Good Cam missing one feature
on October 25, 2020
Posted by: Techuser
from Los Angeles CA
This dash cam is about a 4 out of 5. Its missing features that I would say is needed for 5 stars
Installation is the same for all dash cam. It took me about 30 to 40 mins to run the wires in my van (head board and top lining). This setup didn’t come with a tool to my separate the panels. But im glad I save the plastic tools from my other dash cam.
Comes with a 16GB memory card. Its enough to start out but I am going to upgrade to 128GB.
Video and images are pretty clear during the day but grainy at night (see example).
My other car’s dash cam has a feature were the dash cam can record if the car was parked and was hit or shaken. It would record front and back. It’s a very valuable feature if you parked your car outside.
If your just looking for a front and back dash cam this would be a good choice. It does the job.

Average Stylus
on October 12, 2020
Posted by: Techuser
from Los Angeles CA
The Zagg Pro Stylus is an average stylus. It’s got good weight and feels comfortable to “write” with on my Ipad Pro. I could not tell the difference using different tips.
About 7 out 10 times it worked to reject my palm when writing. I’m not sure if it’s my palm hitting the Ipad first or it’s just not working.
One thing that gave me a headache was understanding if the stylus was turned on. (It wont write on the Ipad if the stylus wasn’t turned on). Zagg should have the stylus LED turn green for on and red for off. But the lights just turn on and off not very clear.
Hard to recommend this stylus to others with these issues.

Solid 4k UHD monitor
on September 23, 2020
Posted by: Techuser
from Los Angeles CA
This is an awesome 4k monitor. Sharp and bright screen. You can’t go wrong with this monitor. I have this monitor on my kitchen counter top while working from work. The white/gray is a perfect match to my counter tops and cabinets
The height, tilt, and swivel adjustment are features you don’t think you need but actually you will. My wife and kids are using the monitor and they need to adjust it.
There are built in speakers which is a great plus.. Not the greatest speaker but good enough to use.
Make sure your laptop or desktop can support 4k @ 60hz. If not, there will be a lot of lag when moving your mouse on the screen. (4k@30hz is really bad).
If you're looking for a 4k monitor I would recommend this.

Not a phone, tablet or laptop its different
on September 18, 2020
Posted by: Techuser
from Los Angeles CA
This is something different. If you’re looking for a phone, tablet or computer you will be disappointed. Its not the best of any of these devices. Its an average phone, average tablet and small laptop. Its hard review this as a “single” use device. But the Surface Duo takes all 3 device and makes it into something special. (think toaster oven that can bake, toast, broil etc doesn’t do one thing great but does everything else well)
First off the design its awesome. You have to go to a store to appreciate the build quality. It’s a silky smooth glass back and front. The hinge is velvety smooth but firm when opening and closing. It can stop and hold at any angle. I think this is why it cost so much. Buttons and finger print reader are intuitively placed.
As a smart phone, it’s average at best. Right out of the box I had issue with the screen flickering. (I had to open and close it to fix it). The upgrade didn’t help, but hopefully there are more to come. Also, there was noticeable lag when switching between tasks. I turned off the gesture and that helped out a lot. Holding it as a phone takes a little getting used to. Audio quality was ok. I find myself holding the Surface Duo as book and setting the speaker phone function when talking.
As a tablet, it was “OK”. The line down the middle takes a little getting use too. The BIGGEST issues is the lack of stereo sound. Audio only comes out from the left side of the phone. It doesn’t seem right. I’ve been holding the Surface Duo in different position and angles and it keeps “fold” (this was impressive) . So far battery life is about a day on heavy usage.
As a computer, its not working for me. Some quick emails or viewing of excel documents it works. Don’t think this will replace your laptop anytime soon.
The biggest win is the split screen. When working correctly (95% of the time) I can run different apps on both screen. My daughter (6 years old) can play a small game on one side and I can browser or work on the other.
There are a few things that Surface Duo is lacking that keeps me from recommending it to friends.
- For over $1000, the camera is below average. If I ever take another vacation with the family I’d switch out the Surface Duo for my other phone with a better camera
- Single speaker really kills it when trying to watch things. When running 2 different apps at the same time the sounds from the apps come out at different times.
- Software still needs work. A lot of big and small glitches.
DISCLAIMER: I received the Surface Duo (free or reduce cost) through the Tech Insider Network or “TIN”. Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews.

