Awesome air fryer!
on August 31, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
This air fryer is fantastic. It's easy to use and makes cooking a batch of fries, chicken nuggets or bacon (carefully!) and other things a snap. The basket is easy to remove and clean and at 3 quarts is the perfect size for most meals you'd cook. You get control over the temperature and time so that you can set it, check it, and finish cooking a meal or side with ease. I really do like this one as it fits perfectly on the counter, doesn't take up a lot of room, and the display/controls are easy to see and use which is something I absolutely disliked on my old one. The basket is removable and washed just fine in the dishwasher with my other dishes though, I find that it really is just as easy to rinse out right after using it as cleaning the non-stick surface takes minimal effort. Simplicity in this case makes a machine that does the job well and really makes cooking with it an effortless experience. This machine isn't all that noisy and was easy enough to tolerate. Unfortunately I have heard some that are very noisy and sound like a jet taking off in your kitchen and to me this wasn't one of those. This would make the perfect gift for someone and is a great in-between size that's not too small but not so huge it takes tons of precious counter space.

Awesome fast/close video shots but falls short...
on August 29, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
The Avata is a super fun, easy to fly FPV drone and overall, it's a good setup but there were a few areas surprisingly not all that great. In terms of FPV flying, it's absolutely without a doubt the best setup to get for fast, low and aggressive flying for excellent motion shots with some of the higher end features that higher end drones have. Outside of sport/fun flying (which is severely limited by battery life) and recording cinewhoop clips it may disappoint some. I'd recommend it hands down for that as you certainly can do some awesome 4k shots because it's small and flies low and fast, yet very stable.
What's GOOD:
-Easy to fly and easy to do awesome video shots with
-Easy setup
-USB-C Charging
-Goggles are highly adjustable for best possible vision
-GPS Features
-EXCELLENT video quality
-EXCELLENT stability
-Goggles/remote have great battery life
-Underside collision detection
-Drone is designed to take some hits without damaging it
What's not so good:
-Drone has very short battery life
-No fast charging
-No included chargers (yep, DJI is following the cell phone trend, you'll need to buy one)
-Remote didn't charge with all USB-C chargers
-Goggle battery does not accept all USB-C charging cables (some cable ends are too big)
-GPS auto-return was inaccurate by more than 10-15 feet off several times even with solid GPS locks which nearly caused a severe crash off a rock (my DJI Air 2s does this flawlessly all the time)
-No side collision detection
-No photo options (I know this is a FPV drone but why not include it as an option?)
-Goggles are uncomfortable/sweaty (especially in the 90-100 deg heat) and fog up
-Blades are very noisy, you will NOT be flying this near people without unwanted attention
-Aircraft activation forces you to accept terms and arbitration to use it
-FAA rules are completely lacking for low flying so guidance on what/where it's okay to use is not always clear
-App has to be side-loaded on Android and is not on the play store (this is sketchy at best as no one 3rd party has reviewed this app and what you are giving it access to do) I assume it's fine but it's questionable considering the forced T&C to activate the drone. I was hoping that something in this regard might have changed with the Avata coming out but nope, nada.
In terms of the good, the Goggles and Controller is amazing, and makes the whole experience VERY IMMERSIVE. Fly like a bird - literally! It's amazing! So in terms of being fun and snapping some awesome video clips this thing is amazing. For some that may be all they want and I would have to say I'd recommend it hands down for the experience and videography.
The Goggles/Remote:
The goggles are great, they are lightweight and the adjustability for the best vision possible is flat out the best there is! The battery life on them is awesome, and certainly would last a few different flights. Where they fall short is the material and breathability.. it was 95 when I did the shot attached and they sweated my forehead badly which caused the lenses to fog up and have to take them off periodically. Not ideal, especially when your drone runs dead in 15-20 minutes. The battery can't be charged with just any USB-C cable as some ends have larger housings that won't let you plug it in, make sure the housing end on the cable is small or use the short one that's included in the kit to charge it. The touch control is great, and worked well making it easy to use. It's too bad that the remote didn't have a flip switch to let you navigate menus with it the same way you fly the drone. The remote is very straight forward which is good but it also limits it. Why not include a few macro type buttons that you can assign your own actions to to keep it's design simple but allow some customizability that improves usability. The remote does not charge on two of my USB-C PD fast chargers which is disappointing.
