I'm Happy

I ordered two of these from Best Buy. I set up the first one last night and had no issues. I have been reading many folks on other sites saying that the mic sounds awful but I did not experience this issue during party chat with my friends.
I upgraded the headset and transmitter via PC and the Turtle Beach Audio Hub straight out of the box. I then turned on my Xbox and signed into my profile. I then followed the instructions given for how to set up the audio output. After that I connected the transmitter and turned on the headset. Everything worked with no issues.
I proceeded to join a party chat with two of my friends and asked them how I sounded. I was told I sounded clear and audible. You will never be as loud as someone with a boom mic placed directly in front of their mouth but I was loud enough and clear enough to play some Titanfall with them and communicate at the same time.
I think it is also important for people to understand that you can not have active noise cancellation and mic monitoring on at the same time with this headset. Out of the box active noise cancellation is turned on so mic monitoring is not working. You must turn off active noise cancellation and then turn on mic monitoring if you wish to hear yourself speaking through the headphones. The mic monitoring feature of this headset does tend to sound a bit strange if you turn it up very high (kind of robotic) but my friends said that my actual voice sounded normal.
Lastly, please make sure your mic preset is set on quiet room. On any setting other than quiet room I was told that I sounded very far away. Each setting seemed to add a further amount of distance to my voice until I hit the Outside setting at which point my friends said that I sounded like I was talking through my Kinect. My point is (at least in my usage so far) that the mic is audible and clear... Just a bit lower in volume than someone with a boom mic placed directly in front of their mouth (which should honestly be expected with any hidden microphone).
Everything from build quality to in game sound has been top notch through about 5 hours of usage as well.
I hope this helps some folks out when trying to find the best possible settings for the microphone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

UPDATE
May 28, 2015
I set up the 2nd set last night in my bedroom. The 2nd one behaved the same as the 1st. I (so far) have not experienced the horrible microphone issue others have mentioned.
I have done both party chat as well as in game chat while playing Titanfall and Battlefield Hardline. Both ways I was loud enough to be heard by multiple people and sounded clear.
Again, the mic is not as loud as a boom mic in front your mouth but in my experience it is loud enough to communicate and not muffled at all.
I will update again if anything changes but up until this point I have had no issues and the in game sound from the headset sounds fantastic.

Boom mic NOT needed
By Cornelius
At first I was skeptical about the headset not having a boom mic but I was willing to give these a try. Out of the box the Mic preset is set to loud room, initially there was a comment made that I sounded "far away", I set the Mic preset to "Quiet Room" and turned the volume off on the surround sound and they then said they could hear me perfectly through the hidden dual Mics. They even said that other people should stop shouting through their Mics so they could turn their volume up instead of low because most gamers shout into the Mic when it's <1" from their mouth. Until people quit shouting into their Mics to be heard forcing gamers to lower their headset volume your friends may not hear you as loud as other people who shout.
I did hook up the headset and the transmitter to my PC for an update but there wasn't one for either so I don't know where the other reviewer got the update from but there was NOT one available from TurtleBeach out of the box.
My only negative is the "voice" when changing presets is too loud.

TB Updates
May 30, 2015
You are the first person that I have heard of to date that did not need an update to the headset. That's pretty interesting. I suppose either your headset was updated before being packaged or maybe TB pulled the update the rest of us got as I have heard they are planning on a new one. When you plug the headset into the computer what version number does it say you have for the firmware?
