Very Good Entry 4K HDR TV ... Awesome Value!
on February 6, 2017
Posted by: Jacob
Purchased Saturday; 65" 4K with HDR10 support ... I adjusted the picture to my preference using the settings for the 50" H8C from a ratings website as a starting point and after a couple of days experience with the TV I'm very happy and satisfied with my purchase.
It was $100 off just a couple of days ago, so at under $850 with taxes it definitely made it even more of a value. Hisense/Opera App Store is still missing Hulu, but I'm using an Apple TV and Fire TV. Netflix and Amazon 4K content looks Good.
480, 720, and 1080 upscaling is really good IMO; the Super Bowl looked good and OTA local channels look great. No noticeable trailing or ghosting or pixelation at all during the game. I'm sitting about 8' from the screen.
Overall it has satisfied my appetite for a 4K with HDR. Nearest 65" with HDR is hundreds more. Keep in mind this is not a premium TV like Vizio P Series or Samsung KS8000 or KS9000.
However, if you are looking for an entry to mid level tv, no matter the brand this could very well fit the bill and may prove to be the best value of all the entry options from all brands given the HDR capabilities.
It offers just enough features and picture adjustments. Also the built in speakers provide very good sound, but I am using a sound bar anyways. The DBX-TV audio features are nice as well.
Overall I give it a five because it's very good with great value due to the HDR, CEC functions, remote quick app and live tv access buttons, the price, and free 4 year warranty with in home service makes it a winner! Only time will tell on how well it holds up, but hopefull I won't need to test the warranty or in-home service.

Reviewing as UHD/Blu-Ray/DVD player
By evenest
I won't speak to this device as a gaming console, as I purchased it based upon the salesperson's suggestion as a UHD player. I would urge you to spend your money on a dedicated media player. The lip-sync is off on the console (regardless of which format you use). I followed various on-line advice on how to fix it, and none of it works. As of December 24, 2016, the blu-ray player app is garbage. I've tested each format (UHD/BR/DVD) on the system and the lip-sync and sound is off quite noticeably I then, after purchasing a dedicated UHD player, tested the same three discs and the sound works properly. I also tested two of the discs in a different console, and they worked fine as well. This may be a great game console, but it is a terrible media player. Don't purchase it for that purpose. [A quick search of the web shows that this has been an ongoing issue with the Microsoft Xbox One blu-ray app since, at least, May 2014--I probably should have done better research before making the purchase.]

This was very helpful for me as I am about to purchase a 4K blu ray play but thought maybe grab the Xbox One S for more value with gaming. I am glad I read this.

Awesome TV for great price!
By VerifiedOwner
This TV is a Hisense 65 inch 4K model 65H8C and I purchased it to replace my older 1080p Toshiba 55 inch. I was amazed at the picture quality after watching some 4K videos on YouTube. I am also pleased with the 4 HDMI ports and 3 USB ports. I have a lot of devices hooked up and could even use 5-6 HDMI ports but 4 is my minimum. The sound is not that great but with some tweaking it is OK. I use a 5.1 surround sound system in my living room whenever I want to watch a movie but normally when I'm watching CNN or a regular TV broadcast station the sound is acceptable. The apps are acceptable but I wish it had the older VIDAA interface rather than this newer one which uses the Opera App Store rather than the Google Play Store. Available apps are not that great but it does provide the most popular ones like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Crackle, Vudu, and a browser which I did get to work with my Logitech mouse. So far I can not find a way to use a keyboard but I did find an app on my Android phone that works for that purpose. Trying to use the remote to move about on the on screen keyboard is just too tedious. It is pretty heavy at 66 lbs and I did wall mount it using a Cheeta mount with a 15 deg tilt. Overall I gave it 5 stars for the performance and value. For the apps and sound I would rate it more at 4 stars. The big kicker is also the 4 year parts, labor and in-home service that it comes with. I called Hisense customer service and they answered right away and were very helpful with questions I had about HDR and firmware updating. They also emailed me a PDF manual to have incase I needed it. Hisense is #1 selling brand in China and they are doing a good job. Don't hesitate to give this set a try for the money it is worth $100's more.
