Buyer beware: Dig deep in the reviews

When my cheap $20 alarm clock finally bit the dust after 5-6 years, I bought this Sony alarm clock in May 2016. On September 15 2016, it woke me up as usual, but I was unable to turn it off, nor turn the time projection off. I eventually unplugged it. When I plugged it back in, none of the buttons would respond. I tried everything I could think of. Once, in frustration, I banged it on my nightstand and suddenly the buttons started working. But that only lasted a few minutes before the unit froze up again. I did some internet research and found that many people are having similar problems with this clock radio. I had never spent $60 on an alarm clock before, but I liked the features and with the Sony name, I thought I'd be getting a quality product, This is NOT the case. I cannot trust this alarm clock to wake me up in the morning so I guess I'll be looking for a new one.

Possibilities are endless - if u have connection

As others have said, everything depends on your internet connection. But when it works, it's awesome! Didn't realize you had to purchase the Slingplayer app separately for each device @ $14.99/each. Tablet app includes an onscreen replica of your cable remote, so it's very easy to turn on/off, change channels, etc. Mobile app has small, generic remote and took me awhile to figure out how to turn cable box on/off. Have not used it while traveling yet, but looking forward to trying it out. Have read that you can bounce the signal to a TV... haven't figured that out yet. Overall, pretty cool technology!

What's great about it: Watching sports teams, local news while out of town.
What's not so great: Freezes often (connection); mobile app a bit confusing.
I would recommend this to a friend!
