Best WiFi Camera for Distance from Base

The base unit and cameras were very easy to install and view using the cell phone app. I did connect the base unit via ethernet to my LAN. I also connected the base unit via an HDMI cable to one of the ports on a TV, there were no problems displaying on the TV set. I actually called support due to a small mistake I made using the phone app during initial setup. It was totally my fault during the verify phase of registering and creating my sign in. I didn’t see the obvious place to enter the code that is sent to me as a text message. In any event I can attest to the quick response I got when calling the Night Owl support team. The person was knowledgeable and he realized my error. He also gave me some insight into other features. Bottom line, the Night Owl support is excellent. We had a good laugh and I still don’t know how I made the simple error.
You are asked to pair the cameras within 8 feet of the base unit. All four cameras paired without any intervention on my part after they were simply powered on. A helpful voice tells you status and eventually will say the cameras are ready within 15 seconds. I checked a few times that I could turn the cameras off and on and each time they re-paired on their own, no problems. So this is important and the cameras worked great re-connecting.
The video from the cameras is crystal clear. I did notice that when you open the app, the video of all cameras came up instantly although they were about 100 feet from the base unit. I have noticed that the Night Owl is much better at handling longer distance than other brands that I am currently using. The other brands took 15-30 seconds to display the video on my cell phone using their apps which are much more rudimentary. So hands down the Night Owl is better. I also played with the microphone, siren and flood lights - everything worked perfectly.
The newer technologies seem to have improved distance, picture and especially ease of setup (plus the ability to use the cell phone app to control your system settings). Other systems only use a mouse attached to the base unit to operate a rather clumsy interface via your HDMI connection to the TV screen.
I highly recommend this unit as excellent quality, superior GUI and great support from their techs.

Quality and Technology Blended Just right

Super quality. Solid feel and when running, the unit is smooth and powerful at all speeds. Charging was simple and blinking green light becomes solid green when fully charged.
The selection of massage heads covers all your muscles. I tried them all and was able to hit sore areas like shoulders and calf muscles for me. Changing the heads is easy, however you do need to use a little more force than you might initially think to remove a head. But pulling the head straight out will work fine.
After I mowed the lawn I had been getting cramps in my calf muscle and using this massager for 5 minutes on each calf after I mow has eliminated the cramps that usually came later when I went to bed. I just used the low power setting for this remedy. You should note to turn it on you need to hold the power button down for a few seconds. This is a good feature to prevent accidentally powering the unit up. Each touch will then increase the power level. Also you can turn the unit off from any power setting directly by simply holding down the power button. The design of this product was very well thought out by the engineers from cordless ability, physical shape, quality parts, variety of heads and smooth motor. Tip of the cap to the engineers and market analysts.
The skin of the device is very soft and just exactly what you want with a massage device. This is not a low-end price-point device, but it is worth every penny. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent Sound and Soft as Butter

I did first test the 12 hour charge and in fact it exceeded 12 hours, so that’s nice. I also tried the passive ‘power off’ position and the head phones worked fine albeit at a much lower volume. So that does work but inspired me to ensure I keep the head phones charged to get that terrific power sound. The volume controls were positioned very ergonomically and intuitive. I did notice the clever style of the earpad sections to tilt ensured the phones will hug your head without pinching. The material used to make the pads is very smooth, no sweat and soft as butter. I played games for hours with no discomfort and often didn’t even feel the head phones on – so that is great. I also wear glasses and noticed how the glasses didn’t cause discomfort apparently due to the ‘dual foam’ design which I can attest actually works well. The ‘up’ move of the mic boom did mute the microphone as specified. Sound was great, I would not say superb sound, but at this price point I felt the audio was very realistic. I would highly recommend these head phones.

Very Nice Reception, Problems with Rotation

I tried this antenna and the reception was excellent. I didn’t ‘measure’ signals, rather I tried this antenna against a number of over the air channels that I am familiar with to check clarity. Compared to a more expensive antenna this one worked much better. I did do several new scans using a Samsung TV with built in converter. I am somewhat remote as most channels are beaming from a bigger city which is over 50 miles away. If you use this antenna in a more urban area versus suburban area, I believe you will find it is even better.
Now the sketchy part of this unit is the rotation capability. The engineers I see tried to minimize cost and probably went too far. I say this because the rotational response is inconsistent. It will rotate using either the remote or the on-board switch. There is an LED light that turns green to show the antenna is rotating but often the antenna is not moving even though you press the button and the light is green. If you lift off and retry the switch, it will ‘probably’ start the antenna moving again. Also the left button on the remote may turn the antenna clockwise or counter-clockwise, the right button also does this; which is a little frustrating. If you need to move the antenna as you view different stations, then you would require a line of sight to the antenna or you won’t know what it is doing. Possibly my unit is defective relative to the rotation of the antenna feature.
I did see that you must have the base unit turned on to engage the amplification of the signals. Note that you can receive some channels with the unit off or on; but it is an advantage to ensure the unit is on. I messed this up a little since I initially thought the unit needed to be on only to rotate the antenna.
I recommend this unit if you are within 50 miles of your stations. Also you will need a line of sight to the antenna or the rotation ability is of little value. The antenna did impress me as to its ability to receive many stations clearly.

