Get great performance with the Canon EOS 80D lens kit. It combines a 24.2-megapixel sensor with an 18-135mm lens to get you closer to the action than ever before, and image stabilization reduces the effects of hand shake. Enjoy ultra-precise focusing and high-definition video for maximum versatility from this Canon EOS 80D lens kit. .

Best All-Around Camera...Period
on November 18, 2016

There has been much said on this camera and on this series. I will add my brief thoughts:
To begin with this camera is sharp. Don't believe all of the critics out there. It is not as CRISP as some cameras but it is quite sharp. Lenses make a lot of differences, so whatever you do, do not skimp on your lens. If you don't this camera will take advantage of what you attach to it and deliver fantastic results.
My first outing was in Colorado on a nature hike/shoot. I was shooting with the standard lens that came with this bundle (24-135mm USM) and I found it to be more than capable of capturing exactly what I wanted in a walkabout lens. It was clean and easy to use. For the first few days I kept it in automatic and got fantastic picture and video results.
Within a few days I was ready to go manual and again this camera did not disappoint. I did a little research online and found some great videos and suggestions on setup which made it quick and easy for me to get along with manual mode even though I am merely an enthusiast. Again the pictures turned out great and sharp.
My next step was to take pictures at a wedding. Again I am no pro, but my results made me feel confident in my abilities and I credit great advice online and a great camera with the 80D. Even though the reception was much lower light, and I loathed the idea of using the built in flash, I got some great results. My latest venture was to shoot the super moon and again with some great advice, and this fantastic camera, I got results that I could never get from a point and shoot or a phone.
For professionals, you already know what you want and will buy it. For enthusiasts or even beginners this can be a great step in the direction of professional photography.
I opted this over the Sony A6300, even though the video is not 4K. The video performance is fantastic for my usage and I am planning on making a Sony purchase (the A6500) in the next month. But this camera is really spot on for daily usage all around.
I had to lower the resolution of the attached photos to be able to upload them.
My Best Buy number: 0325607984
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Camera Two Lens Kit with 16-50mm and 55-210mm Lenses: With its 24.3-megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor and interchangeable lenses, this mirrorless camera allows you to capture sharp, realistic pictures for yourself or your clients. If you want to share stored photos, simply connect wireless devices to the camera's built-in Wi-Fi. .

Is it good for birding?

Yes this camera is quite crisp, especially with the longer focal length lens. For real birding you may want to opt for a larger tele lens.

Is the 80D able to take good photos in low light like the 5d mark III? Thanks

I would say ANY camera struggles in low light. The 80D does a remarkable job in low light. It really depends on the lens. Nikon appears to handle higher ISOs better but I can get great low light shots at 1600-3200 using the kit lens.

Will the 80D's 45 pt focus array work in the Sports Mode or is it just single pt?

My old T3i only had a single focus point when using the Sports mode; hopefully the 80D uses its full 45 point focus array in Sports mode... True or False... Thanx, Mark
I think I am right in saying it uses the full mode unless you specifically change it to single point or area point focus.

How much does this camera weigh? Best Buys specifications page lists this as weighing "25.8 pounds"

Um, no it does not weigh 25lbs. Maybe a few pounds total with the box and packaging.