The Drone:
As said, the video is awesome and it seems like it would hold up great under the flying conditions it would be exposed to flying low and fast. It's super stable and the GPS feature is a great feature to have on a FPV drone. It's very stable, the video is stable and it's easy to control even in breezy conditions so following, hugging contours and flying low will provide unique one of a kind shots limited by only your experience and imagination.
Where it lacks .. first is the battery life is very limiting and the battery does not fast charge and there's no charger included and the cables included are short so, it's a guarantee you'll be buying a charger with this kit and spare batteries - yes multiple, as the flight time is short (15-20 mins under easy flying conditions) and charge time is long (more than an hour almost two). I imagine the harder you fly it (i.e. manual/sport mode or in windy conditions this time will undoubtedly go down). There is a tradeoff with the batterie and that it makes it lighter and faster so you can keep up with the action, it's a mixed bag on this but if you have only one battery it's very limiting.
More importantly, if you want to charge the drone, the remote, and the battery for the goggles, you'll need a special USB-C charger with 3 ports or plan to use all the chargers you have for your phones and tablets. The USB-C is great because chargers/cables are easier to find but if you're an iPhone user - this will undoubtedly frustrate you depending on what charger you have because your phone stuff will likely not work unless you have the charger with the USB-C port. Clearly, DJI did not think this through at all or did with intention of selling accessories which is extremely disappointing for a higher end device like this where charging/batteries really do make or break the experience! Imagine your phone having an hour run time and having no charger included, that's literally what this setup feels like. In this case it will disappoint, so save yourself the frustration and get a charger and several extra batteries at the same time you buy this drone! The USB-C port and microSD card is in a terrible spot, making them extremely difficult to access.
In summary, this drone is a mixed bag. If you overlook the shortcomings I would have to say it's great and even with the shortcomings it's probably still the best FPV drone out in it's class. The older one is better in some regards yet this one is better in others. It's awesome for following action, flying through tight places and low to the ground, following trails, hills and rocks. There's a ton of different things you can do once you get past the batteries. I'd love to see DJI combine the best of both the features from the Air2s with this. Honestly, I have more fun with the Air2s than my FPV drone and now this FPV because it has a longer flight time, is generally more universal and the side and bottom collision detection does make it so you can get close to things without crashing. That said neither are nearly as fast and stable with video as the Avata which is a key feature of this machine and the FPV package just makes it so you can go places and do things you just can't with the larger ones. Again, two different classes of machines with different use cases!! The Avata is as good as it gets when it comes to FPV flying and if DJI works out the app, activation, goggle comfort, and battery charging issues this drone would be perfect for any drone collection.

Good to keep an eye out on your identity
on August 18, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
Setting LifeLock up was easy and took only a matter of minutes and I was able to scan for issues. Anyone who's had their information "potentially" leaked should try this service out because it does basic monitoring of the dark web for your personal information which can be used to help prevent identity theft and when it does occur they connect you up with a 3rd party that can help.
One thing that's helpful is knowing user ID's with passwords that are out there from breaches associated with your online accounts which can go a long way toward preventing problems that are sometimes difficult to fix or resolve quickly. Knowing this can help you prevent your accounts from being taken over or compromised in some way and I'd definitely recommend having it even if your info hasn't been breached. What is out there might surprise you.
The features this service offers are basic but what I would consider essential monitoring for your personal information. A good way to look at this is if there's an issue you may then want to monitor more than just for your personal info but watch or lock credit reports and take steps to secure your bank accounts and review who has access to any accounts you hold. I feel confident with LifeLock's advisor service as they do work they offer other products that compliment Advisor as well which I'd also recommend especially if you run a business or are going to purchase a home. It's so easy to setup and it literally could save you countless hours trying to fix identity theft problems. I'd absolutely recommend it!

