This review is for Netgear Nighthawk AC3200 dual band WiFi Gigabit router with MU-MIMO technology (R7000P)
First of all, let me say a few words about the setup. Netgear made it extremely easy to setup this router. It comes with everything you need to get started: antennas, power cable, ethernet cable and Netgear Up App that needs to be downloaded on your mobile devise.
The Netgear Up App is the easiest way to connect. It walks you thru all steps needed and shows basic info about connected devises and network status. For more advanced setup you can use any browser on any devise, go to www.routerlogin.com page and login using credentials printed on the bottom of the router. I prefer the later since I like to fiddle with my network settings. You can always adjust them later if you need to. This router is equipped with a WPS button that allows to add more devises without typing in passwords.
This router is one impressive machine. It is very fast and it has great range. My house is around 2500sqft and by placing it roughly in the middle I get full bars coverage everywhere in the house. Even in the farthest conner upstairs I have plenty of speed. I also tested connection outside my home, in the yard, still have good signal. There is definitely no dead spots thanks to Netgear Beamforming technology. This Nighthawk didn't just meet, it exceeded my expectations.
It is definitely not the fastest router on the market today but it has most of the same features that routers that cost twice as much have. So I think that for this price it is an excellent value with plenty of features, speed and range.
My favorite feature of this router has to be MU-MIMO technology. This new feature is not always available in more expensive routers which sets this router far ahead of it's competition. MU-MIMO allows multiple users and multiple devises connect to the router at the same time and each one is a priority and maintains full speed and range without sharing bandwidth with others.
This router is not just for home use. I think small businesses will benefit greatly from new MU-MIMO technology since it provides same great speed to lots of devises. That is why I highly recommend this router to small business owners and home users alike. I have been wanting to install security system for a very long time now and when I got the opportunity to try Arlo wire free 3 camera set I got very excited. The biggest put off for me was always how am I going to get power and data cables to opposite corners of my house.
Setup of Arlo cameras is very easy.
Everything is wireless. Don't need any cables. Pop-in four batteries (that are included) into each camera, find a decent spot for magnetic mount, one tiny screw and the camera is ready to go.
Plug-in the base unit into router, download a free Arlo app, create new account by adding the base station 1st and then add one camera at a time to your system by by pressing a sync button on the base and then on camera.

- Free Arlo app with smart alerts that can be pushed and emailed also
- Wide angle lens that has 110deg field of view
- Upgradable up to 5 cameras on one base station

Although Arlo system met my expectations I wish it would be a little bit faster detecting motion and beginning to record. Sometimes if someone walks too fast the camera catches only the the final seconds before the person is out of sight.
I use the cameras mostly to be able to check on my house while away in real time. It did detect much better when I changed motion detection to 100% and video quality to best quality. Although now I'm worried of battery life issue but it is still better then drilling holes thru the siding of the house and trying to wire power to the cameras.
So far batteries perform great. Cameras took hundreds of videos while I was setting them up and moving them around and batteries are staying at almost full charge.

Sometimes there are lots of videos if neighbors kids are playing outside that is why I love the Armed/Disarmed modes since on a basic account it only records 1Gb of videos maximum and then you are required to delete them yourself before any more videos can be recorded. I've set up a schedule for cameras and now don't have to worry about running out of space.
Throughout my test base station has stayed connected to Internet and cameras worked flawlessly. They have pretty strong antennas to be able to send signal to the opposite side of the house from where the base station is situated.
I know how very difficult it is to part yourself from so much money but if security cameras are needed Arlo camera set is a very easy system to install and operate.
I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family.

I don't understand the great reviews. I purchased this microwave and the buttons were non responsive. I am a strong guy and after only three days my index fingers feel blistered and bones in my fingers hurt. Unreal that they sell this with such a terrible keypad. I was bummed because it looks good. I would have to push a button aggressively numerous times to register. I went back to the store to have them swap it out because it was defective. I went to try the display in the store and was amazed by the same difficulty. The supervisor was equally shocked by this. I am awaiting the exchange for the Samsung with the dial operation, which was soooo much better. all of the Samsung keypads have the same issue.
$450 for sore fingers and the number one functionality being the keyboard equals epic fail.

I have this microwave and there is no problems pressing the keys on the panel. I don't even have to press, really, just lay my finger on the key for a second and it reads it since it is a touch panel. Just have to make sure to position a finger slightly above the middle.

Does this smart Wi-Fi router self updates against DoS attacks?
Router automatically checks for latest firmware and notifies you when it's available. Then you need to login into the web GUI and update it.

Can you get a still viewing from the cameras w/o motion activation? Perhaps just to check cameras are working?

I think they are rated 60ft. My camera to base is 40ft and camera has 2 out of 3 bars connection and work just fine. Absolutely no issues.

what does the IP desiginate in the security camera
No, there is no designated ip. You can only connect using Arlo app or thru Arlo.com in your browser
