After reading many reviews about many 4K tvs seeing videos I came across this one from tcl. Never heard much about them. Anyway after buying the tv playing games watching tv and testing Netflix house of cards in 4K it definitely shines. Speaker sound is good enough on the tv. For my use I have a reciever with bowers and Wilkins speakers so I'm great with that. Tv pairs well with the stereo. The menus are easy to use. Easier than other brands. A great touch is being able to not only name the hdmi ports according to function but being able to go in and adjust each hdmi input from auto to hdmi 1.4 or hdmi 2.0. That in itself provides adaptiive use. I can say this take the time to color calibrate and you will be rewarded with a terrific picture that can definitely be compatible and be in a dead even race for high picture quality. Is it the best set and absolute picture no but it can hang in there with mid to upper mid tier for a quarter of the price. People comparing it to oled. Of course black levels will be better on an oled. Pixels provide their own light and also shut off to provide perfect black levels for oled. Keep in mind oled has been known to suffer image retention and in harsh cases burn in do your research use YouTube investigate for yourself.

The contents is great of this set. The statue which is one of the main reasons to pick this up is highly detailed. It's not made of ceramic glass or clay. More of a rubber plastic. It feel solid and I feel it was done for 3 reasons. 1) cost per game. They need to make money understandable. 2) Shipping damages. Glass and ceramic can be broken by shipping. This is built to stand up to shipping well. Plus it's not as heavy again shipping costs.3) gaming community. We consist of adults teens and children. I think that being said this is a good choice of material for everyone. If you are a avid statue collector then other materials may be your thing. Don't look at the art book till you beat the game. There are spoilers. You've been warned. The costume packs and points are cool too. Stickers are nice. The game is one of those games you will remember for life. A great top off to a fantastic and an amazing adventure.

My old Sony lcd broke due to an accident and I wanted an upgrade anyway. I had ordered something from Walmart and it was lets just say DOA so i am still in process of returning that. In the meantime i looked at bestbuy and saw this tv on sale. Liked the specs so i ordered it for pickup. Now tha i have set it up and used it toda I do really enjoy quite a lot its setup, picture, sound, and avanced options if you dig in deep to configure. Its also very light which makes moving it all the easier. I apperciate the energy star rating as its a plus. I'd definitly recomend picking it up if your looking for a new set or another one for second tv. Especially for the price. Hope this helped id highly reccomend.

A really great sound!

Many people on many forums bash Bose sound, you'll hear many things such as no highs, no lows it must be bose. Or another one buy other sound equipment. Another thing about some of the reviews you read our based on when the system was $800 now that is extremely high for 2.1 I agree with that I'm basing my review on its current price $599 on sale for $539. I feel both of these prices are very reasonable for 2.1 and a five year warranty. I've never had a problem with bows or most customer service as a matter of fact they're very knowledgebase not airheads. Give them that and they are interested in any of your problems or concerns for the most part in my experience. Being said understand sound is as much subjective as it is scientific we all may be able to hear the same or similar frequencies of sound but it's how we experience them to make the difference especially on an individual basis. Some people have the preconceived notion of thinking a 2.1 surround sound will perfectly mimic a five channel or more sound system in this case it can come close to a 5 channel permitting the right conditions but you will notice the backend of the room not having those speakers. In my situation of 5.1 sound system for bedroom would be overkill. I was looking to upgrade in the future my home theater for the front room with B&W speakers and yes given the right sound equipment they can sound fabulous too. In the future I may pick them up when needed. Meeting when I have a bigger room to run a system do it the right way with enough space for all the speakers the wiring etc. in my case right now the Bose cinematic GS two meets all my needs has a very clear sound. The bass comes out very clear with no distortion I'm very high levels. Again what I'm saying subjective but here are some of the arguments I hear in regards to the acoustimass module. There have been complaints about holes in the frequency range. I don't really see a problem with any issues of lack of high frequency medium or low frequency for that matter. A lot of people mistake something bass with a lot of distortion on the low-end is good base versus tight clear bass. I don't bash anybody for thinking that again it's subjective but in my case this system provides a really clear crisp tight sound especially for jazz orchestra rock 'n roll I'm pretty much any genre I've thrown at it. It's extremely good for videogames be a PlayStation 3 PlayStation 4 and movies especially. I can say this I sample a lot of what people say is audiophfile reference speakers and systems. The B&W sound very good. I've heard many other unknown reference speakers and I have to say in my opinion the Bose do a really good job in general. Every speaker has their own sound signature there is no right or no wrong so all the reviews that just say you should hate something just because well if you listen to them I don't know why you reading any reviews because you're close minded. Invest in what you enjoy whatever system you like to listen to people listen to your ears. If I had to name a second choice of speakers they would be B&W. Again this is just personal preference ultimately close out on this review the Bose cinemate gs 2 in my opinion is a great system. Just consider this Bose first payment plans if you can't afford to do it and it's not a credit card thing
Go online and do payments
That's how I picked up mine never had a problem.
PS
I have done side-by-side comparisons with my Sony speakers I have on my 5.1 system that I haven't been using lately with the speakers on the Bose cinemate and I have to say the speakers on the Bose pick up and sound much clearer with the music and sounds as I tested them on multiple sources on multiple songs. It really is a quality sound system is my point and it was really to my surprise even more so after I had done a side-by-side comparison the Bose sounded so much better to me at least. Again sound subjective.
Some of the people that claim to be audiophiles get so caught up in the exact measurement of sound they forget to truly enjoy the sound. Now here's the point I made to everybody in this if any of you have ever been to a concert and say you hear somebody play the trumpet for the saxophone and you don't hear it on the microphone speaker set up for just natively being played from somebody every situation but that instrument is played is different. If it's an open space like a park if it's inside of an opera house the sound comes differently with each environment have a player plays the notes etc. the point I make about saying all this is the environment affects the sound greatly and measuring frequency range only translates so far when it comes to a speaker reproducing sound. I have heard many systems in my time some of been really good many of been really bad my opinion of course but there truly is no speaker second hundred percent we produce exactly what a saxophone sounds like. There's no substitute for vocalists singing at a concert. They have a job of any speaker or sound system is basically to reproduce sounds but it's made by the other instruments or voices and it's pretty incredible that we have technology that can do that pretty well. The point is understand every speaker has a different sonic signature they all sound different and everybody will have an open opinion on what sounds better or not. In my experience these two companies a very good for my needs. I would wholeheartedly recommend either/or. Just understand read what the system cannot do it does not do DTS. That's a problem for you don't by it. If you wanting of 5.1 or more channel home theater don't bash the item because it only has 2.1. I would say just go listen to multiple systems for multiple companies I would say Best Buy being the best venue to do this make your own judgment. My final thoughts on the system excellent sound very clear very crisp very accurate. Does not distort on high volumes. You can hear dialogue or speech clearly on low volumes. Do I think it's worth its current price absolutely I do. My final thoughts is this just know what you investing into the research not only with your eyes but with your ears well especially with your ears. I hope this helps. Take care.
What's great about it: Ease-of-use and great clear crisp quality sound
What's not so great: Nothing to complain about

