Work, rest and play with this Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone. A 5-inch touchscreen delivers easy responses whether you are browsing online or typing a text, and the AMOLED technology delivers great visuals even when it's bright. A powerful quad-core processor lets you play games, study or use apps on this Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone.

Everything is great, except....

First, this phone has excellent battery life. I can use it all day without having to throw it on the charger. It's Android, so you can find an app for pretty much anything you want to do, and typically for free. The display is brilliant and sharp. The buttons on the phone are positive, and the screen sensitivity is great too. The price is excellent. I paid 170 bucks for mine at my local store. The audio quality is good on calls. The signal strength is good compared to my iPhone which uses the same T-Mobile network.
Where this phone falls super short is the Camera. It's awful. The main (rear) camera takes mediocre photos in the best lighting. The front facing camera just sucks and your Snapchat selfies and group photos during your outings will suffer as a result. If you're not into taking photos, this phone might be perfect for you. If you are, well, I would look at something else... Maybe the Motorola MOTO G? I just can't wrap my head around why Samsung would only go with a 5MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera on this phone. My HTC Evo4G from 2010 had an 8MP rear camera. What's up Samsung?
The other area of concern was the browsing speed due to it's processing power. It doesn't zip through browsing like the competition does, and that's OK, because I didn't buy this phone particularly to browse the web. When I need to, it works. I purchased this phone as a backup to my iPhone 6. I primarily use it for emulating games, and it's good at that. So I'm pleased with it.
My Best Buy number: 4206099042
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is this a GSM or CDMA phone?

This will work with GSM Carriers using your existing SIM card. I use mine on T-Mobile, but per specs listed here, it will also work with: AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Tracfone, Net10, H2O, GoPhone and Simple Mobile.
