Updated, and UPGRADED, my entire speaker set up. Went from some Klipsch Heresy IIs (mains) and non-timbre matched Klipsch center (KSF C-5) and surround (SS-1) speakers to a completely new Motion speaker set up. The Heresy speakers will be missed for their classic rock sound, but the Motion 40s are my new love. It is like comparing a 70’s muscle car to a finely tuned sports car of today. Both have value, but the demands of today music and HT requires high-performance machines. I bought the Motion 40s (mains), Motion 50XT (center), Dynamo 700 (sub) and Motion FX 5-1/4 (surrounds) all in one go. The speakers are being driven by a Marantz SR7005 (AV receiver), which seems to be very good match for Martin Logans. My listening is 70 percent music (rock, blues, 90’s alt and some jazz on Sunday mornings) and 30 percent TV/HT. Okay, for the quick review: The recommended break in period is no joke. After 50+ hours of two channel playback, the sound warmed up and some harshness in the tweeters began to relax. I think the center channel took the longest. Bi-amping the Motions 40 is a “must do” unless you have some sort of high-end, high wattage power amp. The Motion 40s will thank you for removing the jumper clips! Some may want a more power subwoofer than the Dynamo 700 if you like to cause structural damage to your house during movies. But for me, the sub is more than adequate. The piano black finish is a very nice, adding a tough of classic to any living space – wife accepted! Bottom-line, I am completely happy with my purchase. Years of listening pleasure are ahead! The only downside with these speakers, you may start seriously considering a high-end pre/pros arrangement to maximize the capabilities of these beauties. I am!