Mixed feelings. Great Product
on September 14, 2020
Posted by: Techuser
from Los Angeles CA
Prior to COVID 19 I worked out 5 to 6 days a week about 1 to 1.5 hours (Cardio and weight lifting on different days) When the lockdowns hit I “rested” for 2 months and now just starting back up again with cardio and resistance band leg workouts. The DOMS ( delay onsite muscle soreness) were real. I’ve been doing 30 mile bike rides on Saturday morning and by Sunday my leg were stiff and sore all over.
After using the AYRE Compression Boot twice on Saturday ( after workout and before bed time for 30 mins) I feel less sore and can tell the AYRE compression boot made a difference. I would say I was about 50% less sore. ( I also stretched for 15 to 20 mins)
My wife is 4 months pregnant and her legs started to swell due to standing while teaching virtual class. She tired the AYRE Compression Boot for 45 mins before she slept and the next morning we could definitely tell the difference (about 70% of the swelling was gone). After using the AYRE for 3 nights in a row she was back to normal.
The AYRE Rapid Recovery compression Boots work for me and my wife in recovery. There are a few things I didn’t like:
1. For me, the size of the compression boot was a little big, but for my wife they were way too big. Maybe next generation they can make it so its adjustable.
2. Instructions was limited. I thought there would be different programs for the compression like a massage chair. Pulsing, rolling, longer holds etc. But its just 1 standard cycle. The 4 chambers fill up air sequentially then release at the same time. There is no variation.
3. Wireless function is nice to have but a very limited use case. Maybe when my kids get older and we are driving back from a game they could use it in the car ? Really don’t need it if your using it around the house. When you’re using the compression boot you’re sitting in one place anyways you can’t move.
I would recommend the AYRE wireless compression boots to those who value recovering from soreness quickly or have swelling in their legs like my wife. For $600 dollars its not cheap, but its an investment in your body.

Do I need another small appliances ?
on August 31, 2020
Posted by: Techuser
from Los Angeles CA
This is definitely a must buy for someone who doesn’t have a toaster or oven or air fryer. Maybe a college student or someone moving into an apartment or a couple who is getting married they should have this on their wedding registry.
For the past few days I have toasted, baked and air fried multiple things. Each time it came out perfect. There is a “cookie” function which we tried. It came out soft a chewy in the middle with a crispy crust on the outside. Frozen pizza cooked evenly with no issue. But I have to say the best function is the air fryer. Sweet potato fries came out perfect. It’s a must try.
I guess the question is do I need another small appliances. I would say yes. This would make a perfect birthday or Christmas gift. Plus a lot of us are staying home right now. Why not take up cooking ?

BOSE vs SONY ANC
on August 19, 2020
Posted by: Techuser
from Los Angeles CA
Bose and Sony are at war with high-end active noise cancelling headphones. I own the Bose NC700 and these are great headphones. Superior audio quality and extremely comfortable to wear.
Then along came the Sony WH-1000XM4 and now I have a favorite headset. On paper Sony beats out the Bose headphones. Better battery life, additional features (removing Sony’s headset will pause the music or video), software (Sony’s work well) and price.
Overall audio quality is fantastic. I can’t tell the difference between Bose and Sony. And headphones are exceptionally comfortable as well.
You cannot go wrong with either headphones but I would highly recommend the Sony’s WH-1000XM4

Impressed with laptop build and performance
on July 19, 2020

I have to say I’m impressed with the overall build quality of this laptop. I like the gray/brownish color looks really sleek. Its something you have to see in the stores to appreciate it.
Overall performance is solid. I am able to open multiple programs and videos without any issues. Its what you should expect from a new laptop. Great laptop for a student and working professional.
One drawback, it does get hot on the bottom after a few minute of normal usage. I can get uncomfortable if your using it on your lap.

Great for Active goers, sits well

I wore these during for my workout with no issues (running, jumping, burpees etc) . The case uses a rubberize material which feels good.
Pairing was simple. You have to turn on both sides of ear piece
Some issues
This might be a problem for some but these only come in 1 size. There are not ear adjustments or plugs to change the ear size. After wearing these for about 2 hour my ears start hurting.
Overall still a great headphone but not perfect.

Might be a defective adapter or under powered adapter. i would change it out and not risk it

Sounds like a driver issue or software program. Try a factory reset and see if that helps
