Best sound quality
on February 10, 2015

I tried many other headsets before I finally gave the Sennheiser G4me One a try (despite the stupid sounding name). Wow! What a refreshing experience. Most gaming headsets have a bias towards heavy, boomy bass which really ruins the sound, especially if you listen to music. This headset has a very natural and clean sound with a good balance of bass, mid, and highs. The microphone also provides excellent quality and noise cancellation. It makes an audible click when you mute it. It's fairly light and comfortable for a long gaming session, although I wouldn't say it was the most comfortable headset I've used.
The open ear design really makes the Sennheiser shine. It creates a more airy less closed in sound environment and Makes the song or game feel more expansive. Voice communication is fantastic. The voices of my teammates sound so much clearer through this headset. . Another benefit of the open ear design is that you can actually hear yourself talking in the microphone (which you can't in a closed design).
There are no gimmicks and no frills with this headset (other than its name). What you get is a headset worthy of an audiophile who also plays games. I have no doubt this will last me for a good long while.

Good headset but problems on a PC
on February 10, 2015

Disclaimer: My experience is based on using this exclusively with a PC and may not apply if you plan to use this with a console.
I found the build quality to be excellent. It feels solid, like it will last. Unfortunately, that build quality (plus the battery) make it very heavy and may present some comfort issues. The sound deserves high marks. Very strong bass with balanced mids and highs. It sometimes skews a little bass heavy, but it's a tight, punchy, high quality bass. The microphone is also very good and is highly adjustable and unobtrusive. The battery lasted me about 5-6 hours on a charge which is almost 2 gaming sessions for me.
I really wanted to like this wireless headset. It has so many really nice features, but there is a fatal flaw. The wireless transmitter is in the right ear, and it emits an audible buzz every time the microphone picks something up. It's some kind of feedback between the transmitter and the right speaker. The closed ear design is very isolating, so you can very clearly hear the buzzing. I checked with Astro on their forums and scores of other users are having the same problem. There is no fix for this (and it doesn't look like there ever will be). It may not bother some people, but once I noticed it, I couldn't unnotice it. As expensive as these are, they shouldn't have this problem. For that reason I had to return them.

Chat in crystal clarity using these SteelSeries Siberia v3 61356 over-the-ear headphones, which feature a noise-reducing microphone that captures crisp sound and can be folded into the earcup when not in use. Sound isolation blocks outside noise.

Super comfortable but sound quality a let down
on February 10, 2015

This is maybe the most comfortable headset Ive tried. Feels light on your head and soft on your ears. The microphone design is innovative and there's no lack of bass in the sound. They are fairly attractive looking and build quality seems acceptable for the price (although I wonder about the durability of the material around the ears). The cable is also very long. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends.
I found the microphone sound recording quality to be poor, but not a deal breaker. What really drags these down is the sound quality. The bass is loud, but it's the cheap boomy type of base that impresses people who don't have good ears for sound quality. The mids and highs are tinny and distant sounding. These are a closed ear (isolating) headset, which means you will have difficulty hearing yourself talk into the mic. The sound feels disconnected and further away and creates a very odd listening environment, kind of like watching the action from a distance.
I don't expect a headset to blow me away in this price range, but sound quality is just too important to be neglected this badly. It's a shame because they have a lot of good things going for them.

One of the best for Palm style users
on February 3, 2015

It took me a while to find this mouse. I'm very particular about my grip so I went through a number of gaming mice before I came upon the Naos 7000. It's meant to be palmed in your hand (as opposed to claw or fingertip grip). The ergonomics are very good and it's extremely comfortable to hold. Its also an optical mouse which is much better for accuracy and precision than laser, so it's ideal for FPS gamers like myself. The coating on it gives it a very smooth feeling and your hand doesn't sweat as much, although it can feel a little slippery compared to other mice, but you get used to it. The software allows you to customize it and fine tune to your pad surface. You will need a decent mousepad for this, since it's optical. I would urge palm grip style gamers to give this one a try.

Best out there

I tried many different pads from cloth to hard plastic to aluminum and this was easily the best. Cloth pads give you more precision but you have to increase mouse sensitivity since they don't glide as easily. Hard plastic pads glide very easily and let you lower your mouse sensitivity, but aren't quite as precise. This Manticor aluminum pad is somewhere inbetween. It gives you nearly the speed of hard plastic, plus the surface has a textured coating that gives similar precision to cloth. It's also very nice and cool feeling on the hands. Only downside is that you have to take care of it. Keep dust and crumbs off of it and the bottom of the mouse. I use a microfiber cloth to clean it before every use. It's expensive, but it was easily the winner in my mousepad shootout.

Great movie! Ultraviolet Digital Copy is terrible!
on September 28, 2012
Posted by: TheSmokingMan
The movie is great! It's the best animated Batman film yet! Well worth a watch and I'll be looking forward to part 2.
My problem is with the absolutely dreadful digital copy that comes with this. It uses Ultraviolet which is the new digital copy system the movie industry is pushing on consumers. I had never used it before so I decided to give it a chance. It's not an easy process and it's time consuming. You are required to make a Flixster account and then you have to make an Ultraviolet account and link the two together. I couldn't get the accounts to link and kept getting errors. After several tries (and lots of wasted time) I switched browsers and it seemed to work. Then Flixster forced me to download their awful video player before I could download and watch the movie. Once I got downloaded it, the video quality turned out to not be very good, and the Flixster player, which is the only player that can play this movie, kept flickering during playback (it's junk software).
Someone please explain to me why we, the PAYING customers, are made to jump through hoops with this terrible digital copy? I could have illegally torrented this movie in less than 15 minutes with no trouble if I wanted to. I would have a file I could easily move to my other devices and play on any player, but instead, because I actually paid Warner Bros, I'm stuck with this lousy Ultraviolet digital copy.
What's great about it: Best animated Batman movie yet!
