I have 7 Nest Cams (w Subscriptions) and was looking forward to this product. Unfortunately it was a major let down and promptly return. Full of bugs and the recognition doesn't work very well. I'd recommend the original over this.

Just picked up this 8tb WD for $179 in order to back up my movie collection. Have had great success with the last two WD external hardrives (6 TB and 3 TB) which are both still going strong. Prior to the WD, had Seagates which all failed after a few years,

In not new to these types of cameras. I’ve had several of the following Logitech Alert Dropcam Nestcam Netgear Arlo
Now I have 5 of the Logi Circles. Great camera so far. They need to add customization (zones, IFTTT, PC/MAC access, text/email snapshots and more cloud options) and this could be a home run. Never really cared about the battery portion of this camera as others may. Once I position it, there it will stay.
If Nestcam / Dropcam offered the same free cloud option, then I'd go with them. Nestcam shot themselves in the foot with the forced pay option cloud recording. There is basically on two tiered options (expensive and super expensive) with Nestcams.
Reliability with these have been great so far. I have mine connected to my 5G wifi and they have a weak signal with the camera downstairs at the opposite end of the house. As to be expected I guess with the 5G distance limitations and if it becomes an issue, I can always pick up a booster if needed.
Clarity and audio is great. It only feeds at 720p which is sufficient but would want the option to pick 1080p as most other cams do including Nest. My bandwidth can handle 1080p easily and should be my choice. Hopefully this will be addressed in the near future.
What keeps this from being 5 star and a SERIOUS security Camera like the Nest
-720p capped -No custom Zones to minimize false alerts -No Email/Text Snapshots -More cloud storage options

I purchased the 4 camera system and added an additional camera. I am no stranger to home security cameras. I’ve had Pansonic and Logitech Alert in the past. I addition to the Arlo, I have the Dropcam Pros and the newest version of the Dropcam Pro aka Nest Cam. Total cams for theses are 6. Five of which, I have the 10 day cloud recording service associated with my Dropcams/Nest cam. Plus of Arlo - No wires - Small and can be placed anywhere - Weatherproof Minuses - Poor IR illumination (I supplemented with addition IR lamp) - HORRIBLE motion detection recording - Battery Life ( I get about 1-2 months) - No ability to set zones for recording/detection - Image recording quality can be pixilated at times. - Support - No audio
The ARLO system is not a legit security system for the minuses I mentioned. The motion detection is the deal breaker. What use is the system if the camera catches only a partial part of the incident. I have set my cameras up as indicated in the manual so the motion is captured from side to side. Problem is when the cam detects motion and starts to record, the incident is either already gone or you catch the end of it.
The inability to set up “zones” is also a big issue for a security system. This would allow you to cut down on false motions and also save battery life. The Nest Cam/Dropcam beats the Arlo hands down in pretty much every aspect with the exception of being weather proof and wireless. Motion detection is far superior, night vision, audio, and the software all exceed what Arlo has to offer.
The Dropcam/Nest does not offer cording unless you pay for the cloud recording. I have all my cams on cloud recording and it is worth the extra money if you want a good reliable security system. My cams are recording 24/7 and record the last 10 days. So, I don’t ever have to worry about missing the action like the arlo. The Nest also allows for user set zones also.
The ARLO has severe limitations and for that, it is a subpar “security system”. If you can afford the cloud record, I’d recommend the Nest Cams. If you don’t want to spend money on recording, I’d look into other system and not the Arlo.

Not much of a "Media Center" that Microsoft boasts

Ok, I picked up the Xbox one and I consider myself a casual gamer at best. My previous console is the PS3 which was great. Prior to that, was the monstrosity 360 which I was a 3 time victim of the RROD. After the warranty expired, my 3rd RROD, Microsoft basically said tough.
So, that's why I went to the PS3. But, the ALL IN ONE NEDIA CENTER that the One is tinkering with lured me back. So, the visuals on the game seem great for my one game (Battlefield 4) and I'm confident as the years pass by. That the PS4's graphics will not BLOW OUT the Ones.....though I'm sure it will be slightly better as it has more graphics horsepower.
Voice control on the kinect is about 75%. Seems like I'm finding myself reaching for the controller more often than not. This is because the Kinect doesn't seem to understand me the 1st or 2nd time. So I find it quicker to use the controller. Hopefully this will be improved as it's a major part of the ALL IN ONE thing Microsoft is touting.
Sometimes the ONE won't even turn on my system (game and TV) or it takes 4 times to do it. When it does turn on, I find it VERY annoying that it goes right to the HOME screen as opposed to full screen TV. I'd rather it go right to full TV than the home screen. This is because I use my TV primarily for TV rather than gaming. It would be nice if Microsoft gave the user this option. I find myself annoyed that I'm forced to switch to full TV screen mode with the controller....because it's easier than using the voice control at this point.
Only other option to keep my TV in full screen mode is to keep my ONE always on and waste electricity. So, if Microsoft improves on the Kinect and the other annoying issues that keep the Kinect and main box from feeling like its ONE PERFECTLY INTIGRATED machine...I think it would be a fantastic success. Right now, it feels like the Kinect and the main box DO NOT mesh very well.
Update 12/17/13
Voice control will NOT turn on system via "Xbox On" voice command and TV picture freezes which you need to do a hard reboot to correct. This all started after the first update xbox just recently put out. Unacceptable for this to happen to a system that boasts being a media center machine. ONE STAR until they fix this.
