibility
- Easy to hear external noises with floating ear cup
- Easy to update
Cons:
- Uses Swarm II software (PC)
- Large
First use:
I first tried my unit with the PS5 using the 2.4ghz adapter. The setup was instant as they are already paired, all you need to do is turn on the headphones and select it in the menu as the output device. I was very impressed with the quality of the audio as well as the ability to hear my kids in the background since the design has floating ear cups.
Next, I tried it on my PC. I listen to a lot of HD audio, so I was intrigued by the 24bit 96khz support with the wireless adapter. Again, setup was instant, and I selected the desired output in the sound settings. One thing I found interesting is the Swarm II software will update the device wirelessly with the adapter, so no USB cable is needed to update the device.
I also tried Bluetooth on mobile and 3.5mm audio with my Xbox and Switch, all work well with no hiccups. Controls work nicely with an input button, power button and a dial to change volume on the left ear cup. The mic boom goes up and down to enable or disable.
You can install the Turtle Beach Swarm II software for updates, but that is about all it does. The device comes with a 3.5mm cable, USB cable, 2.4ghz adapter, mic boom with pop filter and a cloth bag.
The ear cups are easy to replace and are very comfortable memory foam with cloth lining.
Sound quality:
I was very impressed by the audio while gaming and music. Music feels well balanced with bass that is not too heavy while still feeling full. HD audio is reasonable up to 24bit 96khz which can be used with Apple Music, Tidal or any other file or service of your choice. The is a good sound stage with a decent amount separation between speakers. I mainly listen to Punk / Alt rock and EDM. Drum symbols are district and bass guitars are clear without overpowering anything. Vocals are clear and crisp.
Gaming:
There is a perfect amount of balance here to hear the environment as well as punch when doing things such as shooting at enemies in Doom or Destiny 2. I was impressed by the engine noises and sound separation when playing Forza Horizon as it greatly enhanced the experience. I have nothing to complain about here! I used it with Dolby Atmos, but it should support Waves 3d Audio as well.
For games that support voice, the mic is very clear and comes with a foam pop filter if you wish to install it. It supports 32khz which is plenty for game talk for clear audio.

Great even if you don't own an alpha camera
on June 7, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
This is a great microphone for many uses. My favorite feature is how versatile it is where you can record directly to USB, wirelessly to a camera or wirelessly to your computer. The quality is outstanding both in hardware and sound.
Pros:
- Sound quality
- Compact
- Sturdy
- Versatile connectivity
- Ease of use
- Both units use USB-C
Cons:
- Might need you to read the instructions initially
Unboxing & first impressions:
The packaging is your typical Sony Alpha box with orange and white design loaded with warranty info and cardboard. In the box you will find the microphone, a cloth case, the receiver, a pop guard and a stand. I was initially impressed by how sturdy the device feels. All buttons and knobs feel high quality. The design is great and matches any of your Sony Alpha equipment (not required). Be sure to charge the receiver and microphone after unboxing as my unit came without a charge.
Use:
My first test was a simple one with recording to my laptop via USB-C. Everything was plug and play and very easy to use. The sound quality was amazing compared to what I was previously used to, and the pop guard does its job. The first thing I was impressed by is the LED meter on the front of the microphone that goes from white to orange so you can better adjust your volume and gain, plus it just looks cool.
I then connected the receiver to my a6500 camera. Some cameras will require the receiver to be in “analog” mode such as mine, but newer cameras or higher end ones will work with the “digital mode” which will give you less audio delay, less noise and 24-bit audio straight to your video. It worked great in analog mode and was immediately detected by my camera. This setup is best if you want the audio directly on your SD card in sync with the video
Last, I connected the receiver to my laptop and wirelessly used the microphone, again all items work flawlessly with outstanding sound quality. This setup is extremely useful for interviews and podcasts if you want to edit the audio later.
Other features:
You can switch the directional mode of the camera, adjust low cut/noise cut, use a 3.5mm mic out, mute button, adjust gain, and even support CL3 plus codec. I haven’t used it enough to drain the battery yet but in my few hours of playing with it, it has not died yet, I would bring a battery brick with you if you planned some off-site recording though just to be safe as the battery is not swappable.

