Improve daily oral hygiene routines with this Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush. An internal sensor regulates applied pressure to prevent soreness of teeth and gums, and the BrushSync reminder lets you know when it's time to change the brush head. This Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush removes up to seven times more plaque than a regular toothbrush to maintain oral health.

Amazing Toothbrush
on April 9, 2018
Posted by: MFamily

I wanted to wait until my break in period was done and I got used to the Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100 before reviewing. This is my first sonic electric toothbrush and it took a little time getting used to it and properly learning how to brush my teeth with it. I am extremely impressed and absolutely love it. The ProtectiveClean 5100 comes packaged with a charging cable/base, travel case, and a single brush head. Some of the things I really love about the too brush are:
• The break in period for new users to get used to the toothbrush.
• The pressure sensor that lets you know you are brushing too hard.
• The 3 brush modes (Cleaning, Whitening, and Gum Care).
• The quadrant timer to let you know how long to brush a section and to move onto the next.
• Smart brush sensor to let you know when it is time to change to a new brush.
• Multiple brush types available and they work with the pressure and smart brush sensors.
• Small charging base with audible beep to let you know it is charging.
• Fast battery charging and long lasting charge.
The Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100 is not too big and it is lighter than I expected. It is comfortable in your hand and very easy to brush your teeth with. The brush button and mode button are easily accessible. My only minor issue with the ProtectiveClean 5100 is that the included brush is kind of small. My wife already had a Sonicare toothbrush and had a few different brush types so it was not a big deal. Each time I use it my teeth and mouth just feel amazingly clean. No other toothbrush I have used in the past has cleaned like this one. I will never buy any other kind of toothbrush ever again.

Sling TV Streamer Not Quite for Us
on March 6, 2018

The AirTV Streaming Media Player with OTA (Over the Air) has some potential but in our case there are more cons than pros. The 4K (limited by source of course) streaming option is definitely nice and the OTA adapter and option is very cool. Depending on the antenna type you are using and channels in your area this option can vary for you but I can pick up over two dozen channels in my area. Size wise the device is a good size. Plugging in the OTA adapter makes its depth a bit long but it is still small enough to comfortably sit inside any entertainment center cubby or not be too overwhelming sitting on top. The remote is a bit on the large size compared to other devices we have and it needs a couple more buttons. The remote finder option it pretty neat though. Having both Ethernet and wireless options is definitely a plus. I tested both and wireless performance was excellent but with my 1GB fiber internet connection I went with the Ethernet option.
We struggled through the setup a little. The device and the remote (was done separately) both wanted software / firmware updates and it took a while for both to complete. We already have quite a few online streaming services and did not need the Sling TV service. Even though the setup wizard says you can cancel out of the account setup and sign in as a guest, it does not work. You must sign up and create a Sling TV account in order to complete the AirTV device setup. This was a big con for us. We would have much preferred to just link all of our other subscribed streaming services than having to sign up for a new one.
Once you have finished setting up the device up you can tell that the AirTV device is a Sling TV device with additional features. The interface is a bit confusing at first and heavily swayed towards Sling TV. It takes a bit to figure out where everything else is and we felt the interface overall could use a little more fine tuning and made a bit more user friendly. We second this on the channel guide as well. Having an OTA channel guide is a bonus. Overall the guide is a bit laggy and not quite up to par compared to say a cable / satellite service guide or some of the other streaming devices we have. Another thing we don’t like when you have a show paused and then want to fast forward or rewind, it doesn’t not change what is on the screen. It stays paused on the screen image until it is done moving forward or backward.
All in all the AirTV device doesn’t really work for us and our environment. If you are already or are thinking on being a Sling TV subscriber then this device would be a much better choice for you. We will probably give it another chance or two after some software updates.

Excellent and Easy Wireless Home Security System
on November 8, 2017
Posted by: MFamily
from Central Texas
Very impressive wireless home security system that is easy to setup and install. I wanted to wait to activate it until after we fully set things up and got everything placed where we wanted it. Opening the box you can see that most everything is packaged quite well. The only issue I saw was that the keychain remote had come loose from the packaging and had been bouncing around inside the box. Nothing was damaged but it sounded like something was broken when I was opening the box.
Basic installation and setup is very easy. The guided setup using a computer and setup instructions are very detailed and super easy to follow. Just plug the keychain remote into a USB port on your computer and the setup wizard automatically starts. It walks you through configuring and setting up the sensors as well as creating your online account. I highly recommend writing on each of the sensors empty boxes exactly where that particular sensor is being installed. You can add custom labels to each sensor later on so you know exactly which one is having an issue or was triggered when the alarm goes off. Before setting things up I also suggest looking at the entry sensors and carefully determining the best placement for them. Due to my window design and the trim surrounding my exterior doors, I had to move things around a few times before I could successfully get the sensors to work correctly. They would chime when opened but the alarm said they were not installed correctly (which was kind of weird). This added an extra hour or so to my installation time. The motion sensors range and sensitivity are affected by the placement of the device. They look 90 degrees horizontally and 45 degrees down. If you have larger pets then you will need to either put them up higher on the wall or turn them upside down. I chose to put them up higher because I was installing them in larger rooms. You will most likely go through a few of the included extra adhesive strips as you are testing your system to find the best placement of the sensors for your home. Our walls are textured and it was a little difficult to fully adhere the sensor plate to the wall and get it to stay. We plan on going back and permanently installing the sensors with screws after a couple months and we are completely satisfied with their locations.
It took me a little over two hours from unboxing to having everything installed. Thoroughly test your system a couple of times once you have all sensors installed. This is also a very simple and easy process. There are a number of different sensors that you can add to your system. The alarm system can support up to 41 total sensors which is more than enough for our larger two store house. We added a few more entry and a couple motion sensors to the system. Adding new sensors to the system is also very easy. You can do this from the online dashboard or you can do this from the keypad. The online dashboard is much easier – select the sensor type, enter the serial number, and tell it what alarm settings you want. We plan on adding a few more to the system very soon. You can highly customize the entire system from the online dashboard based the sensor type and your system needs which is very nice. Different sensor types have different alarm settings. One of the really neat features to the entry sensors is that you can configure it to alert only mode. This is really convenient if you have a door or cabinet that you don’t need to trigger the alarm but would like to be notified when it is opened.
The alarm monitoring service is 24/7/365 and has two different service plans. The standard plan is $14.99 / month and the interactive plan is $24.99 / month. There are no required contracts or commitments and you can cancel at any time. If you are not signed up for one of the monitoring services the alarm system still fully functions. It just means no police or fire departments will be dispatched to your home. Both of these service plans are very reasonably priced and are cheaper than most monitored alarm systems out there. The new alarm system includes 30 days free for the interactive plan. The interactive plan adds the online dashboard, SMS alerts, and email alerts. These three enhancements to the alarm system make the extra $10 / month definitely worth it in our case. The online dashboard allows for a much finer control of the system and with two younger children and three dogs we are bound to have some false alerts. A couple of really nice features to the monitoring service are that all contacts on the account are called first before the police are dispatched. Another very nice feature is that the alarm service includes a cellular based monitoring (at no extra charge). You don’t have to plug the system into your home phone if you don’t want to. This also allows you to place the alarm base station just about anywhere in your house as long as there is a power outlet nearby. The system base station included a backup battery which will keep your alarm system on and fully functioning in the event of a power outage. Since all sensors are fully wireless and have lithium batteries they will all also fully function. These are supposed to last about five years according to the instructions.
The only things we were not too fond of was the sound level of the siren from the base station and the length of the included screws for the sensors and keypads. The alarm siren coming from the base station is only about 85db and is not loud enough to hear outside of your house. This is especially true if you have the base station tucked away out of site in a closet. It would be nice to at least hear something outside of your house to alert nearby neighbors when the alarm is triggered. We are going to add the 105db siren to our system because of this. The mounting screws to mount the sensors and keypad are way too small to really securely attach to the wall. We mounted the keypad to the wall and I had to drill the mounting holes on the mounting plate a little larger to accommodate a larger screw size.
All in all we are very impressed so far with the SimpliSafe alarm system. We would definitely highly recommend it to anyone who is shopping around for any kind of alarm system especially if you are looking for a self-installed system. Everything about it is “Simple and Safe”.

4K TV With Strong Picture But Lacking A Little
on October 17, 2017
Posted by: MFamily
from Central Texas
I have had the 55H9D Plus installed now for a couple of days and overall it is a pretty good TV. Most of the time I have been spending calibrating the TV for my connected devices (DirecTV receiver, PS3, XBOX360, Fire TV, and 4K Blu-Ray Player) and testing different video content types. I was flipping back and forth between the Fire TV and Blu-Ray devices to test / fine tune a 4K video source. When you take the TV out of the box you will notice it is a pretty nice looking TV. It has a sleek looking slim silver bezel and the included stand gives it a nice stylish look.
There are plenty of ports on the side and back of the TV to connect your devices. There are four HDMI ports total with two on the side and two on the back. Two of the HDMI ports are 2.0a and support HDCP 2.2 and the other two are HDMI 1.4 ports. You will also find three USB ports (2-2.0 and 1-3.0), component and composite video connections, antenna connector, and LAN port. There are also optical and headphone audio out ports. Setting up the TV initially was very easy. The wizard walks you through the basic settings and connecting the TV to your home network. The interface and menu options are clean and easy. Everything is pretty much where you would expect it and there are a number of advanced / expert settings that you can tweak to customize the TV to your specific needs. Also, flipping through the interface and various menus was quite fast.
It took me a little while to customize the picture settings based on the video source and device type I was using. I wanted to watch a variety of content before writing up a review. I watched standard TV, multiple sports programs (baseball, hockey, and football), streamed shows (Daredevil, Death Note, The Tick), a couple of 4K Blu-Ray movies (Deadpool and John Wick 2), and had my kids play a number of PS3 and XBOX games. After calibrating things to my liking I did not really notice any motion blur or judder while watching the various content types. Brightness and contrast levels appear to be really good but the black levels look to be lacking a bit. This was more noticeable when viewing HDR content. White levels are excellent and the overall color gamut is pretty impressive. While watching SDR content colors are bright, accurate, and quite vivid. Background details and environments appear detailed and there were a number of scenes that the picture and colors looked really good. This was not quite the case with HDR content though. Finer details did not appear to be as crisp and detailed. Shadowy and darker scenes looked nice but there were a number of times the mediocre black levels stood out. Flesh tones are nicely balanced with both SDR and HDR content. Overall, the picture when watching SDR content was quite excellent. HDR content didn’t quite give me the same experience I am used to like with my other 4K TV.
Sound quality isn’t bad for TV speakers. Bass levels aren’t really great but for listening from the TV it is not half bad. It is better than most TV speakers. We have an older sound bar with wireless sub system that I hooked up to the TV using the optical output. We seem to be having some sporadic issues with it. Sometimes there is a chirp sound when switching channels or inputs, sometimes there is a serious lag in sound, and sometimes there is no sound at all. There were no issues with the sound bar with the TV we disconnected before hooking up the H9D Plus. We would have to change inputs on the TV or power cycle it in order to fix the issue.
The remote control is a little on the larger side. The buttons are nicely spaced and organized. The commonly used buttons are where you would expect them to be and easy to find. There are five quick launch buttons for common services – Amazon, Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, and Fandango Now. We did not configure the “Smart TV” services on the TV since we have the configured on other devices connected to the TV. Scanning through things though you will see a number of the standard services but we noticed that there were a few common ones missing which was kind of surprising. Most noticeable were no Hulu, Crunchyroll, PlayStation Vue, or Sling TV. All in all the 55H9D Plus is a pretty good TV but for this price point I was hoping for a little bit better. It is definitely worth looking at and comparing if you are out shopping for a new 4K TV though.

Excellent 2-in-1 Laptop
on October 13, 2017
Posted by: MFamily
from Central Texas
The Dell Inspiron 7573 is a pretty impressive laptop that will suit just about any user’s needs. The laptop came packaged about the same as most laptops do these days. The laptop is secured nicely inside the box and it included the AC adapter, quick start guide, and warranty/regulatory information. Upon taking the laptop out of the box I noticed it to be a bit on the heavy side (about 5lbs). The weight makes using it in tablet mode a little cumbersome depending on where / how you are using it in that mode but overall it is not too bad and you can get used to it fairly quick.
The general specs of the laptop are an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U CPU (8MB Cache, up to 4.0GHz), 12GB DDR4 2400MHz memory, 2TB 5400 rpm hard drive, Intel UHD 620 graphics, 15.6 FHD with touch display (supports pen), 802.11ac wireless dual band & Bluetooth 4.2 adapters, USB 3.1 (Gen 1 & Type-C) ports, Waves MaxxAudio, SD card reader, backlit keyboard, and Windows 10 Home edition.
Setting up the laptop is the same as any new computer these days and simple. Just step through the setup wizard screens and you are up and running in a short amount of time. Once the setup was complete and I was brought to the desktop screen I noticed a bit of a lag when trying to do things. I could see there were a number of post setup application / driver updates and McAfee that were causing some extremely high disk usage (95-100% utilization). After waiting for the updates to finish and uninstalling McAfee (not a big fan of the preinstalled version that comes with the laptop) I rebooted the computer and performance was about what I expect from these kinds of hardware specs. Performance wise, the Inspiron 7573 will be more than ample for almost all regular users. I would have much preferred a 7200 rpm or an SSD drive over the 2TB drive space but for this price point it is common. The hard drive speed is about the only thing you will notice a lag in performance periodically during normal usage of the laptop.
Battery life is about what you would expect from a 3-cell battery. With standard usage (i.e. standard software applications, email, general web surfing, etc…) you can expect about 4-6 hours. The battery life can be adjusted in a number of ways to get almost twice that (i.e. Windows display / power settings, Dell Power Manager, etc…). Full battery charge time appears to be about 1 ½ - 2 hours. The included AC adapter has a small power brick to it (which is nice) and cord length is definitely long enough. Sound is quite nice for a laptop. Generally you will use some sort of headphones when watching or listening to things but the Waves MaxxAudio sound was surprising. There are a number ample ports and connections located on the sides of the laptop. Wireless performance is excellent from the dual band adapter.
Here are some of my favorite features of the Inspiron 7573. I really like the backlit keyboard and FHD touch screen. The touch screen is very responsive and accurate. The screen is very crisp, bright, and clear. The 2-in-1 360-degree rotating hinge screen is also a very nice feature. The hinges appear to be stiff and strong and should hold up over time. Flipping to tablet mode is definitely a cool feature.
Aside from the hard drive speed the only other thing I am not a big fan of is the touchpad. It is a bit on the larger side and kind of overly sensitive. The sensitivity can be adjusted but I found myself accidentally swiping or touching the touchpad when typing on the keyboard from time to time. Not a big deal and I will probably get used to it over time.
The Inspiron 7573 is definitely a solid laptop and I definitely recommend it. It has many excellent features and some great hardware for the price point. If you are shopping for a new laptop I would put this one towards the top of your list.

Excellent Security Camera Packed With Features
on August 8, 2017
Posted by: MFamily
from Central Texas
An excellent internet based security camera that is extremely easy to setup. The Logitech Circle 2 security camera is wired for power and Wi-Fi for connectivity camera so placement of the camera is dependent upon an outlet and your home Wi-Fi network. It comes with a wall mount adapter or a solid enough base so you can place it on a shelf or something. There are additional accessories that can be purchased for different / better mounting options for both inside and outside of your home.
The camera is packaged nicely and the setup instructions are simple and easy to follow. I setup the camera using my iPad in a little over 5 minutes. The camera is easily managed through the app and is available for all platforms. There are audio as well as visual notifications on the camera letting you know what it is doing during the setup process which is nice. The camera (and each additional camera if you are installing more than one) is independent and does not require a hub to connect like many other security camera solutions. This is a nice feature in that it allows you to place the camera just about anywhere as long as your home Wi-Fi network will allow a solid connection to it.
Image quality is quite excellent and you are given the option of setting the camera to multiple video formats. This setting, of course, is dependent upon the amount of bandwidth your home Internet connection allows for. All of the video formats give you a nice, clear picture. You also have the ability to change the viewing angle of the camera with 180 degrees being the widest viewing angle. Depending on the placement of the camera, this allows for a very large area to be displayed. We have a fairly open downstairs area in our home and we can view almost 2/3 of the downstairs with where we have the camera placed. There is about a 2-3 second delay in live video you will notice when viewing the live video feed in the app.
Audio quality from the microphone is also quite excellent. There are flexible settings for the microphone and depending on your placement and activity around the camera, you will need to test the various settings to find the one that will work best for you. There is a built in speaker on the camera to allow for “two way” audio but it is one of the only things that does not appear to function very well. Audio coming from the speaker when you use the talk function is quite low and very difficult to hear / understand. This is especially true is there is any noise or ambient sounds in the room. It is not a big deal but it is definitely something that could be improved in a newer version of the camera or hopefully with some additional settings in the management app.
The camera / Logitech account comes with 24 hours of free cloud recording storage and basic features. I wish it were a little longer than just one day worth of storage but there are additional storage options if you would like to pay for them (monthly or annual charges). If you want to take advantage of all of the advanced features and options of the camera then you will have to sign up for the Premium Subscription service. The daily brief option is pretty cool. It gives you “quick time lapse” of any activity that was recorded for the day. You can also select individual times that a recorded event happened and quickly view it in normal speed.
All in all the Logitech Circle 2 security camera is an excellent security camera packed with a lot of features and options. Aside from the couple of minor issues with paying for the advanced features and the two way speaker, I would definitely recommend.

Excellent Sounding & Easy Setup Soundbar Solution!
on July 6, 2017
Posted by: MFamily
from Central Texas
The soundbar and subwoofer comes in a large “L” shaped box that is quite heavy (60+ lbs.) and difficult to carry by yourself so an extra pair of hands is recommended in moving it before taking it out of the box. It is packaged very well and the components are protected nicely. Once unboxed, the basic setup and installation instructions are detailed and easy to follow. It includes a 4K-capable HDMI cable which is nice. You simply plug one HDMI cable from the OUT port on the soundbar and into the HDMI1 port on your TV. Next, connect any other devices (i.e. cable/satellite box, game system, etc…) you are going to use with the soundbar into the HDMI IN 1/2/3 ports. Plug in the power cables for the soundbar and subwoofer and power on your TV (make sure it is set to the correct input). Power on the soundbar system and follow the simple setup wizard displayed on your TV. I was unboxed, installed, and completely setup in about 15 minutes. The one thing we are not too sure about is wall mounting the soundbar. The mount points on the back of the soundbar do not line up with any wall studs below our TV. Due to its weight we are still trying to figure out the best way to mount it on the wall.
There are a quite a number of advanced options and extra features that really allow you customize the soundbar to your particular tastes. These allow you to take advantage of any number of devices that you would like to utilize the soundbar with. Connectivity – HDMI / Analog IN / Optical TV IN / USB / LAN / WLAN / Bluetooth (supports device and BT headphones) / Chromecast / Music Services. As you can see from the list you can connect and use just about anything with this soundbar. I recommend customizing the sound settings for your room environment (speakers distance and ceiling height). I also recommend playing around with the different sound fields to find the one(s) you like best based on the sound source (i.e. various movie and TV show types, music, video games, etc…). The ClearAudio+ sound field does a pretty decent job of automatically selecting the sound field for you based on the source and we leave it set to that most of the time. You also have the options of amplifying voice dialogues, subwoofer level, and a low level night volume.
This is where we were really impressed. After customizing the settings and finding the sound fields we liked best, we were amazed by the rich and enveloping sound quality. We have listened to just about every possible type of TV show, movie, sports, and music type and the sound is awesome! Every once in a while we have to adjust the sound field or voice dialogue setting but mostly we only have to sit back and enjoy things. You can clearly hear dynamic sound all around you. There is no distortion when listening at high volume levels. My only complaint is there is no DTS support. This is definitely the perfect solution for our master bedroom entertainment setup.
Although it is a little pricey, the HT0ST5000 is definitely and excellent option if you are looking for an easy to install and excellent sounding soundbar solution for your home entertainment system. You are not having to run wires all around to connect multiple speakers and the subwoofer is wireless so it can be placed anywhere to meet your room requirements. This is our third soundbar with subwoofer solution and it is hands down the best. Highly recommended product!

OK but not great wireless earbud headphones
on July 1, 2017
Posted by: MFamily
from Central Texas
We have a number of different wireless earbud headphone sets and the Epic2 headphones would be OK compared to the other ones we have. While the packaging they come in looks nice, they were kind of a pain to fully remove from the box due to the way that they were fastened to the packaging. Having the wide variety of ear tips was surprising and quite nice. We have settled on a couple of favorites and they are easy to install. Putting them on and getting them to fit snug on your ear takes some practice. They don’t seem to be as comfortable as some of our other wireless earbud headsets if you are wearing them for a long time. We seemed to have to tweak and adjust them more often than our other headphones.
Setup and pairing was pretty easy but we were not a big fan of all of the app permission requirements. Once paired though the app is easy to use and has some nice options. Battery life is pretty good and charging times are decent. One thing I noticed is the flap that covers the charging port is kind of flimsy and I am not sure how long it is going to hold up. The overall sound quality is OK. The headphones don’t have the bass response I tend to prefer based on my music and media streaming preferences. Phone call quality is OK as well. Hearing what the caller is saying is a lower sound quality versus some of our other headphones. If you are looking for a set of wireless earbud headphones to use with a variety of things then there are better options out there.

The precise ergonomic design ensures you stay comfortable throughout the day even if you're a power user, and the additional side button lets you create a custom setup. Smooth gliding is assured from this Logitech mouse thanks to the low-resistance base that slips over any surface.

Another Awesome Wireless Mouse from Logitech!

Definitely one of the best wireless mouse devices I have ever used. I have been in the Information Technology industry for over 20 years and I love this mouse! My go to wireless mouse device for the past couple of years has been the Logitech Performance MX (I have four of them) and this mouse is even better. The size, weight, and ergonomic comfort is very similar to the Performance MX. The MX Master 2S is very comfortable in your hand. It works nicely on multiple surface types and colors.
Button locations are placed in good spots on the device and are easy to use. I would prefer the buttons on the side to be a little farther forward on the device but it is not that big of a deal. The “forward” button should also be a little larger. Having the multiple scrolling buttons is very nice. The vertical scrolling option based on the speed you are scrolling at was surprising. When scrolling at a slower speed you get a click resistance feeling as you scroll (standard for just about any scrolling mouse button). When you scroll at a high speed the button automatically changes to a smooth and fast mode which allows you to quickly move up / down on a page.
In order to take advantage of the full functionality of the mouse and really customize its features you need to install the Logitech software (easily downloadable from the Logitech web site). This is standard though for all of their peripheral devices. Setup is simple and the ability to easily pair it with multiple devices using multiple connectivity options is awesome. Battery life is excellent and it recharges fairly quickly. All in all I highly recommend this mouse!

Excellent Robot Vacuum With a Couple of Issues
on June 14, 2017

This robot vacuum is quite nice but does have a few issues. We have had or have two different manufacturer robot vacuums and now this Samsung POWERbot R7040. Out of the box, general setup of the vacuum is pretty easy but configuring the app is a little confusing. One thing I did not like was that the vacuum and the mobile device you were using to configure the vacuum had to be on the same wireless network in order for the setup to work. We have multiple wireless networks in our home and one dedicated to general devices that have no business or need to be on the same network as all of our computers and network storage devices. Another thing that we do not like is the charging base station. Compared to the other two vacuums this base is much larger and requires a power brick versus just a power cord that plugs into the smaller charging base station. The included remote is a nice feature but not necessarily needed.
This is definitely the quietest of the three robot vacuums, which is very nice. As far as suction / vacuuming power goes, the Samsung R7040 is definitely the better of the three. It agitates the carpet nicely and cleans very well. It also cleans the edges very well. Like all robot vacuums you still have to empty out the debris container after each time it runs (on a daily basis in our case) but it holds a decent amount and is the same size if not larger than the two other robot vacuums we have used in the past. The cleaning pattern seems to be excellent and is very methodical as it moves from room to room to clean. Overall, it appears to do a very good job of cleaning each room before it runs out of battery and has to return to its charger.
This robot vacuum is the tallest of the three models we have used. That is a pro and a con for us. There are some areas in which the other two robot vacuums would get stuck or hung up on that the Samsung can’t get into and does not have the issue. The con would be is that there are a few places that it cannot get to which the other two vacuums would be able to clean. The Samsung moves very well between the different floor surfaces (regular carpet, deep carpet, tile, and areas with rugs) and does not get hung up or have issues when moving between the different surfaces. We have had one issue though with the Samsung getting hung up in front of our fireplace (see image). If it is vacuuming at the right angle, then the larger wheels cause it to ride up onto the tile in front of it and then it gets hung up.
The last thing that we do not like is there is no boundary sensor. You have to install boundary strips (magnetic tape) in order to prevent the vacuum from going into places you do not want it to. We would much rather just put a small electronic sensor tucked away in the corner versus having to put some tape to create a boundary.
