great gaming laptop

I highly recommend this version as it has the IPS display rather than the poor TN panel that was shipped on the laptops prior. We had the base model with the TN panel before and returned it as it was slow (no SSD) and the screen was just poor quality. This is a much better laptop, boot times are fast with the SDD and the 1050TI graphics card is about 30% better than the 1050 so well worth the extra money if you can afford it. The laptop does not run hot and when the fans turn on they are not loud. My son is quite pleased with this laptop and immediately noticed the difference between this one and the base model-he LOVES this laptop. He uses it for school work and to play his favorite game-Rocket League. The base model wasn't terrible but this one is definitely well worth the extra money.

not much difference if you don't have 4k

I bought this for my son for Christmas but we returned it being he said he couldn't tell any difference between it and his original ps4. We did notice that the wifi chip is much improved but that wasn't worth $399 to us as he doesn't have an issue with lag. We do not have a 4k tv, just a 1080p, so could be a big difference if you do-can't comment to that. This costs quite a bit more than the ps4 so was not worth the upgrade.

beware if you get geek squad to install

I bought this Whirlpool dishwasher and have been quite pleased with it so far but within a couple of months it wouldn't drain. Turned out just the drain line was kinked so nothing wrong with dishwasher but when inspecting the cause I noticed that the Geek Squad (I paid for installation) did not upgrade my water line to the stainless steel one I was required to buy and left my 17 year old plastic one in. This bothered me as recently a friends dishwasher leaked and left extensive damage to where all of their hardwoods had to be replaced. If I pay $150 for installation I expect them to upgrade my water line to the one I bought. I called to complain and got routed to a few different Best Buy folks last of which 'was looking into it' and would call me back. Never heard from them again-I am sure being I was no longer within the return period so they don't care. So-if you decide to buy the installation, assume they are doing the minimum and make sure you watch them so they are installing your entire kit. I for one will never hire geek squad for installation again.

pretty good oven

I actually wanted to buy a Whirlpool stove being the one I had lasted for so long but ended up buying this Samsung to match my refrigerator (which I LOVE). I also bought the matching microwave-the trio look great together. The stove runs pretty hot, boils water quickly and preheats quickly which I like a lot but I feel like the controls are of lower quality than my old Whirlpool-can feel the back move when I push the buttons. Also the storage drawer feels pretty cheap but they all did. This storage drawer was of decent size compared to a lot of the other units I looked at though. Overall it looks great, works well and I would recommend being the controls and storage drawer are pretty minor complaints. It does make clicking noises when it heats up like other reviewers noted but it's not bothersome at all to me.

So far I am loving this refrigerator

So, I had limited choices being I have a wall on one side so needed a 33" wide model to accomodate being able to open and close the french doors. I have white appliances but got a great open box deal on this SS one and I really am enjoying it and doesn't look as mismatched as I thought it would with my white stove/microwave. Ice/water in the door works great, it's quiet, plenty of room for everything and the middle drawer is awesome for quick items. I checked the temperature in each zone and it's exactly what it should be. Huge freezer and the little inside lip space is perfect for ice packs. It's top rated on consumer reports but I did have multiple people say that Samsung customer svc is HORRIBLE so fingers crossed that I never have to use them. Only though we have only owned it a few weeks now, my son and I are very much enjoying this fridge.

Great tv

I was going to buy a 24" Vizio smart tv for my bedroom but saw this 32" Sharp on sale and changed my mind. Great picture quality, easy setup, and I was able to pick up 38 channels over the air which is way more than my old tv. Channels are very clear and I just use my chromecast for Netflix.

added surge protector

Let me add that I did buy a surge protector for this refrigerator on Amazon as I wanted to protect my investment. These newer fridges are not like the old ones, much more technology so you need to protect the circuit board as power surges can shorten the life of the unit. I bought one for about $30 that sets off an alarm once the surge protector goes bad since you can't see behind the fridge so I know when it needs to be replaced.

Actually, the 256gb Macbook Air was on sale for $999, not the Pro.The 256gb Pro was on sale for $1299. Bet buy will refund the difference if the price goes down within the return period at Best Buy, I have done that a number of times.

Do your homework

I bought the MacBook Air listed as "latest model" on January 11, 2017. Well on February 1st, 2017 the screen started going dark and the touch pad would jump around and/or lock up. If you shine a flashlight at the screen you can see what it's supposed to display. I went back to the store of purchase. They said Best Buy does not do repairs and to take it to Apple. Apple said since it was not purchased from them, they do not do the repairs, that they send the units out. I said ok. The response was it is an early 2015 model so it is not covered by warranty and it would be $755 + tax to repair. I only paid $800. I guess you get what you pay for. Now I bought a MacBook Pro right from Apple in 2009 that still works. So I know what to expect. I'm not exactly pleased as I do not have money for repairs.

