THIS MACHINE IS FOR ANYONE THAT HATE DOING LAUNDRY
on June 28, 2017

This machine is for anyone that hate doing laundry every week and goes two or three weeks before doing laundry, or for a large family, or for a family caring for an elderly or disabled person where there are lots of soiled quilted bed pads to wash daily. I've only had it a week so far but I love it. The very first day I did 15 queen sized sheets, plus 30 coordinating pillow cases in one load... it was filled to the brim. I used the sanitize with oxi feature and hot water and it washed everything BEAUTIFULLY. Totally clean and I didn't even use deep fill (I forgot about it). Tide pods are my detergent of choice and I only used one pod plus the oxi clean powder. I did fill oxi to max. This is not my 1st Maytag top loader HE machine, so I know how to load it so it will clean well. My advice to those that are not happy with the cleaning power is follow the loading instructions they give you to the letter. Its very important to keep the clothes touching the walls of the drum. Just go higher and higher around the drum. Make sure you can see what I call the "nickel" which is the round piece in the center of the tub when you are finished loading. If something has covered the 'nickel' push it back against the wall. If you use those fabric scent beads, put them in first before loading, if you forget then pour them over the nickel but not on your clothing, otherwise you might end up with white stripes or streaks on dark items and will need to rinse again which defeats the purpose of using them. This machine is so quiet, it purrs during the spin cycle. But what I have found is don't use it on the highest spin setting, its quiet powerful and a little noisy, I did see some slight machine vibration on that setting. Instead I use the next to highest spin setting the most and it is perfect thus far for my spin dry needs. The only thing I can't speak to is longevity. I just don't know if the newer Maytag's last like their predecessors. My first maytag machine (which was the cheapest one they offered at the time because it was all I could afford) lasted 25 years with only two service calls! My second Maytag, Bravos XL mvwb850yw only lasted 5 and 1/2 years and I paid almost 1K for that machine, so it wasn't cheap. Like many of the top loading Bravos models of the early to mid 2000's (mine was a 2011 model) the ball bearings went out and some places want to replace the tub to replace the ball bearings, which is an $800 repair. Some will do the bearings only but that is still a $400+ repair for something that will occur again. You can buy the kit on Amazon to do it yourself for about $40 bucks, but that involved removing the tub, above my skillset after watching you tube videos on it. After much back and forth Whirlpool (who owns maytag now) did offer to pay for the parts but the labor was still going to be in the hundreds and the repairman I talked to at my house was pretty sure it would occur again within 5 years because he felt there was design flaw in those models. He explained it all to me but I won't go into it in this review. So after explaining this to Whirlpool (they didn't agree or disagree about the design flaw) they sold me this machine, brand new, well below what I would have to pay for it in any store or online ( I checked everywhere before agreeing to the resolution). They gave me a temporary pass to their employee purchase website so I could order it. I was able to buy this machine AND a 5 year extended warranty for less than what I would have paid for the machine on my own, so I will give them kudos for giving me that resolution. It was as frustrating process but I guess in the end they did come through, although a free replacement would have been ideal, I have to be reasonable in my expectations from corporate America today. Unless there is a class action lawsuit involved anything you get in compensation is a plus. In the end I like this machine so much better until I may have been all for the best at the end of the day.. everything for a reason as they say. I have a elderly parent living with me that moved in about a week before the other machine went out. Now I can handle all of her washing needs with ease, I can even run the washer while she is asleep (its next to her room) because it is so quiet. It also has a time delay function which is great too for when the machine gets older and I'm sure noise will come with age. I wish I could have afforded to get the new dryer too, but I couldn't. My old bravos dryer is pretty large though, I believe its 7.3 cubic feet. When I put that first load of 15 sheets and 30 pillow cases in my dryer it was full to the BRIM. Thus if you wash a capacity full load in the washer and have an older dryer you may have to dry in two loads. Fortunately my old bravos dryer did manage the load but it took a long time. Now I will split them or keep wash sizes slightly smaller. I just did so many sheets at once to test it out and also they had piled up while the other machine was on the blink. I was really shocked to see that it handled it all so well. Some had old stains on them that I had made note of and even they came out from the oxi boost I suppose. My suggestion to everyone is to read the owner's manual thoroughly before washing, especially if you're coming from a front loader or an agitator top loader because how you load this machine is different. You have to load it as if there is still an agitator in the center even though there isn't one. Also, if you don't really need the highest spin revolution setting of 1000 rpm.. why use it? Its only going to put more wear and tear on your machine. Drop down to the next to high or lower setting. Finally, it try using the pods, even warehouse clubs sell their own version cheaply. one pod is all you need soap wise. If you must use powder or liquid, then follow the manufacturer's amount, not going over max fill.... too much soap in these machines are never a good thing. This machine is a joy and I pray it last much longer than 5 years... but to be safe I got the max warranty I could buy, LOL.

