Very powerful; not perfect

As I am currently searching for a tablet for my daily use for many things, I came across a few that interested me. I wanted one by the size of 8 inches that were powerful enough to be used without any lags in games or any application. I have bought and tried Galaxy tab pro 8.4, Galaxy tab S 8.4, and Nvidia shield tablet and compared these three of the most powerful 8 inch tablets out there next to each other (Not that I hate Apple, but I don't have any apple device to sync with. It would be annoying to switch now)
First, Nvidia shield tablet definitely wins from both of the Sansung tablets in performance. Upon playing several games and running applications (words, excel, powerpoints, pdfs, etc that I use daily), there were significantly less lags compared to the other two tablets. The speed is flawless. Reading magazines or books generated no lag issues either. They were all smooth.
Now, I am not a hardcore gamer. I did not intend to purchase the controller when I purchased this tablet nor will I in the future. However, I am a casual gamer that do not play higher end games that are capable of being played on the device. For these casual games, all of the tablets performed similarly, if not same.
Second, the Nvidia shield has amazing speakers and sound quality. They are SO good. Watching videos and listening to music were so much more enjoyable compared to the other two. Definitely more than the Galaxy tab pro 8.4, which has speakers on only one side of the tablet. I don't know whose idea it was to put the speakers on only one side of the tablet. Nvidia shield tablet definitely wins in sound quality.
The battery life was about same for all of the devices. This is really subjective - it all depends on what you use the tablets for. Gamers will have their batteries drained much quickly. For my casual gaming time, the Shield lasted about 2 hours, which matches with the expert reviews.
The stylus is definitely a nice add-on, but I don't know if I would have any good use for it. I'm not a drawer and do not attend classes to take notes. Perhaps later in the future it may be of use for me, but this also depends on the user. I've had Galaxy notes in the past during my college years and they were excellent for taking notes. I would think the same for the shield, but I did notice that my writing on the shield looked horrendous compared to my notes in the galaxy note. Maybe my hand writing got worse or perhaps because the S-pen has a firm end compared to the shield styus. Who knows.
The form factor is also subjective. I *love* the back of the shield, but let's be honest - are you going to keep the device open like that? The first item that I get along with any electrical device is a protection - in this case, the screen protector and case. I would think the same with most of the buyers. With the case on, the back does not matter. Are you going to take it out of the case to show it off to your friends? The edges of the tablet is made of some glossy metal type is definitely going to crack at some point. For some materials, you just KNOW that it's not going to hold for a long time. In fact, there are already people having issues with the cracked edges. Although the tablet looks and feels like a tank, upon closer inspection, it doesn't seem that durable. Also - why such thick screen bezel is a mystery. Although the surface dimension of the tablet is the same size as the galaxy tab pro 8.4 and s 8.4, because the screen is smaller in Nvidia shield tablet, there is a larger bezel size. Some people may argue that it's because of the speaker placements. I am not arguing about the speaker placements. That is fine - the bezel for the screen is still too big. If you were holding the tablet in landscape mode, you will have to extend your thumb more than you would for the galaxy tabs.
The front side camera is surprisingly good. It is a 5 megapixels camera, which is higher than those of the galaxy tabs. However, the back side camera (also 5 mp) is definitely a weak point along with no flash light.
Now, for *my* biggest disappoint for this device - the screen. Yes, the screen of Nvidia is fabulous. It is well above the qualities of the most tablets out there. However, upon comparing with the galaxy tabs, this is one area that definitely lacks compared to the other two. The resolution is lower. The color seems a bit "off" sometimes, especially in cases of white color. The contrast in the shield is lacking. When I am expected to see a white color (ex. background of word files or books) I want to see a white color. Nvidia failed to deliver that - it seems a bit yellowish. Granted it is easier for the eyes, however. The pictures and movies colors seem warmer than the other two as well. On the other far end, the galaxy tab S 8.4 had way over-saturated colors. In case of the screens, the galaxy tab pro 8.4 was right on. In terms of the pixel density however, all of them had no issues with normal uses, such as reading, despite the numerical differences in the devices.
The Nvidia shield is currently undergoing many updates that attempt to fix its errors. I've had some bugs that made me restart the device. Sometimes the wireless was having issues. The sd card reading crashed the tablet and I had to factory reset. These problems are bound to be fixed sooner or later, however. Don't worry about these.
In conclusion, the Nvidia shield tablet is not for everyone. If you're a heavy gamer or a music listener out loud, definitely go for this device. It is the most powerful tablet out there. However, if you are like me, who uses the tablet more towards books, documents, and internet surfing, and casual gaming, Nvidia shield is less of an option for you. Although the galaxy tab pro 8.4 lacks in performance compared to the shield, for the simple tasks, it will be sufficient.
I really wish that the screen of the galaxy pro 8.4 (which is simply beautiful) was incorporated in to the Nvidia shield tablet - I would not be hesitating with the choices. The price of the galaxy tab pro 8.4 is around 250-330 dollars (it is going on sales in monthly basis) and with the purchase, it gives you a 25 dollars google playstore credit along with other "perks". However, I would not recommend galaxy tab S at this current moment.
What's great about it: Speakers, power, reasonable price, size
What's not so great: Screen
I would recommend this to a friend!