Perfect for gamers, creators and programmers!
on April 22, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
Wow, this laptop is amazing! Build quality, screen quality, audio, performance, everything is amazing! I have used many laptops over the years, and this is as close to a perfect portable laptop that can be used for gaming and business as I have ever seen. Gamers and creatives will love it. The styling is not fully gamer specific so I would feel comfortable taking this into work or a coffee shop.
Pros:
-Screen quality
-Audio quality
-Gaming performance
-Connectivity
-Runs cool
-Professional looks
Cons:
-Battery life isn’t the longest
Build quality:
After unboxing and setting it up, I was very impressed with the build quality of this device. The chassis is aluminum and feels very sturdy with very little flex in the keyboard. Some parts are glass such as the power button and large trackpad. All seams are flush and appear to have precise engineering. The dash lighting is neat and can do patterns or sync up to audio. The keyboard has its own lighting you can configure to your liking.
Gaming:
Getting to the main point of this machine, it is a gaming powerhouse! All tests and benchmarks were conducted using Turbo performance mode at maximum resolution with HDR enabled when available. VSYNC is also off in all tests. Also, default drivers are GeForce Studio drivers for creatives, but you can easily switch over to game drivers in the GeForce Experience app. The GeForce 4070 runs at 90W.
Destiny 2 performs very well. At highest settings & full resolution, you can expect 60 FPS when things get intense. If you want a higher framerate with little loss of fidelity, high settings result in 80-90 FPS.
Doom Eternal worked at 120 FPS on average on Ultra Nightmare settings with Ray Tracing off. If you want to use Ray Tracing, I recommend turning down the settings or resolution as at max resolution at Ultra Nightmare, frame rates went to 40 FPS with some stutter.
The Horizon Zero Dawn benchmark provided an average of 91 FPS. The game looks amazing with HDR on this screen and never bogs down.
Alan Wake looks beautiful, but you will likely need to play with settings you are happy with. I tested it on the Quality DLSS setting with all other settings maxed out including raytracing. At best you can expect 30 FPS, at worst, single digits. Turning off Ray Tracing and keeping everything else the same things seemed to average around 40 FPS. Keep in mind this game is very demanding.
Heat management:
I was very impressed with how this machine keeps up with temperatures. While on external power, the CPU hovers around 71C in performance mode. While gaming or rendering something, the most I saw was 91C for the CPU, 83C for the GPU and fans around 45 dBA. When not gaming, the fans are usually very quiet. Cooling is advertised as using liquid metal. Heat blows out under and behind the screen.
On battery in silent mode (great for work and school), the CPU hangs out around 56C. I only lost about 4% while typing this review which I did take my time on while listening to music.
Display:
This screen is beautiful! At 2880x1800 16:10 it runs at 3K 243 PPI. No matter how close I put my face to the screen, I cannot discern any pixels at all. It supports Dolby Vision at 500 nits so your games should look amazing in HDR, just be sure to turn it on in Windows settings. The screen is great for creators and gamers alike as the refresh rate is 2ms and supports 100% DCI-P3. I do photography so this is perfect for my situation. The OLED colors pop out. The ROG Armory Crate app has some additional OLED protection settings you should check out as the screen supports DC dimming.
Audio:
The 6 speakers sound loud and impressive. There is plenty of base for listening to music. There is some distortion over 50% but at that volume it is already outrageously loud. I recommend setting Dolby Atmos to Dynamic in the settings. Of note, the Realtek Audio setup only supports 16 bit 44,000 hz, you might want to consider a DAC if you do any audio engineering.
Connectivity:
There are a plethora of high end ports here. On the left side is the power input, a USB-C 4 port which supports DP 2.0 and PD 3.0 at 40Gbps, HDMI 2.1 port, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port at 10 Gbps and a headphone jack. On the right side is another USB-C port supporting DP 1.4 at 10Gbps, a Micro SD card slot supporting UHS II and a USB-A port identical to the other one. Wi-Fi connects to my WiFi6e network with no issue and Bluetooth 5.3 is supported.
Battery:
Battery life is fed from a 73Wh battery. It is sufficient for most people, but the Ryzen processors do not have any efficiency cores as it has 8 general purpose cores (and 16 threads). I get decent battery life for work, but if you intend to use anything with the included Radeon 780 GPU or GeForce 4070 on battery, you are better off plugging it in. For simple web browsing and typing, the battery should be fine for a day. It charges quickly with the 180W adaptor.
Benchmarks:
With 32 GB of DDR5X 6400 RAM and a PCIE 4.0 NVME 1TB hard drive, performance is great all around as well as the processor and GPU setup. This hard drive is fast btw.
Geekbench 6 CPU - Single Core: 2267 Multi Core: 12320
Geekbench 6 OpenCL - 4070: 113271
Geekbench 6 Vulkan - 4070: 112749
GeekbenchML CPU - 3159
GeekbenchML DirectML - 4070: 12944
Lightroom export 24MP 156 photos - 2 min 31 sec
Cinebench R23 multicore: 15127
CrystalDiskMark: Read: 5015 MB/s Write 3553 MB/s
Repairability / upgradability:
I attached a photo of the internals. Otherwise, I would give it a near perfect score with the exception of RAM as it is soldered onto the motherboard, so be sure to get the RAM setup you want as you cannot upgrade it later. The bottom lid is held on with 11 hex screws, two of which are hidden under rubber stoppers. Prying the lid off is a bit of a challenge as the fit is near perfect, but once you get a plastic tool under a corner, you can slide it in the direction of the other corner which will pop off the front making the rest easy. Inside you can upgrade the SSD and replace nearly every part aside from the RAM easily.

