Nice upgrade over a HDD. It's not a top of the line SSD but it does what it's supposed to do, speed up access times. If you don't store a ton of stuff on your computer, then 120Gb is more than enough.

First off, I tried to upgrade the RAM on this machine twice. Both times I got error messages saying that it was "Starting Automatic Repair" then "Diagnosing Your Computer". The first time I did it I thought maybe I had messed up and uninstalled a vital program to the OS. The second time though, I didn't uninstall anything, so it's a problem with the machine, not me.
Second, this machine comes with Superfish installed on it. What is Superfish? ~~> SuperFish is a piece of software that is Pre-installed on some Lenovo computers. This software can break the HTTPS encryption used when the web browser on your computer communicates with websites that use the HTTPS protocol to protect sensitive information.
Superfish can be uninstalled manually, but if you don't know it's on your machine, or don't know how to uninstall it, you could run into problems.
I like Lenovo machines, but this one seems to have some issues. Stay away from it if you want to upgrade the RAM or possibly replace the hard drive. Who knows what issues you might run into there.

This is a great laptop for those on a budget. For $300.00 you really can't go wrong. It's not for gaming or anything that's super intensive like video editing, but if all you need is an everyday computer, this is the one to get.
It only comes with 4gb of RAM, but is upgradeable. I'm not sure how much you can add, but I put in an 8gb RAM module and it works with that.
To boost your speed a bit more, install a SSD drive. I recommend a Samsung 850 Pro or 850 Evo. If you don't have a ton of stuff that you store on your computer, then 128 Gb SSD should be plenty. If you need more storage, they make them in larger sizes.
Anyone looking for a decent laptop for their kids or grand-kids to start out on should definitely consider this one. I purchased two other laptops that were more expensive than this one and I'm happier with it than I was with the other ones.
Buy two, they're cheap! :)

Good performer so far. The i3 processor hadles basic tasks with ease. It's not for a gamer, but as a general purpose laptop it's a good choice for those on a budget.
The only complaint I have is the back is very difficult to remove if you want to add RAM or replace the HDD with a SSD. That's why it got 4 stars instead of 5.

A very nice laptop for under $400.00. Win* 8.1 takes some getting used to, but hopefully the free upgrade to Win 10 will be released soon and make things easier. Has a lot of bloatware that could be left off. The i3 processor satisfactory for my use. I'm not a gamer so I don't need super fast processing or a ton of Ram. I'd definitely recommend this for a general purpose laptop.

Perfect entry to mid-level TV. Nice crisp, clear picture. Easy to set up right out of the box. Only issues some may find is the lack of more HDMI inputs and ARC. It only has two HDMI ports which, if you have a cable box, a Blu-ray player & a game console, you'll have to purchase a multi HDMI box or a receiver with a HDMI out port.
The lack of ARC isn't a big deal really. Most Entry/Mid-level TV's don't have it, but if you want to run your audio through a receiver it would be a nice option instead of having to purchase a digital optical cable.
Set up was easy to do. Plug it in, turn it on and the first thing it does is take you through setting up channels and WiFi.
I can't attest to the sound quality because I have the speakers turned off and just use my receiver for sound.
The apps seem to work well, at least Hulu and Netflix do. I haven't tried any of the others.
All in all, if you're looking for a 32" TV for a bedroom or small living room this TV is a great choice.

Great speaker for the price

For an entry level speaker I think these are among the best out there. Even at high volume levels they sound great. I'm using them as the front and rear speakers for a surround system combined with a Pioneer SP-C22 center speaker and Polk PSW-10 sub all powered by a Pioneer VSX-524-K amplifier. You really can't beat these for the price.

What's great about it: Ease of use, good price for a smartphone

I live in a very small house and the 40" model fits very nicely on the corner TV stand. The 26" pedistal stand makes it ver easy to install a soundbar, which is required due to the internal speakers creating excessive vibrations during periods of low base. The biggest drawback of this TV is the nonfunctional user interface that should have never left the factory. Samsung QA is sleeping behind the wheel. The interface is so slow a child's VTech out performs it. The factory installed YouTube app refuses to connect and simply errors out that the channels cannot be loaded.
It is NOT the customer's responsibility to upload new firmware that should be fully functional when the device left the factory. You get an F for quality control, performance and customer service. Every preloaded app should fully function when the TV is taken out of the box. There is no acceptable excuse for this.

Unfortunately, Samsung, nor any other TV manufacturer, has control over when a company like Netflix or Hulu update their apps. They could come out with a new version every other day if they so choose.
I would agree with you if it was a hardware issue with the TV, but not a firmware issue. Blame the respective companies for that, not Samsung.

Love the TV, however when I tried to get Netflix on the TV it did not allow me to do so and when I finally called Samsung they told me that the software was not up to date and had to be upgraded. This was not an easy process and I can only wonder why a brand new TV had obsolete software.

It had obsolete software because the TV was manufactured before Netflix updated it's software. The version that was preloaded was now obsolete and needed updating.

There are no clear instructions for those who have never owned or operated a tablet before. Consequently I don't use my tablet much as I am very confused and exasperated by it. I have noticed that it is difficult to transfer photos taken by a tablet to either a flash drive, as there are no ports, or to a lap top.

You should be able to easily transfer photos from your tablet to your laptop by using the USB cord provided. It's not just for charging.

Is this tablet ready to connect to my contracted mifi hot spot?
Yes. Just locate your hotspot SSID and put in the password. It connects like any other WiFi product

Yes it works with Clear, but Clear will be discontinuing service by November 6th, 2015. Sprint bought Clear and decided it wasn't cost effective so they are shutting it down.

Wifi
Does this laptop have both 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi or only 2.4ghz? The description says it has wireless N but does not specify if it can do both standards of wireless N.
As far as I can tell it only has 2.4Ghz. I can't find the 5Ghz listed when I search for WiFi on it but I can on my phone.

How to replace the hard drive with an SSD?
Asus answered that the hard drive was end user replaceable on another site when I was looking at laptops--wound up buying this at BB, not seeing anything useful besides the RAM slot underneath, very little info on Asus site. Are there directions to replace the hard drive? Thanks
The hard drive can be replaced, but it's like performing surgery. You have to carefully remove the back cover by prying it open, then disconnect a few cables before fully removing it. Once you do that you have access to the HD. Your best bet is to let a professional do it. If they break something they have to replace it.

Yes it's compatible with SATA III. It's not easy to replace the HDD though. I'm not sure what motherboard it has.

Does this Laptop has mSATA port?
I want to improve the system with a mSATA SSD when i buy this, but is it possible?
Not without major surgery. The only easy access you have is to the memory slots. To get into the inner workings you have to pry the back off. I'd recommend having it done professionally. If the back cover breaks then they have to replace it.

Lenovo says it's upgradeable to 16gb of RAM. However, if read my review of this machine, it seems to have issues recognizing new RAM.

what is the Intel equivalent of the amd a8 (example 4th generation i3?)? also is it a quad core?
The A8 is equivalent to a 4th gen i3. The A8 gets a score of 6.3 on CPU Boss, while the i3 gets a 6.4. You won't really notice the difference unless you use benchmarking programs.