SSLLLOOOWWW loading webpages

I was about to buy the older version MacBook Pro, but the Best Buy guy talked me out of it by showing my how fast this 2015 version (bought in Aug 2016) loads many webpages at once. That was true for about 2 weeks. I am now 7 months in and it literally takes anywhere from 15 seconds to 2 minutes (no kidding) to load pages now. It is like I have gone back 15 years technology wise. I have purchased a cleaning app, I have looked at my memory available and my CPU. Not even close to any issues there. I have tried Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I have updated, and restarted and reloaded browsers. I am now very frustrated.

Great for laptop for its value!

This is going to be lengthy but hopefully helpful review.

First of all, ignore the first review. Giving a one star rating is completely unreasonable.

I will state my old adage. You get what you pay for.

Now I work in IT so I believe my knowledge in computers is pretty substantial. But that also doesn't mean you should take my word on anything. Do your research. Always. Now let's get on with my review on this laptop.

This review will be split into two sections. One for those who just want the basics and a second for those who want a detailed technical review. I will provide both. As with any product, there are Strengths and Areas of Improvement.

------ Section I - The Basics ------

Although Best Buy lists the technical specifications, I know most average users will not go through the trouble of understanding any of the technical jargon so I will simply put what matters most for an average user.

CPU (the brain of the laptop) - The 7th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ is one of the fastest and newest on the market today and a great value for your money. It will do almost everything you need with no problem.

Memory (RAM) - 8GB is more than enough for your daily needs. It is also upgradeable to 32GB.

Graphics (the extra fluff) - The graphics card that come equipped with this will more than satisfy your gaming desires. It will run most AAA titles as well as the older titles with ease. Although, this doesn't mean you should run every game at the highest settings possible as this would put stress on any GPU including this one. So run the game at settings you feel like you can manage. I was able to run Watch Dogs 2 at High Settings with no problems.

Storage (Hard Drive) - The Hard Drive that comes with this is more than plenty for your daily needs. It is upgradeable and also has an option to add an additional M.2 SSD storage option.

Display (the window) - Now the display is what most people will notice and what most people will complain about. But like I said, you get what you pay for. Companies such as Dell had to cut the cost for this laptop from somewhere and in this case it is the display. But this reason alone should not be the determining factor to buy or not to buy. Most consumers are used to the glossy clear HD monitors and screens. If this is what you ate used to then, yes, you will be disappointed by the screen on this laptop. But the display panel can be upgraded or even replaced with a better one. So for those more technically adept folks, you are in luck here. I will go more into this in Section 2.

Battery (the life) - The battery is great for a laptop of this size and caliber. Imagine sticking a Prius battery into an F-150 and running entirely on that. You won't get "Prius" grade battery life on a gaming laptop but you'll get more than enough.

Speakers - Laptop speakers are average. I would not expect much from speakers of any laptop as being an audiophile myself you won't get studio grade sound quality from a tiny speaker. Your best bet would be getting external speakers. But the speakers on these are sufficient enough.

Keyboard - Once again, this is a laptop, don't expect desktop grade keyboards on a laptop. The laptop on this keyboard is actually better than most other laptops in this price range. It has good feedback and does not feel too cheap. As I'm typing on this now, I have no trouble.

As for upgrades, this laptop is upgradeable. The basics can be upgraded such as the HDD, SDD, and RAM. The display panel can even be upgraded or replaced for those who don't like the screen. The screen can be replaced with any screen that has a 30 pin eDP connector.

For the SDD, you can either get a 2.5" SDD or an M.2 or NVMe SSD.

For the HDD, you will have to get a 2.5" SSHD or HDD.

For the RAM, it will have to be DDR4 with 2133MHz or above.

I have attached an image of each upgradeable slot.

Like I said in the beginning, you get what you pay for and for the price I paid for this laptop, it is a great value. I can easily upgrade this laptop in the future and this is what is most valuable. I would definitely recommend this laptop.

Very powerful and light

i have enjoyed my time with this laptop. good strength used it to play league of legends and diablo 3 for now and they ran great. i love how light this computer is for what it comes with. cons and why it lost a star are that it does not come with backlit keyboard and for the price you pay i think it should. battery life is what you expect from a gaming machine so i can complain to much about that
