Difficult to clean

I have a 2 year old SensoTouch3D 1290x. Got these replacement heads as they are the recommended ones. You can't find the original style ... or if you can, they cost more than the whole shaver!
The RQ12+ cuts well, but what I really liked about the old ones was the simplicity of cleaning - pop up each head, rinse, air dry, pop down - perfect if you are in a rush or frequent traveller.
The new design requires you to completely pull off all 3 heads to rinse under the tap i.e., detach from the shaver. Philips recommend you follow an 11 step process to clean them each month ... for which you need to use a special tool (which they provide in the package). I don't think these shave any better, so when they need replacing, I'm afraid I'll be looking at other shavers. This reviewer is hoping and praying that Philips bring back the old style heads before then.

Great with old blades - buy with caution

Bought this 2 years ago. Excellent shave. Other than quality of shave, the best bit about this shaver was the ease of cleaning. Each head pops up and can be rinsed under the tap. Leave to air dry, then flip each blade down. Simple, quick, no fiddly tools. Cleaning was literally a breeze.
Got my second replacement blades recently - philips recommend you change them every year. The design has changed. You have to remove the blades completely and there's now an 11 step process for cleaning each month. It's a fiddly process, you need a tool and it's no longer quick and easy.
Unfortunately, if you can find the old style blades, they are more than you'll pay for the whole shaver ($200 +). The latest replacement blade (RQ12+) will cost around $60 per year. Shave quality is good, but a lot more difficult to clean :(
