Amazing Sound but pair with a Harmony remote
on February 7, 2015

After doing plenty of research I decided on the JBL SB400 system to replace the underwhelming speakers on my new Samsung UHD TV. Many of the "newer" soundbars only offer optical connections between the soundbar and the television, whereas the JBL SB400 offers both (3) HDMI inputs and (1) HDMI output that supports ARC (plus the optical connection). This is something that is usually only offered in higher priced systems. I have to say the sound for TV watching, steaming movies, and music is amazing. If my review was just based on sound, it would get 5 stars. However, my review is not based only upon the sound of the system - it's also user experience and usability which is where the SB400 falls a bit short. And why I'm only giving this system 4 stars instead of 5. First off, the remote is horrible. You can buy a $150 no name brand system and get a better remote. Come on JBL really?? Second, the system offers Bluetooth music streaming, however there's no button on the remote for it, so you physically have to switch it on the unit itself - so that's a limitation. Also, with the remote being of such poor quality and features, I'd strongly recommend purchasing a Harmony universal remote to control everything - which is what the salesperson at Best Buy recommended and I'm quite happy I did.
I would recommend this to a friend!