So much trouble, but in the end, worth every penny

My family purchased this item back in November. At the end of Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, we got this for 1200 dollars. This was an absolute steal for us. Regularly priced at 2000+ for that price? We went through the trouble of special order because they did not have this at the warehouse and that took about 3 weeks. During this time, Best Buy messed up quite a bit... in delivery department... etc... but in the end, the customer service representatives did wonderful jobs to remedy the problem and I am completely satisfied. It was quite an extensive problem from their end (which included changing the delivery dates more than twice the day before the scheduled delivery...) ... but they did provide me with 150 dollars gift card for the trouble that I went through. So... I guess I purchased this amazing fridge for $1050 + tax!
The first fridge that I received in late December was actually... a defect. For a few days I thought that it was normal that a fridge makes scratchy noises that sounded like fans hitting something, but it started to annoy everyone off in the family. I looked at the reviews of this site and I found that the other customers had very quiet fridge! So I stopped by the local Best Buy to speak with the floor manager at the appliances section and I gave him the recorded sound of my fridge. He said the fridge was definitely a defect and I proceeded with an exchange on the phone (since it was an online purchase). The rep was very nice again and I received the new fridge yesterday. The fridge is so quiet, as others have said in this page.
I love the LED lighting inside of the fridge - it gives the feeling that it is clean inside (compared to regular yellowish lighting). This fridge allows power cooling and freezing that allows fast cooling whenever necessary. I don't use ice maker so I turned that off. The deli storage allows 3 different temperatures depending on what's inside. I store my veggies in there under fresh temperature. (3C compared to 1C in the rest of the fridge). We got the stainless platinum color and it's absolutely gorgeous. No fingerprints and you can use magnets! It should be advised, however, that any dent made in this particular color can be more visible than other colors. I was able to see one, on my new fridge, during the installation. The delivery guys actually hit the door handle hard against the door when they were installing and that made a dent. However, the dent could be covered by the door handle itself so it was not a problem for me. I let that one go... >:P The delivery guys were extremely professional and knowledgeable about the product. I was pleasantly surprised with their answers when I asked them several questions.
In the end, I am satisfied with this fridge. I would recommend it to others. Extremely satisfied with the customer service department. Anyone would recognize Amazon's amazing customer service experience, but I would rank my experience with Best Buy along with my Amazon's service.
What's great about it: Easy set up, amazing price, clean layout, sleek design, easy to use, a lot of spaces
I would recommend this to a friend!

Yep, I have, and I tried side by side again. There was not much of a difference.

Warranty clarification

Your website lists 10 year warranty on sealed system. On the Samsung website, it states 5 years. Will you honor the 10 year warranty?
It is stated 10 years. It is actually 5 years. I called Best Buy to confirm, but they will not honor the 10 year warranty. I told them of the problem almost a year ago, but they still haven't fixed the description.
