A completely Average game, worth it at a discount.

If possible I would give this game 2.5 stars, but since I don't think it's worth a full 3 I'll lean more on the negative. No Man's Sky is a very beautiful game, even on the PS4. At launch however I would say this game was a complete scam. Even if you didn't know anything about what was promised to be in the game the PS4 launch was riddle with bugs and the game crashed all the time. Since then a lot of patches have came out and things have improved. The price has dropped as well to 39.99, and the up coming black Friday promises to lower it even further to 24.99. At that kind of reduced price point I would suggest any one interested in open ended space exploration might want to give it a shot. Like others have said it's sort of like minecraft in space, in that you go around randomly generated terrain in the forms of the planets you visit being akin to new biospheres and explore and gather resources. I think one the major things lacking for minecraft fans however is you really can't build anything to leave a lasting mark. You just upgrade yourself and your space ship. You can't build a cool base or anything like that with all the millions of resources you gather. Which long term is what hurts the game, the endless need to harvest common resources to power your shields and life support, refill your hyper drive etc.

It's cheap and it works

So far so good, it only cost me about $6 on sale for the 32gb one and it works great. I can transfer a 1gb file in about a minute as opposed to the 3-5min it would take before on a usb 2.0 stick. I've only had it for about a week so far so I can't say anything about it's durability just yet, which is a known problem with some flash drives.
One point of warning though is the connection feels visibly warm after just a few of the larger transfers, much like if you used a 2.0 over a long period of time. I guess the faster data transfer means more heat and electricity passing threw the stick so I would advise long continuous use, if you want that get an external HD.
And in case your curious USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0 ports, it just doesn't gain any extra speed while using them.

Fun, Funny and Cheap

it's a Lego game so you know it will be fun to play and funny to watch. If your at all familiar wit the recent Hobbit movies it's always fun to find out just how badly Lego can poke fun at the source material. I wouldn't say this was the best Lego game ever. For one reason or another I have always been partial to the original classic Star Wars games. That said it's a good game and like most Lego games it's pretty cheap. Even at release Lego games tend to be 39.99 instead for higher, but once the next game comes out you get brand new copies of gems like this for a mere 19.99 or less if on sale.

An okay game if you know what your getting into.

I researched this game pretty heavily before buying due to the confliction reviews surrounding it. I love RPGS in general and Dragon Quest games in particular. In fact the original Dragon Warrior game on the NES was one of the first console RPGS I ever played. Despite going back to the Japanese title of Dragon Quest a few games ago this one is nothing like the original.
It's a limited action hack and slash game at the base, not unlike many games like Dynasty warriors to be honest. There are RPG elements thrown in, and a large cast of familiar characters however to appease DQ fans. I knew what I was getting into and I enjoyed this game. It's not your classic DQ game, but that doesn't mean it's not fun. Just like every game with the Mario title isn't about a side scrolling plat former, not all DQ games have to be a RPG either.
I will say DQ 8 was one of my favorite games from the series and I hope more traditional games come out for the series but if you can get this on sale or reduced price it's not a bad deal.

Great little bit of history if you can get it cheap. If you never played FFX I highly recommend the game just for that reason, but if you have both games there isn't a lot new added. I personally bought the regular edition on sale recently but now it's no longer for sale I decided to review the limited edition one sense the only real difference was a free desktop calendar far I can tell.
FFX was an awesome game ,ground breaking at the time. Great cast of characters, interesting plot and good (for the time) visuals. Some bits were all over the place, things like the voice acting had great people like Auron, and weak ones like Yuna. The game is rather dated however and the HD re-master didn't really do to much to improve the graphics of the game.
Even at the time of release I kind of felt X-2 was a bit of a disappointment in many ways but it was a continuation of a cast of characters and a world that I loved in FFX so I played that as well way back when. It wasn't a horrible game, being a fan of FFT and the old FF5 I got into the job system like dress sphere stuff pretty decently in X-2.
The only real bonus I can see of the HD edition if you already played the game is the inclusion of the contentment previously exclusive to the International edition of the game. That said it's not a bad port but nothing to compare with previous FF complications that hit the original PlayStation system.

What's there to say other than it's the licensed controller for the system and you know it will work. It's pretty sturdy and responds well to being used. As a long time PS2 and 3 owner I will say some of the changes are a bit annoying to the dual shock layout. The new sticks are far more responsive, but they also feel kind of small and I dislike the concave tops they have instead of the rounded mushroom top from before. My biggest gripe however is probably that blue light in the front that's supposed to interact with the systems camera in a pseudo PlayStation move like way.
My system never came with a camera, and frankly I don't plan on getting one after how little I used the Move I got as a gift on the PS3. The light helps drain the controllers battery faster for something that almost none of the games really support far as I know. Other than that little nit pick the controller works well and is a pretty faithful continuation of the PlayStation styled controller layout that has worked well for the last few decades.

If your into turn based strategy games Wasteland 2 should appeal to you. I actually played the original game way back when and I have to say I was amazed that a sequel came out decades later. That said the game is not perfect but at the reduced price of 29.99, or even the 19.99 I paid for it on sale I would say the game is well worth the money. It's a great single player game that can take a long time to complete, a rare thing these days. Far to many games can easily be beaten in 4hrs or less lately.
To most casual gamers I would say Wasteland 2 would be a solid 3 or 4 star game, but I gave it a full 5 because I am highly biased being a fan of the original series and post Apocalyptic games in general. If the game was a full 59.99 I would have more reservations, but for such a reduced price it's a good buy.