Great quality &packed with features/accessories
on April 15, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
Summary: Overall, great quality and overall safety features. There are a few points I feel could be done better, but this is a great purchase for a front and rear dash cam that is easy to set up.
Pros:
-Build quality
-1440P resolution
-Easy set up
-Easy to use app
Cons:
-App (desktop and phone) feel outdated
-Rear camera might need extra work
-Separate GPS module
-Website needs work
-Speaker sounds muffled
Unboxing:
The bundle is packed with items! Inside you will find the front and rear camera, 32GB Micro SDHC UHS1 Class 10 card, extra adhesive, a front window adhesive mount, a GPS module (with adhesive), a hardwire cable connection, a DC lighter power cable, a long cable for front to rear connection, a plastic stick to assist with routing the cables. There was no documentation, only a card with QR codes.
Set up:
I took out the included Micro SD card, which I was surprised was of decent quality and capacity, and downloaded the latest firmware from the website onto it. I also used the QR codes for setup information but the link was broken. I suggest just going to www.thinkware.com and navigating from there. I started with the front module. I was unable to ensure it was centered as recommended due to my dash set up so I had to place it offset. I do not believe the safety features (explained later) work too well unless centered. The adhesive is extremely sticky so make sure to align it properly the first time. For cable routing, I used a hardwired approach to my ground and jumpers. This is not too hard so long as you can identify your jumpers. The plastic tool made moving weather stripping and molding very easy. After a test run, it worked great, did a firmware update from the file I installed and was ready to go. I realized I forgot the GPS so I plugged that in and installed it to the right a few inches away. I was surprised the GPS is not built in as it requires extra cable routing and another module that is somewhat unsightly. I highly recommend using it since you won’t get location or speed information in your videos without it, it is not for navigation. The device supports up to 256GB MicroSD card expansion.
Next, I set up the rear camera. This was a bit more tricky, especially if you are installing on a hatch such as a hatchback or SUV. It is easiest on a sedan or any other car where the rear windshield does not move. If you want to properly install it on a hatch, mount it and route the cable through the electrical cable tubing which you might have to remove. Getting the long cable seamlessly to the front camera is also a challenge that might require some creativity if you want it to be invisible. You might want to consider professional installation for this.
Once all set up, both cameras work great and are easy to view in the phone or mobile app.
Daily use:
The device works effortlessly and mostly invisibly as it should. I set mine up to do parking recording which requires hard wiring or the optional OBD connector. This will allow you to do continuous recording, timelapse, or incident detected recordings while parked. There are also safety features you can set up such as collision detection (fast or slow), lane departure warning and more. I left mine off since my unit is not perfectly centered which can lead to false alarms. You might not also need this if you have similar built in features in your car. I am not a fan of the speaker on the device which sounds low quality and muffled when talking to you.
After recording, it is easy to get videos off your device. Either take out the Micro SD card and plug it into your computer where you can get the direct file or use the Thinkware Dashcam PC viewer to browse. Or, you can connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi directly with the app. Both apps feel old and in need of a redesign, but they are functional and get to the point. They both allow you to see front and rear video in sync which is extremely helpful for any analysis. The PC app also displays relevant speeds and X, Y, Z accelerometer data. They also make downloading and export easy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stylish razor, hits all the basics
on April 13, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
Summary: The Philips Norelco 2600 is a good electric razor that keeps a stylish look while performing well. I would say it is more basic in terms of the range of options, but it has all the things that are important. I really like the sea foam green color.
Pros:
-Stylish
-Well built
-Works great
Cons:
-USB-A charging
-No Charger
-Basic accessories
Unboxing: Inside the box you will find the razor, a USB-A charging cable (the other end is a typical Norelco plug), travel pouch, razor cover, and documentation. The razor feels like high quality plastic and has a nice rubber grip under the head. The rear is a bit more slippery but has a diamond texture to help with grip. There is no power adapter included.
Use: My unit came uncharged, so it took a few hours to charge with the low wattage USB-A cable. The power indicator flashes when charging and stays steady, then turns off when charged. The box advertises one shave after five minutes of charging or 50 minutes of use after a one-hour charge. The battery is NiMH for anyone curious. The first shave was just as good as any Norelco razor I have used before. The three heads swivel with their 4D flex head design. I was happy to see the rear has a pop-up trimmer built in. It can be used when wet or dry.
Cleaning: Keeping the unit clean is easy, simply pop open the head and rinse. I would recommend you get a small brush to keep it clean down the road and get out small particles.