Great robot vacuum and mop bundle I'd recommend!
on June 20, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
This bundle is amazing and would be a great addition to any home that has a combination of hard floors and carpet.
Starting with the Roomba i3+...
First, I have to say it's an amazing device and if you have pets, kids or a lot of in/out traffic, I would definitely say this is a good investment because it will keep your floors much cleaner without as much effort!
Of course that doesn't mean you set it and forget it.. there are still a few things you need to do.. first you still need to pick up small toys or objects as these can cause issues with the robot.. the small dog rope toys are the worst and the robot gets stuck on them and tries to suck them up. Second, I'd make sure you don't have your dogs out/free as if there is an "accident" I do think really bad things could happen with that accident and cause the worst unimaginable mess you can think of. I personally haven't experienced it but have heard others who have and this unit is no different where it tries to run over and suck up small rubber toys and small rope toys!
In our house, we have a combination of area rugs, hard floors and carpet throughout the area upstairs. So far, it's handled the rugs and floors just fine and it definitely does suck up dust, hair and dirt/stuff that's tracked inside. What is cool is that you can direct the robot to clean specific rooms once you have it setup and it's learned your floors/rooms and you can control it via wifi or your smart assistant. It also senses really dirty areas and will go back over them to clean it up. There's a lot of high tech stuff crammed into it because it senses walls, furniture, drop offs and larger/heavier items on the floor. There is one threshold in our house it has trouble with because it's fairly high so that's the one thing I wish Roomba would do is come up with a sensor that could sense that and lift the front of the bot up to navigate across or up on to a rug that's higher off the hard floor. Best part of this unit is it empties itself in to the bin making it much easier to clean up and helping it last much longer between when you have to do maintenance such as emptying it or cleaning rollers as you would with nearly any other vacuum. Also, It does work as advertised and does not fall down our stairs, which is a huge plus.
Now, for the Braava jet...
I thought this concept was cool and it really does work by helping keep dust off your floors and will help keep them clean by keeping the grime cleaned up. I have noticed it now after using different pads that depending on the pads it does seem to leave streaks/marks where it's been. That's one thing that I don't care for as it makes your floors look like they are dirty when they are not. This could just be the cleaning solution but either way I don't like how it looks. In addition, if you have rugs on your hard floors, and don't pick them up this thing doesn't deal with them well in all scenarios. It does sense them so it won't mop a rug but it could cause the robot to not clean beyond that rug or around it. Perhaps that's something they can update to help the robot "learn" where all your rugs are so it cleans around them and uses it sensors with that learned map to navigate around them.
To fix this, I'd recommend setting it on a schedule so all you have to do is pickup your rugs after Roomba vacuums the rooms. What I did is set one to do it Thursday and the mop to do it's duty on Friday when no one is home (which both of these can sense and will stop if someone is home). If you have problems with the streaking, I would recommend using a different pad, and specifically a reusable pad and then reduce how much cleaning solution I use or mix it with water. I wish that Roomba would include their own recommendations on how to work through these challenges as I'm sure there are many others who have the same issues and you shouldn't have to "figure it out" when it's such a large investment to get these machines.
These machines do work and work well together to help keep your house clean and make it so you don't have to deep clean as often, especially if you have pets or lots of in/out traffic through your home. If you have hard floors, I would say it's essential because it cuts down on dust dramatically and can go under furniture, in corners and near walls is most cases to clean where dust tends to accumulate (especially in a bedroom with hard floors).
The Roomba app makes it easy to setup and manage your robots and set schedules, control them and monitor status/progress and connect them to your smart assistant. In addition you get voice control so you can control your Roomba with your voice as well. Both machines are well built and packed with high-tech sensors designed to deal with most common situations/enviornments.
Overall, this is a great bundle and a worthwhile investment. I wouldn't say it would completely "replace" a mop and vacuum but definitely will keep your house cleaner than it would otherwise be without them as you can have them do daily cleanings and even spot cleaning to save you time/effort.

