Phone does not meet manufacturer's specifications
on November 1, 2016

Owned phone for: 2 Days
I purchased this phone to replace an older LG that I had for a few years. I thought Android 6 Marshmallow would be an improvement over the version 4.4 KitKat that my LG had. Surprisingly, even though this phone has a quad core processor, installing apps from the Google Play store takes about the same amount of time or longer compared to my LG that has only a dual core CPU.
The screen is not fingerprint resistant and attracts fingerprints like crazy. With my LG, I could literally wipe the screen with my finger to remove fingerprints. With this phone, attempting to wipe away fingerprints just smudges the screen even more. Not sure why that is but you might need to get a screen protector for this phone if you want to minimize fingerprints.
The screen is also very bright and sharp but oranges are way over saturated. Luckily this can be compensated for by changing the screen mode to Basic in Settings which lowers the color saturation. not a big deal but the bright orange can be hard to read against a white background.
The camera is really good on this phone and the LED is super bright.
The back-plate snaps off easily and a micro SD card can be quickly inserted. No removal of the battery is necessary.
But my complaint is that this phone does not live up to the specifications it is advertised for.
Various sources indicate that the phone has 1.5Gb of RAM. https://droidchart.com/samsung/samsung-galaxy-luna-luna-1970 and https://www.hsn.com/products/samsung-galaxy-luna-45-super-amoled-tracfone-bundle/8242524
However...this phone is only equipped with 879.45Mb of ram. This was verified with CCleaner, CPU-Z, and Antutu benchmark. 878Mb might be enough but if you're hoping for the 1.5Gb of RAM as advertised, you're out of luck.
The phone appears to have 8Gb of storage split up between system storage and internal storage. If you need more space for your apps you can just put a micro SD card in the phone and use an app called AppMgr or App 2 SD to transfer apps to the SD card to free up internal memory.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Decent image quality, slow response rate
on January 12, 2016

I purchased this TV as an open-box item and it was defective. The television made a buzzing/humming sound when the back light was set to anything below 100%. This a known issue with this television. I promptly took it back to the store the next day and they replaced it with a new one for the same price. The second set works great but image quality is not that great.
Backlight quality:
The backlight levels are acceptable, just don't expect deep blacks. The blacks can be improved by tweaking the image setting a little.
Image uniformity:
Overall the image is uniform with just a very slightly noticeable vignetting near the edges probably caused by the diffusers. This is an edge-light TV and so therefore it is not going to be as evenly lit as a full array television.
Contrast ratio:
Contrast is very good on this TV even though the blacks are not deep, whites are vivid and color accuracy is very good as well. I keep the TV set on "movie mode" most of the time which lowers the contrast and gives it a movie screen feel, the way a movie looks in a theater.
Performance:
This TV turns on relatively quickly. After a brief "DTS TrueConnect" logo appears, the TV is ready to go. The TV takes about 8-9 seconds to turn on.
Response rate:
This TV has a moderate amount ghosting. I knew this was only a 60Hz TV when I purchased it but even still, the response rate (From white to black) could be better, which has little to do with the refresh rate.
Features:
The optical output works perfectly. I have the TV connected to my surround sound receiver and the TV is able to pass Dolby Digital from both the Antenna/Cable and through the HDMI input which is rare. Some TVs only pass surround sound through the optical output when watching cable. This makes using a streaming DVD player so much easier. Instead of having to switch audio inputs on the receiver, you can leave it on one optical audio setting, and when switching from watching cable to a blue-ray disk, the TV will output the surround sound through the optical output.
Setup:
This TV comes with no full page instruction manual but the TV is pretty intuitive to setup if you are technically savvy enough. The menu tells you to refer to the downloadable instruction manual from Toshiba's website, but this probably keeps the cost of the unit down by not including the manual.
Final thoughts:
This is a good TV if you don't need a smart TV. You can expect it to have a slightly higher quality than the lower end name brands. I would have given it 4 stars if the first unit was not defective and maybe 5 stars if the response rate was better.

Klipsch quality sound you can believe in
on March 29, 2013

These speakers exhume a sophisticated image without the high price. I was lucky enough to pick up a pair of these when they were dirt cheap for $98, which is an unheard of price for a pair of Klipsch speakers.
The craftsmanship of these speakers is really quite good. They look just as good with the covers on as they do without. In fact I couldn't decide!
These may be the low-end of Klipsch's bookshelf lineup, but the fact is that Klipsch's "low end" speakers rival that of some other speaker maker's mid-range offerings.
I find the highs to be extremely crisp with virtually NO sibilance at all! What this means is that there is no annoying distortion on the "SSSSS" sounds in singer's vocals. I compared these to the Polk TSi speakers that retail for slightly less than the Klipsch speakers, and to my ears the Polks had a slight sibilance in the highs. they just aren't as accurate and precise as the Klipsch's aluminum dome tweeters.
These speakers have been described as being having a foreward and revealing sound. The vocals blend seamlessly with the rest of the music with no drop or peaks, and create a precise and sharp phantom center image. The sweet spot if very wide thanks to the horn. Again, I compared these to the Polks and let me tell you, dome tweeters alone don't have as wide of a sweet spot. If you move around a lot or are watching movies with your family, you will appreciate the wide sound stage that horns offer. (There is a reason why movie theaters use Klipsch speakers .... sensitivity--and of course those wide dispersion horns!)
The bass is just right: not too boomy, with well defined lows, despite being ported. I was surprised that a 5.25" speakers could produce so much bass. The speaker cabinet's size and depth comes into play here; they are quite deep, and having a rear port, they need to be placed a few inches from the wall. that means they might stick out a bit into the listening area.
What's great about it: Excellent highs and lows, sharp vocals
What's not so great: Not very forgiving with low quality audio sources
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this TV pass 5.1 signal trough ARC?

Yes it does. When my blu-ray player is connected to any of the HDMI inputs, it is able to pass a dolby digital signal to the receiver through the optical output on the TV.