Great for beginner and advanced users!
on January 2, 2024
Posted by: psyclopps
Summary:
I was very happy to receive this wallet as it adds a touch screen which greatly improves the user interface compared to other wallets with limited sets of buttons, The device itself works great with the software suite and keeps things relatively simple on the surface for beginners while having advances features for power users that want to dig further into the software. There are a few quarks but overall, this is a great crypto wallet!
Pros:
-Form factor
-Touch screen
-Software ease of use
-Security options
-Set up
-Web interface option
Cons:
-Touch screen very recessed (makes pressing hard)
-Adhesive residue
-Limited surface level coin support (for beginners)
First impressions:
The device is small and even comes with a little magnetic holder you can stick to a wall for storage. The included cable is USB A to USB C. I would have liked a USB-C adaptor for those laptops that do not have a USB A port. There are a bunch of stickers in the box which my kids liked. The device is light and feels sturdy with thick plastic that is matte textured. My only gripe off the bat was the security sticker. It is there for a purpose and useful for peace of mind, but it leaves A LOT of adhesive on the device you will have to rub off for a while or use an adhesive remover.
Set up:
The initial process is very easy. I decided to set up a new wallet instead of restoring one from an older device since crypto fees were low for transactions at the time to ensure a clean setup and maximum compatibility. The backup is 12 words that will be presented at setup. Like most wallets, DO NOT LOSE this backup code as you will potentially lose access to your funds forever if you forget your PIN. The Trezor software suite makes things very easy to set up with a wizard that guides you through each step. The initial selection of coins felt rather weak as the website advertises support for 8000+ coins. There were some I could not find native support in the device for but most of the major ones are present. If you want to set up support for more obscure coins you will need to do some research and might potentially need other software to make it happen. You will be able to set up a standard wallet and add hidden wallets as needed.
The main set of supported coins you will see in setup are Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Dash, DigiByte, Dogecoin, Namecoin, Vertcoin, Zcash, Cardano and Solana. There is also support for testnet coins. Other minor coins likely need a wallet app that supports those coins with Trezor compatibility.
Daily use:
Transactions are straight forward. Start to send or receive, display your address, copy it to wherever it is going and send. Every step requires you to acknowledge on the Trezor device to ensure you are not sending money by accident. The whole process felt very secure.
I found my way on the web software suite which is highly convenient as it means you will not have to install the program on each PC you use. I only keep the software on one computer and use the web interface on others for convenience.
I like the addition of the touch screen as it makes things very easy, but the screen is very recessed from the frame which makes touching PIN or text entries with your fingertip hard toward the edges. The recessed frame is good for durability as you will be unlikely to break the screen even if dropped and stepped on, but it does create usability issues as you cannot tap with your nail. Also, most text entry is done via a T9 style keyboard which works well except for the issue I mentioned with edges.
For power users, there is an option to install custom firmware, but it is advised against for most users.
Security:
I was very impressed by all the options. At the most basic level, you will have your backup code and a PIN to keep things safe. If you want to get more advanced, you can add a Micro SD card which will have an encrypted key the device will not operate without. You can also utilize Tor for anonymity. I also stumbled upon a “discreet mode” which will hide your account balances and sensitive information while using the software or web interface.
Last, I want to mention I love the ability to set custom wallpaper!

Tiny and fast hard drive
on November 23, 2023
Posted by: psyclopps
This is a very impressive hard drive for Apple devices. I conducted my review using a M1 Mac Mini and an iPad Pro M1. By default, it is formatted to APFS so if you have any desire to use it on a PC you will need to format it to NTFS or FAT32. I fully intend to use this hard drive for my on-the-go photography drive.