The Mysa Smart Thermostat for Air Conditioners is the premium smart thermostat that's designed to control your home's electric cooling and heating by interfacing with your non-central air conditioning unit. Say goodbye to that unit's inefficient LCD remote and take full control of your window, portable, and ductless mini-split heat pump AC units from anywhere using the Mysa app on your smartphone or tablet. Each smart thermostat pairs with a single unit. To control multiple units, purchase additional thermostats then use the Mysa app to control them all. Good concept, easy setup but lacking compatibility
on June 20, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
First, I attempted to set this up with a Portable Black and Decker Air Conditioner with Heat function and found that B+D products (at least this one) are not supported at this time. They are always updating it so at some point that could change which is awesome that they do keep it updated.
So I decided to purchase a small remote controlled window AC unit (Midea brand) and was able to get this to work with it no problem. What you lose though, the Midea has a smart comfort feature in which the remote is also a sensor for the room so it doesn't just sense the temperature near the remote. For whatever reason Mysa does not seem to work with that feature and when you change temps on the Mysa it forces the Air Conditioner LED display to show temps in Celsius and not Fahrenheit and there's no way to change it. In short, I wish I'd just popped the extra $40 on the AC that has Wifi Built-in as it seems to me that it would work just the same and possibly better. Granted, if you lost your remote, this would be a decent replacement as it does work and has a nice stand that lets you sit it on furniture or wall mount it.
Setting it up is really easy and this is where I think Mysa is good as it is based on the App and makes setting it up a breeze. The only thing to beware is that unlike what the website says it's not 'always compatible' just because your AC unit has a remote that displays temperature - as my B+D unit is not currently compatible.
In terms of the product itself, it's good and has the capacity to be updated so they can add more units and hopefully update things like the C vs F temp reading. However, getting this with the intent of having it sense and run the AC based on the temp at it's location, I am not seeing that result and would be disappointed with it. I do love that it gives you the ability to control it with Google Home which makes it awesome to use and the reason why I'd give it any recommendation. Beyond that I wouldn't recommend it unless you are replacing a remote and just want remote that sits or mounts on a wall because that's all it really ends up being.

Awesome for cool customized lighting in your home!
on May 29, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
First off, I have to say that for any room that you want to add RGB color lighting to I'd say definitely get these! You just have so much more control over how the lighting looks in the room by being able to control sections of the color inside the strip to make really custom effects for you room according to how you want it to look. I've had people ask why you'd use them but I can honestly say, the best way to look at these is to look at is as painting a room with color by bouncing light off of things inside the room. I put these in the corners at the ceiling and have ordered some foam crown molding I'll put under them so that the light is projected out toward the middle of the room across the ceiling.
As for setting these up, they have 3M adhesive on them so they're ready to hang. If you need to make sharp turns/corners, look for the connectors that let you cut the strip and use the connectors to make the turns. I wish they'd included a couple samples with these so you can try it. Once you have them where you want them, you can use the app to control them and connect them to a smart assistant like Google or Alexa.

Solid sound but weak bass, great for smaller rooms
on May 29, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
This is a good sound system for someone who wants to add a little more definition and loudness to a TV for movies and music. For being small, I can say it does pack a punch and in a smaller room this system is the perfect addition to a TV that doesn't have the best sound. If you're looking for thundering bass and loud theater sound, you may want to look past these as to me, the bass while good was no where nearly as loud and hard hitting as I'd hoped it might be compared to another soundbar and subwoofer that I have downstairs.
In terms of features, I like the display and how it's hidden inside the soundbar. It looks great and works well. The wireless casting is cool and setting up Google was not bad but it did error the first time it updated which I'm not sure if it actually did update or not.
The remote control has a rubbery feel that I don't really care for and it feels cheap but you don't really use it a bunch if you're using a TV that has the Audio Return through HDMI (which is the best way to use this system). It's super easy to setup and use right out of the box with an HDMI cable for the return audio.
As said, you can crank this system up loud and it sounded good but the bass is not as strong as I'd hoped. I think in part because the subwoofer is firing down in to the carpet which I'm sure doesn't help it. For smaller rooms this system would be perfect as it's definitely a step up from the built-in speakers and a step up from cheap soundbars that are out there. For that I'd recommend this but if you have a large room with carpet and are expecting that cinema thundering sound and bass, you'll want to consider other systems.