So Light Weight and Sound Great

These earbuds are very light weight which I like. I was able to wear them for 3 hours with no discomfort. I did feel if I jogged with them I needed to use a slightly larger eartip to be sure they stayed put. Several eartip sizes are included so you can find the right ones for sitting in front of a computer for 3 hours or a 30 minute jog. The buds did pair in a flash with TV, laptop and cell phone.
I did try using the Windows ‘Your Phone’ app with these heaphones so that I could see if I could combine usage using the phone, my laptop and the earbuds and everything worked fine. Of course the earbuds worked exactly as designed when using my Android phone alone with the earbuds; the call clarity was perfect. I did notice that the touch sensitivity of the buds was excellent.
The sound using cell phone calls was great, but the sound with music was outstanding. I was very impressed with the bass and treble coming through. Noise cancelling worked nicely and also the charge time was as specified about 6-7 hours. You can get up to 35 hours with the built up charge in the case but I didn’t test that specification.
The small charging case pulls the earbuds in smoothly to charge them. When you first open the case the buds go to pairing mode. I sometimes have trouble with earbud pairing but these buds were recognized by various devices very quickly – so I give them the highest mark for pairing ease.
I’m wearing them now, and I barely feel them on my head even with my glasses on. I highly recommend these buds as I rated them highest for charging, pairing, controls, sound and comfort.

Soft and Super Sound

Like heaven. Very soft earcups which I need. Covers the entire ear and are adjustable so no pinching on ears with too much pressure. These headphones are excellent quality as well they should be at this price point. The sound is amazing and does include noise cancellation i.e. ‘quiet mode’. The box includes a USB-c charging cable. Also included is a 3mm earphone connector, however they are Bluetooth wireless which I would recommend you use. Pairing with a TV, computer or cell phone is simple; the headphones were found instantly on each source and pairing was successful. You should download the Bose Music App (be sure to get the correct Bose app). This app has controls for audio, phone calls, quiet/aware modes and voice assistant. The app will also tell you the percentage of charge.
I wore the headphones 4 hours without removing them and didn’t know they were on my head, which is fantastic. The bass comes through perfectly. If you are looking for more precise sound reproduction, then these headphones are worth every penny. I highly recommend them.

Cordless & Convenient for Beach Made Smoothies

This cordless Nutribullet mini-blender clicked all the boxes for me. I love it. It is ideal to take to the beach because it is cordless and I can pop a couple ice cubes into the carafe, a banana, some juice and boom, I have a fresh made smoothie. If I want another one, just pull the fruit from my cooler and make another one, fresh and cold; cordless makes it easy. If you want to make a smoothie at home, you can blend it and use the included cap and just take the capped-carafe with you.
I noticed some nice safety features. First when you screw the carafe onto the base, a blue light will blink 5 times to tell you the cap is on properly. Secondly, it will not start the blades unless the carafe is in place. Third you must push the start button twice to start the unit – a good feature to avoid an accidental start. Fourth it comes with a cover to screw on the base while charging to keep little (and big) fingers away from the metal blades.
It is not super powerful so you still need a ‘main’ blender. But for a quick cordless process to make a nice smoothie it is a great option to have. I do highly recommend this solid little cordless blender.