Great little bundle for a new PS4 owner
on December 18, 2015
Posted by: LumtheMad

This bundle is pretty great for new owner. I got this during the black Friday deal that lowered it to a mere $299 and I was pretty happy with my choice. I thought about the Star Wars Battlefront edition but it was not on sale at the time and even though all PS4 bundles are now $50 off right before Christmas I'm still pretty happy with my choice. The Uncharted bundle is pretty great choice if you missed the series before.
There have been some tweaks and graphical upgrades to the games, but nothing overly amazing if you have already played the series. Overall it came across to me something like a male version of Tomb raider so far. One of the good things about this bundle however is you get a physical copy of the games inside the box, and not just some code to download it. Imo this works well for new PS4 owners because you get 3 good single player games to hold you over no matter what. If you had gotten a mostly online game like Battlefront you would need a good internet connection to even play competitively and in a few months the player base for the game might die out like a lot of online games these days.
Not a lot of negative things to really say about the system so far. I've had it about a month and nothing has gone wrong. I will say there is room for improvement in the size of the hard drive and I hope the 1tb edition of the system comes down in price and is offered either without a game or with other choices because of how large most games are these days. Most things you install onto your system will be taking up 5-10gb minimum of space, even if you have a physical disc and it just installs updates and patches to the game.
Fully downloaded games bought off the PSN might take 5 times that amount of space. Which to me really kills that idea of digital downloaded games, unless you like spending a lot of time deleting and re-down loading stuff.

Great game with more game than ever

Verified Purchase:Yes
First off Dragon's Dogma was an amazing game when it first came out. The world was pretty big, the quest diverse and the Pawn system a bit amazing. Most people though were just impressed with how epic the fights in the game could feel when you dealt with any 'boss like' enemies. Climbing up on the back of enemies was always amazing in a game, but doing so on the back of a Wyvern that starts to fly around, epic.
Dark Arisen is an expansion to that. The new content includes a bunch of new gear, a moderate plot and a new dungeon to do it all in. You could potentially beat the dungeon within a few days, depending on the level of your gear when you stopped playing the original, but truly mastering all the new gear, skills, etc takes a bit of time. Which is another great aspect, if you still have your save file from the original game it will carry over into Dark Arisen.
The main good/bad aspect of Dark Arisen however is that the entire game is included, the original and the expansion. This meant at first the game was rather expensive to people who played the original game, 39.99 at full price. There was no way to buy just the expansion. Now that the price has dropped a bit, and I got this on sale for 24.99 new it's not as bad. The good news about this move is you can now enjoy the entire game plus the expansion for a fraction of the price of the original.
The weakest part of the game to me was the story line however. The main plot is pretty weak once you get out of the first few area's. Your own character is a bit wooden and lacks any real personality. The idea isn't bad, and some plot twist will amaze you at first but over all it's very easy to loose interest in the main plot about mid game. As much as the main plot fails though the side quest are amazing in this game and lead to potential romantic relationships, friendships and other benefits which can slightly change how the game proceeds. If you choose to save or kill some shop keeper, he will be alive or dead for the rest of the game based on your actions. Luckily if you mess up TOO much on something like that you can improve things with the New Game+ feature.

Great Slow Cooker for a fair price

I managed to get this Crock pot on sale this last thanksgiving so it was a great value for money. At half the normal price I have no complaints on that score. The size is a bit off putting at first, I thought my old crock pot was only a 4 quart model but it must have been at least a 5 quart because some of my old recipes don't fit into this model when I make a double batch any more.
Over all it's a great piece of work so far and heats up much faster than some of the previous brands I have used over the years. The main flaw in my opinion though is that lid locking ability this pot has. Your not supposed to use it while cooking for obvious reasons, but it is a potential flaw in the product in the long term. The rubber liner will most likely break up over time and wear out far faster than any other part of the crock pot.
At the time though I couldn't pass up a name brand slow cooker for a mere 20 bucks.

A Big Disapointment!!!!!!!!
By matoftkin from Memphis, TN
This was a very bad experience for me. When you decide to bite the bullet and spend a real money on a Gamer's machine only to have it smoke it self after being operational for a minute or so, it is a bad experience. I took it to the geek squad and they said they were not allowed to put a new power supply in the computer, and I thought they were sending it back to the company that built it. But when it returned still DOA, I found out that Best Buy had sent it to thier depot who either could not, or would not repair it. So instead of getting a maxed out Gamers pc with a 200.00 discount, I bought a lesser pc for the more money minus a $50.00 discount. Overall, this left a bad taste in my mouth. Funny thing is, I would not have written this review except Best Buy sent me an email asking for this review. Makes you wonder.

Never try and get it fixed
May 7, 2013
So far in my experience if your having trouble with a computer now, just send it back. Most stores only have a 14-15 day return policy with computer equipment and if you don't return it ASAP you'll be stuck with it. Best buy has a pretty good return policy and more often than not if you really want the computer your better off returnng it and buying the product again. The standard run around you get when trying to get a defective product fixed is only going to make you miss your final return date.

When I try to preorder the digital download, it doesn't give me my gamer's club discount. Do I have to wait until it releases tonight at midnight?

While I'm not sure how digital downloads might affect the problem I have noticed you must be logged into bestbuy.com before adding an item to your cart. Other wise it doesn't seem to count the gamers club discount, even if you log in afterwards. Usually all you have to do is remove the product and then go back to the item to add it to your cart again. I've noticed this issue a few times in the past and I hope it fixes the problem you have.
