I received this pot as a gift. I used it twice after reading the booklet that came with it. It said do not use the locks during cooking and do not open during cooking because it will release much of the heat. These things I understood. I've used the pot twice. The first time I used it, I noticed the lid didn't seem to fit the pot. I made sure not to overfill. I tried my best to center the lid but so much Steam escaped from around the lid, I had to take a paper towel and soak it up from around the rim of the pot. This pot has steam holes and it doesn't seem logical that so much would escape from around the lid. The second time I used it, the same thing happened. I took a piece of paper and stuck it between the lid and the pot. I could run it around the entire lid except on the handle ends. The only way to not have this gap is to lock the handles.....which you cannot do during cooking. I called the manufacturer and their only comment was that all crock pot lids fit this way. Well, as the owner of a number of crockpots over the years, this has not been my experience. Another thing is the gasket around the lid retains the odor of whatever was cooked. I'm returning the pot.
What's great about it: Cooks ok
What's not so great: The lid doesn't fit and gasket retains odors of cooked food.