Excellent Crock Pot, Easy to Use

This crockpot worked perfectly. It has a very simple interface but it is all that is needed to operate the device with 4 options for cooking times. You can go for a higher heat and less time or lower heat but cook longer. I made a nice pot roast and chose the higher heat and for the longer time of 6 hours. The pot heated up and perked away and then automatically went to warm mode after the 6 hour programmed time. I had filled the entire 7 quarts with a chuck roast, onions, potatoes, carrots, celery and 3 cups of beef broth. I did follow the recipe to coat the roast with flour, pepper and salt. I’m not good at cooking but it was delicious. The meat was tender and tasty. I could not ask for more from a slow cooker. This unit does have a lid that clamps on so that you could move the entire filled crockpot to another location – this is a useful feature. Also the ceramic crock pot bowl removes from the heater base for easy cleaning.
A bonus item was a small ‘Little Dipper’ pot for making sauces like cheese or salsa etc. This item was terrible. Its feet were not level so it did not sit properly on the table. It has 3 feet and I had to add a washer under one foot to make it level. This was minor compared to the bad design point such that the inner crock pot was not removeable. So now you have a part with an electrical cord that you have to very carefully remove the cooked on grit without getting the bottom part wet. Very poor and I don’t recommend this item at all.
I won’t take a star off for the bonus item as I do highly recommend the main 7 quart crock pot that is well designed and very easy to use and clean.

Powerful, Compact & Glass Carafe

This Oster 2 in 1 blender is a very nice product. It is designed with a glass carafe and metal blade - two very important features. It has the standard low, medium, high and pulse buttons that you need. Plus it has two programmed auto mix settings. One is for smoothies and the other is for salsa. I first tried the smoothie button. I used a mixture of ice cubes, some mango-cranberry juice, a banana and some frozen mango pieces. The smoothie came out perfectly ‘smooth’ and icy cold – very tasty.
You also get a smaller 20 cup carafe that can be used on the blender and then capped and taken on the road. This was handy and this cup did fit well in my car’s cup holders. I also crushed ice easily using this blender and the glass carafe with the metal blades which crush the ice without a problem.
I do highly recommend this well designed blender.

It is very easy to install this printer using the Epson Smart Panel cell phone app. The ability to print from your cell phone is very handy. Next, you go to your PC and install the utilities from the provided DVD disk. You will have the abilities to print and scan from your PC or initiate a scan/copy from the printer control panel. After you have connected the WiFi setup, it is a good idea to check and install the newest firmware, and there is a simple interface to do this.
The installation, though simple, does take about 15 minutes from start to finish. You will install the ink, initialize the ink supply, align the print heads and set up your wireless connection. Don’t rush if it is your first try with the Eco Tank cartridges and don’t touch the exposed top of the supply bottles. Epson very smartly made it so that each color has a different ‘plug’ end such that you cannot put the wrong color ink into the reservoirs. Also the printer senses when the ink reservoir is filled and stops the input of ink – that was kind of magical – well done by Epson.
I tested the printing, copying and scanning for black/white and color printing and was very pleased with the clarity and colors. Of course a big plus is the EcoTank system. The printer includes a larger bottle of ink for each color. I can’t test the claim of 2 years of ink yet, but I certainly observed the ink supplied was at least 5 times what you see in ‘normal’ ink cartridges. Note after the ink is initialized, the reservoirs have lowered because the ink is put into the connecting pipes etc., so don’t be concerned. If you had some ink left in each bottle (which I did have), you can add it at this point. Note to add ink you should use the add ink menu since it will ask you to ‘proceed’ when done so that the ink levels will be recalibrated by the printer.
I’m very pleased with this printer from all functional angles and I am very happy about the EcoTank system which will reduce the time spent for buying/replacing cartridges and will reduce cost of printing for me. I do highly recommend this nice printer.

After buying this product, I am both pleased yet a little disappointed! I needed another player to replace my 5 year old Sony 3-D player (also bought at BB) because it was no longer compatible with YouTube. Since my TV is an LG, I decided to buy an LG player.
The LG BP550 is smaller than my older Sony (another reason I chose it) and has fewer apps but I really didn't care about that as long as YouTube worked and that it also had Netflix and HuluPlus apps. Hooking it up and installing it was quick and easy and completing the system update was also a breeze! Already on sale, I saw it was also available as an Open-Box item so I thought I could save even more buying it at that option...NOT!
Advertised as 'Open-Box Excellent Condition' I ordered it on May 13th and it arrived on the 15th - without the remote! Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that an item labeled as "Returned, used as display model in store, or opened due to packaging damage but remains in like-new condition" meant or means that all accessories, cables, manuals, remotes, etc. are included.
Fortunately, my TV remote was able to do some of the basic stuff for installing and some playback features but that's it. So I make a call to BB and learn that the 4-yr Protection Plan I paid for would not cover this missing remote and was then advised to call LG for a 'free' replacement.
Customer service at LG then directed me to call their authorized parts dealer for my time zone. Of course, they were closed on Saturday and Sunday!
I called the parts dealer today (18th) and was told to contact the retailer since I'd "recently purchased the item and it should be returnable/replaceable under warranty". I explained that I had been informed that it was not and that I was told to call them by both BB and LG!
Subsequently, I was given the part number and price for a replacement remote!
Well it looks as if buying Open-Box didn't save me much, if anything, after all since the replacement remote has to be paid for out of my pocket!
I may be better off returning this player and buying a NEW one instead!

