I thought I'd seen the last of turntables and vinyl records but after nearly 20 yrs without a record player, it was my teenage daughter who motivated me to buy a replacement (since she had brought a record). It brought back memories to hear the hiss of the needle running along the flat portion of the record before the start of the first track. The turntable sounds great and with the builtin pre-amp you can hook it up to receivers/amps that lack a "phono" input - and who would have thought you'd still need a phono input?

I also had issues with my Toshiba. Initially some tech issues -- and I don't do anything fancy. Even though "sufficient" memory is there, it seems that Toshiba has more problems than other brands with the same specs.
But the worst was the hinges failing, just after warranty expiration. I've had other brands for 4+ years with NO problem. No different level of use. Obviously a design flaw.
Toshiba was unsympathetic and did nothing to help. You can get the same specs from other manufacturers for the same price. Stay away from Toshiba until they change their attitude.

Are you saying that you had problems with the hinges on this model or on Toshiba computers in general? Did they crack? How long did you have this model before the hinges failed?

Asus means 10 years ago, quality.
This laptop have a great and beautiful design (the stars are for that) but a very poor performance. May is the processor (never fix by Intel) Celeron, may the hard drive but after two days I returned it because turn off loading Windows in a very slow way.
I exchange for a Toshiba, 10 years ago equal to poor quality.
It work great... up to now.

Bought this near top of the line model and brought it back shortly after as it dropped the network repeatedly- sometimes 3 times an hour. Replaced it with a $49 modem that has worked like a charm.

I gotta agree with Derb, it really doesn't make sense that you replaced this ROUTER with a MODEM. If your modem was the problem in the first place, then buying a new router wouldn't help your situation. Perhaps trying to install a high-end router on a old, obsolete, slow modem was the reason that you didn't reap any benefit from an ultra-fast router? It doesn't prove that expensive is not always better as much as it proves that sometimes you have to update multiple components (and perhaps even your ISP) in order to achieve maximum benefit.

I bought this TV for Christmas for my son-in-law at a great price. Turns out he wanted a 32" for his bar. When he returned it, he couldn't get a store credit, only a refund on my credit card. I'm pretty sure this isn't store policy (I hope).

While I can understand your frustration, the ratings are supposed to go along with the item that you purchased. Was the TV that poor (only 1 star) or was it just not exactly what he wanted in terms of size?

i am not cheap i have 300.00 to spend on a good computer can i get one that not cheap for that price
Celerons are really slow and dated CPUs. For about $300, you should be able to get an AMD A6 or Intel Core i3 laptop. Here are a few options from Best Buy:
