Seems to be a good printer with a few tweeks

I had doubts after reading some reviews but bought anyways. The printer is loud and sounds cheap, read this in another review. It is, but in the settings you can check quiet mode and it sounds like a more quality computer. The complaint about print quality is valid the default setting standard is like draft on most computers. If you change the setting to standard vivid the print quality is more like a normal printer. It always defaults to standard, this computers draft setting is a joke it is so light. I assume the printer standard setting which is like draft on most computers is how it gets it high page count. It was easy to connect to the computer it is being used wirelessly. I chose to download the software instead of using the disc provided. It updates the firmware automatically. The other complaint I read was the mess when pouring the ink, not true or this people have problems pouring milk into a glass too. After filling the ink chambers I had to small ink dot on my finger and none spilled outside the printer chamber. The other thing I read was it only works on a 2.4ghz wireless system that is true, but it also says that in the quick setup instructions which are easy to read. I would have given this printer a 5 star rating if it defaults in Standard Vivid as that is true to what other printers standard mode is. and if it defaulted in the quiet mode. I don't know why the have the default noisy and the check box quiet mode. Maybe they can change those default in a printer firmware update.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Photo print

The computer prints photos nicely Changed the setting on the computer print display to photo and it gives you Standard and High for print quality as an option. I printed both and didn't see much of a change in quality they looked the same and the quality seemed as I would have expected in a photo print, but thought I would have seen more of a change between standard and high quality. The surprise and I would say a disappointment was when I checked photo paper on the computer and when I clicked print a warning display came up and said there was a paper mismatch between computer and the printer. I had to manually change the type of paper on the printer. Never had to do that with the HP, the computer shared the information and the printer knew the paper type change. Shows the cheaper quality of the Epson printer and was surprised for the 499.00 price tag.

Does this printer print photographs off your computer that you might take with your high DEF camera

Want to know if the printer is "capable of printing a photograph" like we would normally print one off a CD; off of the Computer; from a "HI DEF Camera" ?
