MK530 step backwards

First the mouse scroll function did not work in any progams. My older logictech mouse was better.
The keyboard felt horrible. I thought the keyboard from HP was not good, but now I love it after using this one from logictech. very surprised by how bad it felt as I usually really like logictech products and typically have no problems with them.

Can the keyboard be raised from the back or does it have to set sit flat?
there are 2 little tabs in the back that raises the keyboard. but I would try the keyboard first before buying. For me I felt like the keyboard was horrible touch / feel to it. Kept making typos because of it. I used it for about 1 hour and decided to bring it back because I couldn't stand it (plus the mouse was not fully functional either).

Do the batteries go in the keyboard, the mouse or both?
They go in both (it did come with batteries). But I would not buy this product. See my review
