Very happy with this turntable!

Very happy with the quality of this turntable. It is easy to set up and plays all my LP's beautifully. I also installed the Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio software on my laptop to record my albums using USB connection. The software is very user friendly with a wizard that walks you through creating the sound files. It works perfectly! I have recorded whole LP's and 45's as wav files then converted to mp3 format. To hear the vinyl sound on my car stereo is awesome! I love it.
You can see in the picture the record fits completely on the turntable - it doesn't hang over the edge like other turntables. The lid is attached and open in the pic.
What's great about it: Affordable, easy to set up, easy to use, good sound. The record fits on the platter and clear cover fits perfect.
What's not so great: 33's and 45's only, not 78's. I don't have 78's and not looking for that format, so doesn't matter to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

does it take the static noise out of lp

It does a beautiful job playing LP's but if your album has scratches and smudges you will hear it. It really helps if you clean your LP's with an electronic alcohol wipe, just once at least, to remove dust, hairs and smudges. You can use the Sony Sound Forge Studio software to remove the noise. It has editing and effects tools just for that purpose, as well as other things such as reverb, etc.

can you hook it to a stereo system also

can you hook it to a stereo system also
It has one cable with standard RCA Red/White jacks which you can connect to your receiver or stereo. If your stereo doesn't accept the Red/White jacks but has an AUX port (auxiliary) you can buy a short adapter cable that converts the two jack ends Red/White to one and then plug that into the AUX port.

Does this product have a connection for headphones?

No, no headphone jack. It comes with a cable that has the RCA Red/White Jacks which you plug into your receiver or stereo. If you don't have a receiver or stereo that accepts RCA jacks, but have a stereo player with an AUX jack you can buy an adapter that converts the Red/White to one plug, and then plug it into the AUX jack.

Can you use this turntable with your computer to make CDs?

Is it possible to use this turntable with my computer to save LPs to RealPlayer, for example, and then burn CDs? I do not use an MP3 player.
Yes. You connect the USB cable, included, from the back of the turntable to your computer and install the Sony Sound Forge Studio software. The program has a wizard that walks you through recording LPs. Basically you open the wizard and it waits for you to click the "record" button on the screen. You start playing your album and after the needle drops click record. You can see it creating the wav file. When your song or LP is done playing you click "stop". The wizard will then ask you to enter the Artist name, Album Title, and Song Title(s). If you did record one whole side it will recognize the separate tracks and create separate wav files for each track. After the process completes you can use the wav files or click File, Save As and change the format to whatever else format you want (there are many options). You can burn it to a CD or listen using RealPlayer or MediaPlayer.

It is very easy! I love it!

What are the requierment needed by the computer to be compatible?

what windows operating system is needed
I installed the software on Vista Ultimate. The instructions are easy and drivers are included on the CD. The turntable comes with a standard USB cable which connects from the back of the turntable to your computer or laptop. It is Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio LE. Here is the support website for technical support:

does software have track recognition?

Not 100% sure of your question but assuming you want to know if you record the whole side of an album does it recognize the songs and separate them? If this is what you are asking the answer is Yes. It recognizes the spaces between songs and when finished recording one side of your album the software will ask you to input the Recording Artist, Album Title, and Song Titles for each track. When it completes processing it creates a separate wav file for each song. You can then burn them onto a CD or save as an mp3 format (or several other formats). It also has editing and effects tools.

Hope this answers your question!
