Excellent Small camera

Have been debating this with Gopro Hero5. I am not using it for a lot of sports event, just want to have a good camera taking videos of kid and family for day to day life and trip.
If I took Gopro hero5, the karma grip seems like a must-have. But that would add another $230 at least. So after I tried sony x3000, I just decide to take this.
Maybe it is not good enough as Hero5+gimbal, but the footage is smooth enough with OIS for day to day usage. And you get something in your pocket which you could use it right away rather than holding the gimbal. Also, the sony x3000 provide decent results without editing which is also a win for me.

Good controller with one drawback

A little pricy as to a controller. But as people pay a lot for mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse, why not for a good controller. This one feels solid in hand with right weight and texture. The paddle at back are versatile for some game while you need to customized experience.
The only complain is about the macro option, which lacks in this controller. If added, the controller will be perfect in my opinion.

Purchased this for a trip to Cabo to catch the beautiful scenery. This camera performed excellently. Great image quality and the image stabilization worked great when filming as I rode wild cat atv's thru the desert and along the coastline. The 4k Video produced looks amazing.

Seems like a better option than gopro hero5. How do you feel it when hand held? Still need a gimbal or the stabilization is already good enough to be gimbal free?

Another fatally flawed product from GoPro. Can't understand how the engineers there keep getting things so wrong lately considering where they started. The execution is ALMOST great. The gimbal does what its supposed to. You get inedibly stable footage and the camera controls are right on the handle. Just one problem, It took over 10 hours to charge from dead. 10 hours for less than 2 hours of usage?!?!?! How exactly are you supposed to use this thing away from a socket? Of course GoPro has another "super fast" charging solution you can purchase at and additional cost. I'm still keeping it because there isn't anything else out there that works as well with the Hero 5 Black. I'm guessing GoPro wont be around much longer so this may be my last purchase from them even though I love their cameras.

Try sony next time

Maybe it worth trying to use sony with optical stabilization next time. The karma grip is not bad but the versatility is really limited. I tried to use Feiyu SPG to hold my hero5, and it works, though it's not perfect. But with Feiyu gimble, you could also use your phone on it and the most important thing: it has joystick to control the direction.