However, I must say that I do like the player for what features I have been able to access while using my TV remote! I look forward to obtaining the full benefits and features when using the actual remote control for the BP550!

Remote Replacement

It's not ideal but if you are missing a remote and/or lose or break it, you can easily download a smartphone app to run it. You could also program a multi device remote like the Harmony 650 which I did. So nowadays a missing remote is not a show stopper but I agree it should have not been missing.

I purchased this with great excitement. I mostly do everyday things, with an evergrowing photo collection. I bought Adobe creative cloud and was ready to go. Fired it up and was shocked at how bad the text looks. I have tried many different settings. I don't know if it is a scaling thing? I love everything else about the unit. Photos look great. I dont game.
The text issue is varies. Some apps, it looks fine... others - terrible. Also, some apps don't scale well at all on the 4K screen.
May return the unit and get a laptop I can plug a second monitor in for my photo work.

Fix for fonts didn't install

The expert pointed to a download and it did not install. I'm glad since I think you just need to go to settings and find the 'cleartype text' setting and run through it to make fonts great. Also I see many of the apps will fix drivers and so forth so there is a learning curve now to see how to run these machines.

Tips For Better Text on AIO 700

I've played with the font's and you may also want to scale text or make it bold for example if you use Windows Live (you can do that within Display Settings). The other tip is that the text is very clear but small so you may find that enlarging text by hitting Ctrl and + (together) once or twice will make some things easier to read. You hit Ctrl and - together to reduce. I didn't use those commands as often on other machines, but it is beautiful to use at times on this machine. By the way videos are wonderful if you use something like Amazon Prime video etc WOW

Lenovo Fix for AIO 700 24ISH

Jason, I did think ClearType helped a little but the scaling and putting 'bold' on helped more. I did see the fix that Lenovo posted. First I flashed the BIOS which they also posted as of 9/10/15. However when I tried their special fix for the font scaling it is an .rar file and I had to load WinZip (free version for now) but it did unpack it. However I never saw it run successfully as it always returned an error code. I am going to call Lenovo on that but the text looks pretty good so maybe it actually ran. I'll post an update on that. By the way the support at Lenovo is abysmal.

It worked for a few hours right out of the box. Then I noticed the screen flashing and the graphics cards crashing. After a reset it freezes after 5 minutes of use. Not sure if it's the pc itself or driver issues with Windows 10, either way it's not worth the trouble. If they can fix these issues then it is absolutely worth the price.

Try Driver Updates & Flash BIOS

If you still have it and if it will stay up long enough, I'd say go to Lenovo's web site and download the newest BIOS, it's easy to update BIOS now. Then go into Device Manager and update both Display drivers. If you bought an open box, I'd also try to reload the whole machine to the factory settings (or BestBuy should do that for you). But if you go to the apps, the app called Lenovo Rescue System will do it for you pretty easily. Then do the stuff I mentioned above.

Checked on Font Scaling Fix

I couldn't get the download from Lenovo's website to install. I downloaded and unpacked the fix, but it returned an error code when I ran it. I spent 40 minutes with Lenovo 1st and 2nd level support. They pretty much had no info on this fix. They didn't open a problem ticket 8005969635. Also their website said you should post a request online to have them call you back, but their process was broken in that area also. Full disclosure: even without this fix, the screen looks awesome to me.

Successful Adjustments for FONTS

Lots of people had problems with the fonts on this 4K hi-def screen. Lenovo support was useless but Geek Squad fixed me right up via remote connection. It might be something others know, but judging by the reviews most people including me just didn't really understand. There are lots of modifications to DISPLAY parameters but what most people should do if they are using this screen for apps like Windows Live is to change the screen resolution to 1920x1080 and change the scaling to 125%. Now everything is beautiful. If you do want to watch a movie in high def, then put it back to 3840x2160 and set scaling to 200%. What is confusing is that there is a choice for 2560x1600 but this is not the same ratio as the screen size so you get bars on each side which you probably don't want - I should have seen this but the Geek Squad enlightened me. Now as to the patch from Lenovo for font scaling, you probably don't need it nor would it do much I am sure. So kudos to the Geek Squad and thanks. It is an awesome machine and in fact even the lower resolution is more than any other PC I have ever had.

