The Best Just Got Better
on July 19, 2016

Excellent build quality, camera, battery life, display, performance, ergonomics. Also waterproof and SD card support to boot! Simply the best smartphone money can buy. I have zero complaints and zero regrets on my purchase.
Now with the US factory unlocked version available for the same price as the carrier locked versions, you can truly select your device without being tied to any carrier. Popped my Sprint SIM in and activated it and I was up and running within a few minutes. I haven't tried it on any other carriers yet, but it works great on Sprint so far.
My Best Buy number: 1055070574
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone if it works with your carrier
By Fire4ice
Despite what the description says, the phone does not necessarily work with all carriers. We use Ting as our service provider. They use the Sprint network. For some reason, the phone would not connect to the network correctly. We went through 2 SIM cards and neither of them worked. The phone kept cycling on and off. It works fine with a GSM card, but I did not want to be on the T-Mobile network (which is also supported by Ting). My husband says that perhaps connecting to the Sprint network through a 3rd party is problematic and that later on they will fix this problem for this phone. It is very new and probably not all carriers are updated yet. Other than this problem, I love the phone. The camera works great and it is fast and very responsive. We will replace this unlocked phone with another Samsung Galaxy S7 that is dedicated to the Sprint network instead.

no Verizon Wi-Fi calling
By denise
Does not support Verizon wi-fi calling since it is unlocked. And while I am on Verizon, worth a note that this does not have band 17 needed for AT&T.

Wifi Calling
August 1, 2016
I can't speak to Verizon, but I can confirm wifi calling works fine on Sprint and T-Mobile out of the box. Android 6.0 supports wifi calling at the OS level so it does not need to be a carrier branded device to allow for wifi calling.
Also, band 17 is a subset of band 12 so since this device supports band 12, band 17 is also covered.

Great Phone but unuseable on Virgin Mobile
By KJACY
I was told by the Samsung rep, the Mobile phone rep and the Virgin Mobile/Sprint rep that the GSM phone would work on the Virgin Mobile system only to find out that after buying the phone in Boynton and driving up to West Palm Beach to pick it up that none of them were correct. Virgin Mobile would not activate the phone. When I went back to the store with it they still tried to get me to keep the phone by going over to the Sprint Store( "hey it's the same network, what's the difference") all in an attempt to support their Sprint Promotion when I made it perfectly clear to them that I was perfectly happy with the arrangement that I had with Virgin Mobile. What a waste of my time. I ended up buying the phone through Virgin Mobile.

GSM?
August 17, 2016
Are you sure this is the exact model you bought and had problems with? There are two unlocked s7 models. This is the 930U which is CDMA and GSM unlocked and should have worked with Virgin. If you bought the 930F, that is the GSM unlocked version which would not work with Sprint / Virgin.

Not Best Buy's fault
By DeAFos
I bought the Samsung Galaxy S7, unlocked, universal. Meaning any carrier would work on it. Two formats acceptable. But guess what! No carriers I tried would accept it. They all want YOU over the barrel; not themselves. So.... I had to return the phone. What use is a phone no one will "carry." That's America for you!

Which carriers?
August 27, 2016
I have personally activated and used mine on Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile with no hassles or hurdles whatsoever. I can't speak for MVNO carriers though. I'm interested to hear which carriers would not activate it for you.

Great, but not great for AT&T customers
By msteacherlady
I purchased this unlocked phone with the intention of switching from AT&T to Verizon in the next couple months. Overall, the unlocked phone is just as good (and by that I mean ridiculously overpriced) deal as the Next plan. Either way, you're paying the $650+ for the phone, this way, it's all yours immediately. Also, there is a $99 warranty that totally replaces the phone for any reason- which you don't get with the plans anymore without a $200+ deductible.
Overall, this phone is great. The features work well, it runs quickly, and the camera quality is amazing. It truly beats any iPhone in camera quality by a long shot, particularly in low light.
However, being on an AT&T plan, my mobile data was not automatically connected. After sitting at a Best Buy for 2 hours, the employee, who had been on the phone with AT&T for 45 minutes, was able to only get my phone to connect with "e", "h", and "h+" data service- NO 3g or 4g. It seems to be just as fast, but not as 'good'? and a huge hassle to figure out with the unlocked phone. I've heard it's easier and better overall quality once put on Verizon. I'll just have to wait and see.

Activated seamlessly on my AT&T account
October 25, 2016
Sounds like you got a bad device or a bad ATT/Best Buy employee. Took about 5 minutes to activate to my AT&T account with no issues connecting to 4G whatsoever. I was actually surprised how easy the activation was. Insert SIM, allow phone to recognize new SIM, reboot and automatically update settings for the new SIM, enjoy.

Is that this phone come with Wi-Fi calling?

WiFi calling works for T-Mobile and Sprint. Does not work for AT&T. I have activated this phone on all three carriers but I haven't tried it on any other carriers.

I understand this phone "works" on T Mobile, BUT, does it provide full access to special T Mobile features such as wifi calling or VoltE calling? Or do I have to purchase the TMobile specific version of the Galaxy S7 to use those features?

I can confirm VoLTE and WiFi calling both work fine on T-Mobile out of the box without any issues. Wifi calling works fine on Sprint. AT&T is another story. No WiFi calling or "enhanced LTE services" at this time. Hopefully an update will enable those features in the future.