A great sound experience

Really a magical experience for music, movies, and games. The sound gives you a spacious soundstage with great separation of instruments and sounds. The bass is rich deep and to me not muddy in the least bit. These aren't beats style bass meaning not muddy over exaggerated geared toward mainly the rap/hip hop genres. These are geared toward everything else. Their build quality is stunningly durable. Comes with 2 wires. One with mic for ios devices. Not sure if the controls for volume and music works for android. Being able to replace the wire if need be and ear pads are too. Ear pads are very comfortable. Clamping pressure on the head is snug not uncomfortable in any way. Of course this will vary so try them if you can. Great grade of sheep skin leather with a great smell to them. The case soft leather. It is unique but not the most protective but good enough. They do not fold flat but to the side for storage keep that in mind. If you want a headphone that will last you many years if not for life consider these. They may be expensive but think of it like this you can get many standard headphones with moderate success at a decent experience but lack durability to take any form of traveling or you can buy one phenomenal pair of headphones audiophile grade and love them for many years to come.

It's important to note anyone that buys them must try all the tips. It really makes a big difference on how the sound is experienced. Especially bass. If you want accurate bass not exaggerated you'll have to try the tips for best fit and sound. Now onto what matters sound. Well suffice it to say it's really an experience to behold. Has a great sound stage being able to hear the placement of all the instruments is really awsome. So far been really durable. This will vary from person to person with any earbud. Treat them good and with care and they'll last treat them like ones you'd pick up at a dollar store and well they'll treat you the same. Anyway highly recommended!!! Definitely a cut above the rest.

I own boththe QC 15's as well the QC 20i I and I have to say these of the best sound quality of all three. Get them while on sale there absolutely excellent! The comfort is way better than the QC 15 in the midst of much warmer and pleasant to your ears and there's no pressure that I experience with noise cancellation. You won't regret the purchase.

What Bose system did you have?
October 30, 2015
You said you compared it to a Bose system which model did you have? Also keep in mind these are extraordinarily expensive speakers I've listen to them myself and then my opinion that cost ratio for what you get back compared to a Bose is diminished returns unless if you have a very large room And also matters if you have the space to properly set them up as well that's a minimum requirement let alone the room tree van and the audio gear to drive them properly. Myself I heard these and as they did some good they were assisted by subwoofer where I sampled them. I do not think they're worth the $1600 asking price tha I do not think they're worth the $1600 asking price. I would give them about a four star rating out of five from what I've heard they are very good but not worth the money in my opinion.

AMAZING TV FOR THE $$$
By Phillip
I upgraded my bedroom tv a Sony 50" W800B with this TCL and wow i can't believe how great some movies and games now look. The Sony was no slouch either but i see details and more colors in some games and movies that weren't there before and this isn't even watching or playing 4K or HDR content, for instance some games like COD Infinite Warfare witch isn't HDR or 4K looks so different due to this TV being able to display more colors and being a FALD lit display. Review sites have been praising this TV and for good reason, the quality picture and technology you receive in this product for $599 is AMAZING!! You get 80% of the picture quality and features of those high end QLED/OLED displays at a fraction of the cost. Don't hesitate on buying this TV. This television will amaze you and turn you into a TCL fan witch sounds kind of weird but from what i've read is that TCL is an electronics powerhouse in ASIA and they are the third largest TV manufacturer in the world, and are now for the last few years trying to make a name for themselves here in the US.

It's a great tv have used it configured the settings and have a great picture. Great value. Most negative reviews for this mainly are because they dint know how to configure the hdmi ports or haven't configured the white balance in the app and other settings on the tv. Believe me it makes a world of difference. Picture mode: Normal
Local contrast: Off I turn that on high
Backlight: 60
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 100
Sharpness: 55
Color: 45
Tint: 0
Color Temperature: Warm
Game mode: Off
The white balance is a big deal but these settings are great for me

Surround Sound setting

I have a Cinemate GS II hooked up to a Sharp Aquos tv. The Sharp Aquos tv has a setting to turn on surround sound. Should this be turned off?
You have to turn off your tv speakers for one thing. In the settings you should try to give it the best possible unedited sound souce possible meanin if tv decodes it as dolby and then it goes to your bose system and that has a dolby decoder in it there is a chance you may not et the best sound as its going through 2 decoders when it should only be decoded by your home theater or bose system deocder.