JasoninNJ, thanks for posting your comment that installing the Lenovo patch to help font scaling toasted the machine. I won't try again to install it. As I mentioned I don't think it is needed. There will be more ultra HD computer screens and I'm guessing they will add automated switching to show videos in HD but do the rest of your PC work with the lower resolution which is excellent when viewing text.

Text Display Improvement

After playing with various settings I have some hopefully helpful feedback. First of all don't use the 3840x2160 unless you are streaming video, it makes text bad. Also don't use 2560x1600 since it is not a multiple of the 3840x2160 i.e. you'll get bars on both sides of the screen. Do use the 1920x1080 which is also hi-def and fits this screen dimensions properly. Now if you want text a little bigger then go to 'set custom scaling level' and use 110% or 115%; this makes nice readable text. Now here's a quirk I see lots of people having and not just on this PC or brand for Windows 10. You may see occasional video card errors and once in a while the machine may not IPL (just power off and try again it will come up). I think the problem is the video card doesn't get back fast enough to the CPU, and the video card crashes but does recover. Not a problem unless you are playing PC high powered games. So I don't recommend this machine for games, but video streaming and apps like Corel Photoshop are great. Now what you can do to minimize or eliminate the video card crashes (remember it happens on lots of machines with Windows 10, so there will be a fix soon I think). Anyway go to Control Panel and search for 'visual effects', then click on adjust the appearance and performance of Windows. Then select 'Custom' and click the box next to 'smooth edges of screen fonts'. If you optimize for 'best appearance' entirely or for let 'windows choose'... that's when the video card may not keep up I think. If you optimize for 'best'performance' the text looks horrible. Anyway the 'custom' settings work for me to give me nice text and no crashes. This is a stretch but I think the engineers knew there could be a problem, that's why they tried to put in the super high powered video cards, but not good enough for now, I do think this will get fixed by Windows 10 OS soon. This machine for it's price is tremendous and I think worth this minor glitch.

Good News to Add

I wanted to update my review to indicate that a frequent display driver error that said "...Intel Video adapter stopped working but recovered...", has stopped occurring after about 1 week ago when a pretty big Windows 10 update came out. It was never a killer for me since I don't play games but when I googled it, I did see that it was fairly common on many PC's - that's good since it appears Microsoft fixed it. Note there are two video adapters in this machine but the Nvidia one was not failing.

Cut The Cord with AirTV Player. AirTV~s streaming platform integrates local over-the-air (OTA) programming with your streaming services. The AirTV Adapter and an OTA antenna provide local channels like ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX, without a monthly cable bill.
I’m confused. How/ where does it get ota channels? Is there an antenna that comes with it? Similar to the digital antenna I use now for local channels? Or does it get the local ota channels and stream to device via the internet?
It does not get the OTA channels over the internet. You would use the same OTA antenna you may be using with a 'converter' box. There is a 75 ohm cable connector on the SlingTV box and that is where you connect the OTA antenna. This replaces the converter box you may know but has the ability to also get streaming content for channels you subscribe to via the SlingTV account and also Netflix etc. The beauty is you can integrate all these sources of content into one 'MyTV' listing if you like, and be able to see a guide to what's on on the subset of channels you like (or all the channels from all sources if you like). Pretty neat.

I can only say that the one the professional installed for my sister with her new furnace was the Honeywell Lyric T5 at $150 or so. This one is $200. Both are hooked up exactly the same way. Both have WiFi. I think the $200 looks sharper, felt sturdier and has some more advanced features but either one can program AC/Heat. Both are sold by Best Buy. Your professional will install this one if you buy it and tell him to use this nicer one.

My guess on the right speaker missing is that your jack is worn and maybe only one of the stereo channels is getting connected on one end or the other - try a new patch cord. I didn't have a problem pairing this with a PC and an android phone, so I'm guessing you need to be sure the TV is looking for any Bluetooth devices. You don't say whether the Audio Pro paired with your phone for example? When I have trouble pairing I power on/off both devices sometimes that helps. Also don't hit the pair button a bunch of times, just hit it once. Hope this helps.

No, it works with that resolution because that's what I am using with HP Pavilion 32” with 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution - beautiful video, photo and text.

What is the size of the Optane memory on this computer?
When I used the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) application I saw 13GB for the Optane and 993GB for the HDD. The Optane memory card is separate hardware that is paired with the HDD, but you probably knew that.