Great sounding ear buds with noise cancellation
on May 29, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
These are some great noise cancelling ear buds that are super light and fit/hold in well with the ear tips that they have. They have a USB-C charging port which makes it easy to charge them as most phones use USB-C now. In terms of how they sound, they're great and the noise cancelling seems to work really well too. The only thing that I'm not happy with them on are the touch controls. They are super sensitive to touch and it's easy to accidentally touch them. Several times I've hung up on people just trying to answer the phone with them and there's really no way to customize or change the touch feature so it's not so sensitive. Outside of that I am happy with their performance, the bass sounds solid and the mids/highs sound natural and clean. Battery life is excellent and I was able to go all day using them with no charge outside of a few minutes in the case when I was on lunch break. Pairing them was easy and it prompts you to download an optional app that is used to turn the anc on/off and adjust some other settings as well as updating them. In terms of comparison I would say they are as good as other similar ones and to me seemed lighter like they weren't even there.
I'd recommend these even with the touch issue where it might just be me and because outside that they are great and are perfect to wear working and when working out.

Awesome hardware wallet!
on May 29, 2022
Posted by: btb2k
This is a great hardware wallet, with simplicity and security being put first and foremost. It can't be hacked by design. Ledger's app and process to setup the wallet is also great. Setup is simple and if you're new to a hardware wallet I can say that this is the perfect one to start out with, you simply connect it to your PC, setup the security and write down your backup code and then start adding your coins through the app. It's that simple. The display on the device works well, and is easy to read and navigation is not bad. It's small and can fit easily on a keychain so you can have it where ever you go (which can be good if you don't lose things and bad if you lose things a lot in which case I would put a tile or airtag with it - hey Ledger - why not make your device do this so we can track it's last known location?).
That brings me to the two things about this device I don't like. First I don't like how it swivels as I could see issues with that down the road as it reminds me of an expensive flash drive I had that fell apart after being opened so many times and a touch screen would have been welcomed which would have made navigation even simpler with swipes and taps. Outside of that I think this wallet was designed well and the app even better. The app is clean and easy to use and understand.
On a side note, as for the backup code.... having that code wrote down is the biggest risk to security of the wallet!! You can't treat it like any normal document or paper and literally need to treat it like it's cash as it's the only thing that could help you recover your wallet should your device get lost or destroyed somehow. Should you lose it, your hardware key becomes worthless, and you lose your wallet either to never be recovered or to be stolen if someone realizes what it is if the paper is found. I really don't like that Ledger provided a sheet that makes it super obvious what the code is and what device it's for!! I wrote mine on a plain piece of paper twice, one for the safe and one for the safety deposit box at the bank. That way, anyone who sees it, won't know immediately what it is and what hardware wallet it might belong to. Second is a sticker, why on earth would I want to advertise Ledger and let people know I have a hardware wallet they could steal.
Overall, this is great and if you have a wallet on your phone, I'd recommend ditching that and going for this! It's much more secure and to me is just as easy to use!

