NOT for Windows 8 out of the box

I use it in...:Small office
This product does NOT support Windows 8 "out of the box". If you check with Netgear and read closely, they indicate the system will work for Windows 7 systems which have been upgraded to Windows 8. As of February 1st, 2013, Netgear does NOT have a release date for native Windows 8 drivers.
What's great about it: The concept
What's not so great: The execution

All the bass you need or want....

Other reviews indicate this unit is capable of removing pictures from the wall. This is an accurate statement.. We run ours between 1/2 and 3/4 volume (located conveniently on the side) and have PLENTY of bass.
We have hardwood floors, and have not experienced the "vibration" issue mentioned in other reviews.
This subwoofer is sold as part of the Definitve Technology ProCinema 800 series, which includes 4 of the 800 series bookshelf speakers, this sub and the 100 series center. Best Buy matched internet pricing, and I saved some $'s and have an EXCELLENT sound system!
Go to BB, and let your ears be the judge!

Center speaker is critical!!!

This was part of a new system that replaced a HTIB unit. There is a HUGE difference in listening quality - movie dialogue, watching TV - these are "center" functions, and this unit handles it beautifully.
Do yourself a favor and give these a listen in the "Magnolia" home theater area of your BB store. Definitive Technology bundles this center with their 800 series speakers as a ProCinema 800. Best Buy matched online prices on the bundlee, saving me some $'s.
What's great about it: Great sound reproduction and clarity.

Excellent multipurpose unit

Speakers tend to be a "matter of taste". Therefore, my first recommendation would be to listen to these in the Magnolia theatre section of the store.
I found these to be excellent for TV, music, and movies. These speakers accurately reproduce the sound without "coloring" it - not too much bass, not too much "hiss", but just excellent, accurate sound reproduction. (Don't get me wrong - these units produce rich deep and crisp sounds - it's just they seem "natural" instead of "processed".
If you're serious about sound, and are considering the 600's, you should give these a listen - they are well worth the extra $.
What's great about it: Excellent sound reproduction for movie, music, and TV
I would recommend this to a friend!