Pros:
- Tiny!
- Fast
- Lightweight
- Durable
- Storage space
- Great warranty (5 years)
Cons:
- USB-C cable is short

First impression:
So long as you are using an Apple device with USB-C, there is no set up and the device will work out of the box. The first thing that will surprise you is the size of this hard drive! It is tiny! I attached photos to compare it with other objects. Although SSD external drives are already small, prepare to be amazed. Being small, it is also extremely light, and you will easily be able to store it in any pocket in your bag, just be sure not to lose it. Of note there is a hook on the corner to place a lanyard or a ring on it, though anything metal might scratch up the drive. I received the light gold variant, and I thought it would not be to my liking, but in person it is a more silverish color.

Performance:
I had no issues transferring files from my M1 iPad Pro to this hard drive and it was immediately detected. Similarly, there were no issues on my M2 Mac. Performance was a bit slower than the advertised 1050 MB/s and I achieved 939 MB/s read and 905 MB/s write when benchmarked. My device came with a review guide which explained that USB controllers in Mac devices result in some lower performance with Apple silicon. I expect you might achieve higher speeds if you format it to NTFS and use it on PC. The device performs at USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds (not 2x2).

Software:
There is not much included in the device but there are a few useful trials. Adobe Creative Cloud comes with a 1-month All-Apps plan which is very useful. Oddly, there is a link to “Storage Executive” software to manage the hard drive, but it appears to lead to a Windows only link. Additionally, there is a 1-month trial for Mylio Photos.

Game was not tested properly
By skullboy88 from Los Angeles, CA
First of all the reason for such a low rating is that the game is not playable. Right out the box. Now, I have been building pc's for over 10 years and have sunk hundreds of dollars into my rig to play the most demanding games. And I do. The problem is that ID software sent out a game to the public that is not finished. Google, rage graphics problems and you will find a magnitude of arcticles about poor graphics bad drivers and other issues. AMD and Nvidia have been working for a driver patch but reports from many say they do not work to fix the tearing and poor rendering . People are paying $60.00 for a pc game. Dont you think it should work right away without having to wait for a patch?

Horrid Sound
By DELienz from Delaware
I had pair of Sony Headphones that I bought a few years ago for approx. $50 dollars... Sounded Amazing, but I recently ran then over with my car... Anyway bought these assuming the sound would be similar and also compensate for my only complaint with my other heardphones which was falling constantly out of my ear during workouts. Turns out these are more expensive but that sound terrible. Tried changing the setting on my IPOD and there is no overcoming the lack of bass. I am a auidiophile and I do listen to music a lot of double bass and drums so bass is something I must have in a headphone. If that's what you looking for don't buy these. I'm confident cheaper headphones with the same quality sound can be obtained so I would not recommend these to anyone...

Balanced Armature
June 28, 2012
Balanced Armature headphones are designed to sound like the original recording. Most headphones these days are "dynamic armature" which are designed kind of like a hardware equilizer where bass is usually most important. Any of these balanced armature headphones are aimed specifically at audiophiles as they repoduce very true to original sound with detailed mid ranges and highs.

Why is this computer so cheap with all these features?

Good question. The only areas I can see where they skimped out a bit are a bit in the trackpad and battery life. Everything else seems as advertised and it performs very well to match the specs. There is little to no bloatware installed. Lenovo is making some great stuff these days!

Can it read audible audiobook from amazon ?

Unless you have an app that can "cast" audio then the answer is no. Amazon is much more integrated with it's own Echo. I own both and Echo is much better for this task than the Google Home. From what I can tell, Audible apps do no throw audio to other Chromecast devices such as Google Home.

Bring the power of Google directly to your fingertips with the Google Pixel. A large 32GB of storage keep data secure, while unlimited cloud storage transfers data as needed, and it's completely automatic. If I have T-Mobile, will this phone work with it, or is it just for Verizon?

I have tried my Verizon Pixel with my T-Mobile SIM card and it works perfect. The device is actually unlocked if you buy it outright. I had full LTE connectivity in the Seattle area on T-Mobiles network.

Is this version of Google pixel phone a unlock version and will it work in a country like Malaysia ?

I am not sure if it will work in Malaysia but I have used this Verizon Pixel with my T-Mobile SIM card. It is unlocked but ensure you have paid off the device to ensure it is not stuck to Verizon through a contract.

It does let you know if you are paired via bluetooth. As you are using bluetooth, you get the usual limitation of 30 feet or so from your phone.
