With a 2TB capacity and a Gigabit Ethernet interface, this WD My Cloud external network-attached storage device lets you easily save files via your existing Dropbox or other Cloud account and access them from devices connected to your home network.
Works perfectly for TimeMachine backups. I have backed up multiple macs with this, as well as restored a few of them. I use it to store my extra media files due to the Macbook Air's tiny 128GB hard disk.
I only see slowdowns when preforming backups and transferring files over wifi. Either way, it is still faster than USB 2.0.
My friend has connected to it on the other side of the world with no issues except his local internet speed. This is a pretty cool drive, especially with how easy it was to use. The user permissions are pretty straight forward and secure, he was not able to view anything except what I defined as 'public'.
My only concern, is that anyone who connects (Guesses or cracks) to my WiFi has the ability to connect to this drive and view my files. This can be solved by a stronger wifi password.

What's great about it: Shows up on OSX desktop, iOS application.
What's not so great: Slows down when trying to do too much stuff.