Out of the box, this AIO is easy to install (ensure you get the right size to fit your case and that you have clearance above your motherboard as this will stick out some and could cause issues with taller ram modules if mounted on top of case as I did in my setup). In my case, it fit just fine but only just enough above the main board. Connecting the AIO to your motherboard's USB headers and power is easy and you can hide most of the cables in the back side. The CPU block has thermal compound on it and is basically ready out of the box unless you have a preference on your own thermal compound. I used it with what was included and the cooling is great, I was able to run an i9 9900K overclocked without thermal throttling which is perfect for gaming.
The Razer Chroma software works great and allows you the ability to customize your lighting to your own taste and it also works with some games without any additional configuration. You can see a complete list on Razer's website. I do have to say that Razer's software is easier to use to customize your lighting setup than Corsair's and enables you to control all of your lighting with a single app similar to Corsair. The fans are just as quiet and can be configured to speed up and slow down as the system heats up/cools so that noise is minimized. I would say they are quiet as the ones in my Corsair setup so, if you're wondering if they're similar I'd say they are in just about every way so it would to me come down to preference and which ecosystem you want to invest in though they do all work together with 3rd party software which is what I do in my other setup. Temps stay cool while gaming and while the fans will ramp up they are not overly loud but this can of course depend a lot on your case and acoustics in the room.
Overall, it's a solid add on/upgrade to put in your machine and I'd recommend it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

If I use these and they truly block out all sounds, does it come with an alarm built in the app? I don't wanna have my alarm clock set and not hear it due to me wearing these through the night

Yes, for me they blocked out sounds especially when playing the sound clips.. they do have a built-in alarm that you can set.

Find the best fishing spots with this PowerDolphin Wizard water drone. The included PowerSeeker gives you data on water conditions, and the BaitBox function lets you drop bait to attract fish. This PowerDolphin Wizard water drone has a 4K UHD camera that captures stunning footage and quickly switches between above and underwater modes.

How deep can this go underwater. The add says the “SONAR” can detect up to 230 ft but nothing is stated about how deep the drone itself can go.

This one is not really designed for going and staying underwater though it can be submerged.:. it’s mostly designed to work on the surface though can skip under the surface and drop the camera under the surface to see below the drone. PowerVision has another drone that is designed for complete underwater use though.

Ninja Foodi's TenderCrisp pressure cooker allows you to achieve all the quick cooking and tenderizing wonders that you love about pressure cookers. The Foodi's Crisping Lid allows you to air fry, bake/roast, and broil. That means you can give your tender, juicy pressure-cooked meals a golden, crispy finish. The secret is TenderCrisp Technology, which produces the perfect combination of heat, fan velocity, and air circulation to give your food even crisping from top to bottom.

Does this pressure cooker air crisper combo item use silicone rings ? I hear the Rings hold smells and are almost impossible to get stains out of them .

It is a silicone ring that seals it. The manual states that you must keep the ring clean by removing and cleaning the ring AND lid after each time you use it or that there may be a risk it holding smells. Both the ring and lid should not be washed in the dishwasher of course!! So far, I have not noticed any stains or smells after using it while pressure cooking with really intense seasonings like rosemary, celery, and onions/garlic, and I've thoroughly cleaned the seal and appliance every time after each use as the manual states. My recommendation is going to be follow what it says in the manual and you should be okay. In terms of stains, I wouldn't rule them out from being possible to happen in the right conditions though I can't imagine it affecting anything. My thoughts on that are that the only reason you wouldn't ever see it on other kinds of seals is because the seal itself is black or another color but in terms of stains on the one i have, I've seen none so far!

Air is the new oil, and now with the Philips Airfryer you can use that air to fry in a healthier way with up to 75% less fat! Thanks to Philips unique TurboStar™ technology, all food is exposed to constant, circulating heat allowing you to cook your favorite foods with a tablespoon or less of oil. The result is evenly fried food – with no turning or shaking needed. Preset meals on the digital Airfryer allow you to cook your favorite recipes at the touch of a button.

Does the Phillips AirFryer 9621/96 have a stainless steel basket?

It does not appear to be just plain stainless (i'm sure because food would stick to it as it fries in the Air Fryer). It appears to be a non-stick metal basket, and is NOT safe to wash in the dishwasher. It has to be hand washed but I've never had any difficultly with cleaning it.
