Great entry level receiver

This Onkyo ht-r2295 is an excellent receiver for the $199.00 I paid for it on sale. It has good power at roughly 80 to 90 watts per channel at 6ohms into 5.1 all channels driven. Surround modes have excellent clarity, excellent separation between each speaker, and fill my living room with excellent spacious sound. For the tech savvy this receiver has an excellent quality transformer, decent power supply, and nice size capacitors for extra dynamics in loud explosion and loud music. At 60% volume this receiver can over power my 16x16ft room. The remote control is a little small and having to hit the receiver button before making other changes on the receiver can get annoying. The on screen display is quite good actually and has enough features to adjust to get good quality sound no matter what speakers you have hooked to it. The 2EQ room correction feature is nice and does a good job for finding crossover frequencies for each speaker and distance although it is the most basic for equalizing your speakers and sub. The front display on the receiver is difficult to see as during the day or night it seems to me to be too dimly lit. This receiver also runs pretty cool even under load as I have pushed it loudly for an hour or so and it was just warm to the touch. Kudos to Onkyo for having a large heat sink that does a good job dissipating heat. For speakers I run PSB T6's for front mains rated at 6ohms but will drop to 3.4 ohm throughout the frequency ranges, a C22 Andrew Jones Pioneer (6ohm# center channel, Pioneer MK8 subwoofer and Fluance XLBP bi-pole surround speakers #8ohm) for my side speakers. This receiver has handled these speakers well so far without even a hint of strain or notice of distortion at well above reference listening levels. Well before I babble on any further, my recommendation is to buy this Onkyo receiver as it has over achieved my expectations in this price range. The Onkyo ht-r2295 is a quality built receiver for people on a budget who want excellent quality sound without all the extra bells and whistles that can cost you a fortune.

What's great about it: excellent price on sale, excellent sound quality, good power output
What's not so great: no preamp outputs for main room speakers, cannot bi-amp main speaker,no 4k pass through, no internet connection
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the best center channel in its price class

Andrew Jones has created a master piece with this center channel at this price point. The 4 inch drivers are amazingly smooth, create adequate bass for their size, and represent sound neutrally with very little coloration of sound. The crossover in this speakers is amazing at this price range, the build quality is extremely well done, and the imaging of sound from this speaker is amazing for its price. This speaker takes about 30 or so hours to break in but after it does its a one of a kind in this price range for its accuracy, vocal representation, and overall neutral sound quality. I've owned Klipsch, Atlantic, and Polk Center speakers that didn't even come close to the overall all sound quality of this Andrew Jones designed center channel. A note to buyers of this Pioneer center channel is to get the best out of this speaker you need to feed it power. This is a 6ohm speaker and at minimum it needs a 100 watts of power to bring out it full potential. I have this center channel paired with Martin Logan Motion 10's that were $1000.00 for the pair and its sound quality is equal if not slightly better that Martin's believe it or not. Amazing build quality and sound puts this speaker at a level that you would need to spend 5 to 10 times its asking price to get better quality. For $69.99 its got to be the best price to performance ratio center channel on the market today. Its so good I'm going to buy the Andrew Jones designed Pioneer FS52 tower speakers that are now only $87.49 a piece to sonically match this center channel. Read all the reviews on the internet as they compare these speakers with names like Aperion, Focal, B&W, Paradigm, etc. and they all agreed that this Pioneer is so close in audiophile quality to these companies entry level speakers that there is no justification to spend the extra money to buy them. Again they reference these companies entry level speaker which are anywhere from $300 - $750 dollars. The Andrew Jones design Pioneers were so close in quality to them that they just couldn't justify spending the extra money to buy the BIG NAME BRAND entry level Speakers. Buy these speakers while they are still available and laugh your way all the way to the back as others spend their hard earned money for the same quality but 5 to 10 times the price. Andrew Jones and Pioneer have shown the market place that you don't have to spend a fortune to get excellent performing speakers....
What's great about it: Excellent vocal representation, neutral sound with no coloration
What's not so great: slight sylabism of "S" in voices at loud volumes

Excellent speaker for price to performance ratio

These Martin Logan 10's are the best speakers I've heard in this price range. They image beautifully throughout my living room, have excellent accuracy throughout their frequency range, the mid bass is accurate and tight, and for the two 5.25 inch drivers that put out excellent bass for only reaching down to 65Hz.For a 4ohm speaker they are very efficient at 90db and are compatible with any receiver up to 8ohms.CD's,DVD,and Blu Ray in master audio sound phenominal. The thing I like the most with these Martin Logan 10's is that they are so transparent sounding that if you close your eyes you are submerge is a room full of audio that you can't even tell where the sound is coming from.To get that type of transparency from a speaker in this price range is unheard of...Absolutely satisfied to the point I will be purchasing the motion 12's and moving these to the rear channel even though they are incredible as front mains where I have them now.Buy them you will not be disappointed in anyway...
What's great about it: Excellent imaging, accuracy, and transparency
What's not so great: They weren't free!!! Thats about it...