Dead after 18 days of ownership, 10 days of use

I purchased these from BB and used the amazon print out for a price match. loved them, thought to myself how did I ever live without this technology. Wanted to give a 5 star review... then yesterday day they started to vibrate uncontrollably for about a minute then gave up the ghost.... I had only had them for about 18 days! And only used about 10 of the 18! BB only has a 14 day return policy, however its Christmas time and they are extending returns until 1/15/16 so hopefully I can get an new pair tomorrow. They won't charge at all, no light will come on when I connect them to the charger... when i say they are dead I meany REALLY DEAD. I purchased two pair, the other is a Christmas gift. I'm going to tell her to use the heck out of them as soon as she opens the box so if there is a problem with hers we will know before the exchange date is over

I LOVE this new printer!
on June 2, 2014

I use it for:Document printing
I love this printer. My printer (Kodak Office Hero) died and I went a month looking for a new one. I really wanted a Lexmark and I had that one before the Kodak and it worked great and lasted for years. But they don't make home consumer all in one printers anymore.. sigh. So since my printer at work is HP I decided to go with one. After researching the features and such and seeing this was new release for this month I decided to get it. At first I was going to get the 8630 because the extra color ink and extra paper tray makes up for the additional price. But my BB didn't have that one in stock. I didn't want to wait for shipping so I went with this one. I'm glad I did, its pretty tall, that extra paper tray would have made it too tall for my work area which has a hutch over it. Why do I love the printer? It was the easiest printer I have ever set up to date! No complicated anything, it recognized my Wi fi and added itself without problem. Also its so quiet compared to other ink jet printers. In fact its so quiet until when it did my first print with a photo graphic on it, it was done so quietly and quickly until I thought it wasn't working! Print is nice an crisp. I haven't tried printing on photo paper yet but the quality on normal paper is more than is needed for my use. I make greeting cards and also scrapbooks and it will work well for that. I chose this over the 8610 because it can scan legal size document on the flatbed and there were a few other specs that was better on this and the 8630. I purchased mine in the middle of the week, that Sunday it went on sale for $70 less that what I paid. Best Buy had no problem refunding the difference as I had just gotten it 3 days before. I can't believe I'm saying this (because I hate to spend money# but I'm glad my Kodak Office Hero gave up the ghost, this printer is 20 times better than that one. Very professional quality. I didn't even realize how much my Kodak was lacking until I got this HP. I think it even better #print quality wise# than my old Lexmark that I loved so. Oh and I forgot to mention, printing from my windows phone #via email# and my Nook HD+ #via HP print App) was an easy, peasy, snap! I LOVE IT!

It's OK. I think I would have rather gotten a Samsung or HP. Don't like the available games not near as good as Google playstore. Had real problem with customer service when first one I bought totally crashed in one week

I understand

I have a nextbook windows tablet from Walmart. I have had it for a year now, it was cheap but it does what I need it to do (allow me to access social media, email, and a few simple games like candy crush via my mifi/wifi while out and about). So when the Surface 3 came up for 399 which is totally in my price range I considered it long and hard... but ended up ordering a Samsung S2 9.7inch for the same price. Why? Well my nextbook is working fine, I upgraded it to Windows 10 and it does what I need it to do EXCEPT there still developers that for what ever reason will develop for any and everything other than Windows. My bank has that thing where you can take a picture of a check and make a deposit... The app is designed for Android, iOS, and even Kindle/Fire for goodness sake, but there is no app for windows. I can't use my phone ( I have a windows phone) can use my laptop (its windows) cant use my tablet (its windows)... sigh... so I need something other than a Windows OS in my life so I can take advantage of some of these apps like the one at my bank. So I get what you're saying about not having the game apps you want or need. I love windows and evangelize on it all of the time, but they really need to do something about these developers that will develop for every platform out there EXCEPT Windows, its so frustrating..

actually that will work well for me. I don't like my mattress covers to be wrung really dry when I put them in the dryer as it tends to shrink them a little depending on style

Not the best
By TiredHousewife
This washing machine does not always start when I think it has started. When I come back to put the clothes in the dryer they were never washed.
It does a very bad job off spinning out large loads. A large capacity washer that can't handle large loads is worthless. I wish I could return it.

Is there a 5 year warranty

10 year on tub and certain parts. Otherwise you can purchase a five year from Maytag directly. I'm sure BB have warranties you can buy as well

Which SanDisk is best for listening to audio books.

I just ruined my sansa. clip+ which worked great for listening to audio books. I want to replace it, but I don't see any of the same type of device.
I use a zune, I snapped up 3 before Microsoft stopped making them... maybe you can find one or a sansa clip on ebay

Which mp3 players are powered by an AAA Battery instead of charging the player itself?

My first Mp3 was from SanDisk and ran on one AA battery, I say try that product line and see if they still sell products like that.
