I'm writing this review mostly to warn others thinking about getting this as an external hard drive to use with their PS4 now that the 4.50 update has hit. Apparently, because of the "hub" part - the fact that it has 2 USB ports - the PS4 will refuse to use it as an external hard drive. When you try to format it to be used as extended storage, you'll get the error code CE-41899-1, which when looked up on https://support.us.playstation.com/articles/en_US/KC_Article/PS4-External-HDD-Support means you should "Connect the USB storage Device directly to the PS4." Evidently because of the USB ports, the way the drive is set up there isn't a "direct" connection being made.
Since this seems to be more Sony's fault than Seagate though (for not allowing it's use, and for not being clear to begin with that this is the case), I'll give it 4 stars. Sounds like an amazing hard drive, but not the one I apparently need.

Does this use an AC Adapter for the power or is it just run off USB 3.0?
This particular one needs an AC Adapter. Look for one that specifically says "portable" for a hard drive that doesn't need one.
