Satisfy bandwidth-hungry gaming and streaming demands with this Linksys Max-Stream Wi-Fi router. Its next-generation multiuser MIMO technology works four times faster than conventional routers, letting multiple users enjoy low-latency VR gaming and glitch-free 4K simulcasting. This tri-band Linksys Max-Stream Wi-Fi router provides wired network sharing with its four Gigabit Ethernet ports and a USB 3.0 connector.
I received this unit from Linksys in exchange for my honest review. I replaced my existing dual band router in about 10 minutes by setting up this unit with the same SSID name and everything in my house was up and humming without a blip. The kids didn't even notice. I immediately noticed the range had increased allowing me to run on the 5GHz channels in the far reaches of my house pulling 30+ Mbps via FIOS. Previously I would run at 2.4GHz in those rooms of the house. It was also very trivial to set up the router to prioritize MAC addresses which I did for my chromecast to keep my kids from hogging the bandwidth :-) The Linksys app is very useful for setting the guest account passwords for visitors as well as doing the more sophisticated controls. Finally, the unit is even a little smaller than my previous router.

Buried in an office corner, it still delivers on range,
Surf the web faster with this Linksys Mu-Mimo wireless router. Its next-gen Wi-Fi technology lets you connect multiple devices at speeds of up to 1.7 Gbps, and the included extender providers a stronger signal for uninterrupted video streaming and chat. Enable parental controls with the smart Wi-Fi app of this Linksys Mu-Mimo wireless router.
I just received this the router today. Within 30 minutes I had it connected to my Fios modem router as a second available SSID, encyption was set up with guest access, and I instituted parental controls for some gaming sites that interfere with the kids homework.
I have never set up a router this easy. It also comes with an available smart phone app which I downloaded from the Google Play store. Many settings and parental controls are controllable from your smart phone in any location. You set up an account with linksys and you can then remotely control your router.
As far as performance, my previous router did not have MIMO antennas and I was forced to set up an extender in our living room to get decent access there. With this router there is no such problem. Network speeds close to the router recorded from speedtest.net were at 20 Mbps (limited by FIOS). At the furthest reaches of my house (upstairs and at the furthest distance away of a 5 bedroom home) I recorded ~10Mbps. Previously I would have no access at the far location.
If I had one complaint it would be that its pretty large unit. Quite a bit bigger than my previous router.
