AustinTx's Reviews

The Samsung 2.1 cu-ft over-the-range microwave features precise touch controls located at the bottom of the glass window, lending easy accessibility and a seamless modern look to your kitchen. The scratch-resistant ceramic enamel interior takes some of the elbow grease out of cleanup, so you can effortlessly wipe up accidental spills and spatters. Use the preset sensor cook options to thoroughly cook or reheat your favorite foods with the press of a button, resulting in meals prepared at just the right temperature.

M/W stopped working the day after warranty expired

RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Last year I replaced all of my appliances with Samsung but rest assured my next house won't have a single Samsung component in it. A $500 microwave ought to last longer than 365 days of occasional use. The push buttons on the glass are hard to get to respond. Ok, learning curve. 3 weeks ago it lost all power/no display, lights/fan did not work. Completely dead. Confirmed outlet had power. Plugged the unit back in and thought, ok that didn't last long. 10 minutes later it mysteriously came back alive and we used until it went out again and never came back on.
Samsung Support is a joke. You call in and sit on hold for almost an hour. Then you argue with them over who's going to pay for it, then they finally agree to cover it under a "one-time courtesty repair" (meaning that after its fixed if the same thing happens two weeks from now, I'm screwed). Set a tentative repair date for this coming Thurs (today). But that someone would call and confirm. Next day Samsung calls and confirm for Thursday. Sit here all day on Thursday and no one comes or calls. At 4pm I called Samsung and start back all over again on the phone prompts (they should have a way to check ticket status online or by phone so you're not wasting 20 minutes). Finally talk to an operator that says my ticket was cancelled because the repair center could not contact the customer (me). I said I have been here all day with my phone and no one has called. They confirm they had my correct number, and they give me the number to the local repair center. When I call them they say they don't have the ticket scheduled because the ticket is locked and they can't assign it. The nice lady says she'll call Samsung to get it straightened out, but that they are booked until next week.
I actually bought the Samsung refrigerator the year before and the ice maker quit working six months after I bought it. I don't use it that often, so I never called to have it repaired.
Last year when replacing the rest of the appliances, I had to take the dishwasher back. Wouldn't work. The replacement powered up but did a horrible job cleaning dishes. Took that back. The guy at the store said out of all of the appliances they sell, Samsung's are returned more than any other brand. My GE appliances were 10 years old and never had a service issue with them.
Fortunately I won't have these much longer because I'm selling my house.
My Best Buy number: 2855858331
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

But wait, there's more...

Posted this way too soon. Here we are over 30 days later and m/w is still not working. The local service repair (Samsung contractor) has been out twice and after replacing circuit boards and the computer, finally gave up and sent a request to Samsung engineering. After over a week waiting on Samsung I finally had to file a Better Business Bureau complaint. That got their attention, although they aren't too anxious to do the right thing. After several emails and 4 phone calls with the "office of the President" (rolls eyes, because I'm smart enough to know I'm dealing with a subcontractor call center), they offer to "exchange" the unit. But exchange the unit meant I needed to uninstall the non-working m/w and haul it back to Best Buy and they'll give me a new one (which I then get to haul home and install myself). Seems to me that if you are unable to repair a broken microwave that's under warranty you should have a service tech bring out a new unit and install it. This has been the most horrible customer service I've ever encountered in my 55 years of living. Never, ever again will I ever buy a Samsung product (and just based on the horrible customer service, that includes not just appliances but TVs, phones, tablets, and anything else that has Samsung's name on it).
